After the books Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth I have decided to write a third novel in the series, called Emergent.
Tris Prior and Tobias Eaton both belonged to a world where there were five different factions: Abnegation, Candor, Amity, Erudite and Dauntless. You could only choose one. Tris and Tobias are Divergent meaning that they belonged in more than one faction. Although now there is a war going on between the factions.
Tris is determined to find what is going on on the other side of the fence that has been guarded for many years but she was not prepared for what she finds.
Tris's older brother Caleb who betrayed her and her family is willing to do absolutely anything to gain control of all factions even if it means destroying them first.

5. chapter 5

In front of me stood my mom and dad. But that was impossible. I had watched them die with my own eyes. I clung on to Tobias for support because my legs felt like they would collapse from under me. Behind them, I could see more figures. I saw Cristina. Then Al.  But he had jumped off a cliff into the chasm back at Dauntless! Then, most hauntingly of all, I saw Will. But he couldn't be alive because I killed him!

"Tobias," I whispered, panicked. "What's going on?"

"I don't know. How can my dad be there?" he replied.

"Wait, your dad. I don't see him anywhere." I exclaimed, getting extremely confused. It was then I noticed that none of them had moved since we had arrived. "Mom, Dad," I whispered cautiously.

Suddenly, all of their heads snapped towards us. I dug my fingers into Tobias's arm. Smoke began to rise in front of us and I couldn't see anything. My heart felt like it was about to explode through my chest. Then I could hear a high-pitched, screeching voice "Turn around! In this place you will see nothing but illusions and your worst nightmares. Turn around and never return!"

When the smoke faded we were alone.

"Tobias," I whispered.

"Yeah?"

"What was that?" I asked quietly.

"I have no idea," he answered. "But I'm sure this place is hiding something."

We continued through the forest. Then suddenly I saw something coming from my arm. It was a bug. I screamed and screamed as more gnashing jaws came out of my arm.

"What's wrong?" Tobias asked, concerned.

"My arm," I screamed. "There's bugs coming out of my arm."

"There's nothing on your arm Tris. It must be an illusion."

But it couldn't be, I could feel them. Then suddenly they disappeared. I gasped in relief, Tobias was right it was just an illusion but a pretty good one.

 "Are you alright?" asked Tobias.

"Yeah, I'm fine now, I think."

As we continued, Tobias saw the forest on fire and walls appearing and closing in on him while I saw the whole forest filling with water and I felt as if I really was drowning.

Finally, we reached a large clearing with some kind of table in the center. We walked cautiously towards it. When we reached the table we saw a sheet of paper lying across it. The paper was old and the writing was in calligraphy. I read it aloud:

"This world is ruined and wrecked, and it is time for it to be once and for all destroyed. Everything must be destroyed and left behind except for the readers of this prophecy. Nothing else from this world can stay. Today, the sky will fall but do not try to stop it. Let the sky fall and as it crumbles stand tall together, for this is the beginning of the end. Always remember the mistakes of the past and never make them again. Now the sky shall fall."

Suddenly I heard a humungous bang and when I looked up at the sky, I saw fire and what appeared to be meteorites. I slipped my hand into Tobias's and watched the end of the world.
