One Way or Another

Jenkins Ocean is nothing but a trouble maker after her parent's death. She's at an orphanage since she's not 18 yet. Her dad's all-time best friend since high school -Simon- decides that he's interfering.

Taken in by Simon Cowell, she meets what seemed at first the pain in the ass called One Direction. They all seemed nice to her, everyone but bad boy Zayn, though Zayn's not really fond of her either.

3. Stranger and hate at first sight

Heathrow airport

I had left to Bradford the same day Simon had told us about his friend passing away and about his friend's daughter. We should be nice to her and all that.

I was on my way to the house after being with my family in Bradford for a few days. It had been great. I just hoped Simon wasn't mad.

Once I was on the airport, I called the lads on the house. "Hello?" Niall said.

"Niall, mate, has Simon been there yet?" I asked carefully.

"Yeah, he came about an hour ago. But don't worry, he didn't ask about you."

"I don't know what worries me the most. The fact that he would notice I wasn't there or the fact that he didn't notice."

"Hmmm, that's a tough one, mate." He said. "When are you coming?"

"I'm on my way. I should be there in about two minutes."

"Great, see you here."

"Yeah, bye." I hung up and looked through the window. I wondered how uncle Si was after his friend's death and how the daughter was.

I arrived to the house and took out my key. I opened the door and dropped my duffel bag and it fell on the floor as I headed into the kitchen to get a sandwich and something to drink, when I heard laughs in the living room, but the laughs didn't come from the lads, but from a girl sitting on the couch with a laptop on her lap. I bet she was using Skype. What did I care? Whoever she was and whatever she was doing in our house were questions I was going to ask. I walked near her and shut the laptop closed. "Hey!" She complained. "I was watching a movie!"

"Who are you?" I demanded.

"I'm Jen. Who are you?" She asked me.

"Me? I live here!" I was astonished. How could she ask whom I was when she was at my house?

"That doesn't really answer my question, now does it?" I spat. How could he shut the laptop closed just like that? That was rude!

"What are you doing at my house?" He yelled at me and Liam came running downstairs.

"Oh, you're back, mate. I see you met Jen. She's Simon's closest attempt to a niece."

The 'mate' looked at Liam. "What is she doing here if Simon's in America? Who’s she hooking up with?" He asked, glaring at me.

"Hey! I'm not hooking up any of the boys!" I yelled at him. "And I have no idea why Simon brought me here. He just picked me up and took me to the airport and into his jet and then into this house."

"Didn't you say something? You could've said something!"

"Oh, yeah! How about this: No, uncle Simon, I do not want to get out of this orphanage. Why don't you just leave me here to have as much fun as I can have now that I have no one else in the world!"

Liam sighed and went back upstairs. The 'mate' watched him climb up the stairs and then glared at me. "Wait, you said 'Uncle Simon'?" He asked.

"Good one! You deserve a cookie." I said sarcastically. This guy was taking the worse out of me.

"Shut up."

"You can't talk like that to a lady, mate." I said as I stood up. "You might be all intimidating and all that, but you can't be that disrespectful."

I was driving her crazy at this point. You could see from miles away that she had no patience, so I thought of how to mess with her a little. "The name's Zayn, love." I flirted as I smiled.

She just glared at me, and grabbed her laptop and climbed the stairs into the next floor.

Well, I guessed round one was won by Zayn
