1. Beginning of the End

Carters POV:

"Hey honey! Can you come down here for a minute? Your father and I need to talk to you."

Usually when a seventeen year old hears that coming from their mum, they think they either got a bad grade or they forgot to do the dishes. That teen usually complains or makes up some lame excuse. For me, I wish that was the case. Those words were said to me on a Wednesday night. A Wednesday night that changed my life, and everything in it forever.

Nialls POV:

"My parents are splitting up and I'm moving to America with my mum this fall." These words were spoken by my best friend. The one person I could go to 24/7, the one who helps me write songs when I'm having a bad day, but now she's leaving me. Her mum caught her father cheating on her while he traveled for work. I feel so awful for Carters mum and for Carter. They had the family that everyone dreamed of having. It's a shame that her father didn't feel the same way. I held my friend so tight not planning on letting go. Her sobs were so heartbreaking I wanted to cry too.

Carters POV: I hated telling my best friend that I was leaving him at the end of the summer. It was the worst day of my life seeing him so happy to see me when we were about to hang out, then it changing  to him looking like someone punched him in the stomach all in an instant. "Wha-What do you mean you're moving?" was all he could manage to say. I had to explain to him that my father has been unfaithful to my mum for the past several months and she found out. At first, I was more upset about my father betraying my mum and I more than having to move from Mullingar, Ireland, to the United States. She found a job as an interior designer, where she'll be able to support her and I. My mother is the strongest woman I have ever met. To see her as broken as I did when I came down the stairs that Wednesday night, I knew something was very wrong.
