After the books Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth I have decided to write a third novel in the series, called Emergent.
Tris Prior and Tobias Eaton both belonged to a world where there were five different factions: Abnegation, Candor, Amity, Erudite and Dauntless. You could only choose one. Tris and Tobias are Divergent meaning that they belonged in more than one faction. Although now there is a war going on between the factions.
Tris is determined to find what is going on on the other side of the fence that has been guarded for many years but she was not prepared for what she finds.
Tris's older brother Caleb who betrayed her and her family is willing to do absolutely anything to gain control of all factions even if it means destroying them first.

6. chapter 6

We simply stood there and watched our world crumble around us. A tear rolled down my cheek. It was as if Tobias and I were somehow protected but neither of us could move. As the rest of the world was dying none of the danger seemed to touch us.

After what seemed like an eternity, the horror finally stopped. Hand in hand, Tobias and I walked slowly back to what could once have been called home. When we arrived we saw that absolutely nothing had been spared. I wondered how it was possible; to destroy in minutes, a world that had taken thousands of years to create. Somehow it didn't feel real to me, like it was all just a horrible dream that I would soon wake up from, but I knew better. We continued walking until we reached somewhere we recognized. I realized where we were: this was my old house from Abnegation. I could feel a knot in my throat and tears welled up in my eyes. I walked over to where my old bedroom would have been and tears trickled down my cheeks. Tobias walked up to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"It's going to be alright." he whispered.

"How do you know that?" I asked softly.

He smiled reassuringly.

"I just do." he said.

Tobias and I stood there in silence for a few moments until Tobias finally spoke.

"We should probably change our names," he said. "The prophecy said to leave everything behind us, didn't it?"

"Yeah," I said. "So what's your name going to be?"

"I was thinking Adam," he replied.

"O.K. Adam," I said. "I'll be Eve.

But right now if I closed my eyes it almost felt like nothing had changed at all.
