After the books Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth I have decided to write a third novel in the series, called Emergent.
Tris Prior and Tobias Eaton both belonged to a world where there were five different factions: Abnegation, Candor, Amity, Erudite and Dauntless. You could only choose one. Tris and Tobias are Divergent meaning that they belonged in more than one faction. Although now there is a war going on between the factions.
Tris is determined to find what is going on on the other side of the fence that has been guarded for many years but she was not prepared for what she finds.
Tris's older brother Caleb who betrayed her and her family is willing to do absolutely anything to gain control of all factions even if it means destroying them first.

There was shouting and people were running everywhere. It was hectic. You could actually feel the panic in the air. Amity's leaders were attempting to calm everyone down but to absolutely no avail.

Tobias grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the nearest exit. Once we were outside he said: "We have to find out what's on the other side of the fence. Like your mother said, there could be something out there that could help us."

I agreed, so the two of us headed in the direction of the fence. Caleb clearly had begun his plan already because in the distance we could see thick smoke rising up from a nearby faction. Candor I think. Soon the fence was in sight and we searched for a gate or a spot where the fence might be lower. But all we could see was a vast, seemingly endless, towering, spiked, metal fence. We walked along the fence for what seemed like hours until we finally reached a gate. Tobias typed in the old code but apparently it had been changed because the gate wouldn't budge an inch. Then I noticed a small sign at the bottom of the gate. I read it out loud: "If you don't have the code contact Erudite (main building) but only if you need it for farming reasons. Other reasons will be rejected." Uh oh! There wasn't a hope that anyone would believe for a second that we're farmers.

After a long conversation about it we decided the best way to get to the Erudite files was at what was once Dauntless HQ. We knew the way but it still took us a phenomenal length of time walking through marshes and bogs. By the time we reached my old home I could feel a lump in my throat as old memories came back to me. Tears welled up in my eyes as we walked down the corridor towards the computer room because this was where my dad had died for me. I slowly pulled back the door to the computer room and I walked in, closely followed by Tobias. The room hadn't changed at all since I was last here. There were chairs and books scattered everywhere and some of the computers were smashed to pieces. I hate this room, it makes me feel so confined. Tobias sat down in front of one of the remaining computers and began typing something in. I knew what he was doing, he was attempting to hack into the Erudite files. It took him quite some time but he finally got it. He began searching through the files to find the code for the fence and after a few minutes, he finally got it. I grinned, Erudite may have amazing knowledge but they certainly aren't any good at hiding it. I found a piece of paper and a pen and took down the code:78456dw132kn791245zx6233. I then slipped the piece of paper into my pocket. We had one more thing to do before we left Dauntless. We went into the old training room and withdrew a small pistol each. We then found an abandoned car with the keys still in it and drove away. Just as we reached the road there was a huge explosion behind us that shook the whole car violently. I screamed. At least a quarter of Dauntless had been blown up.  I put my head out the window and I saw three hovercrafts with the Erudite logo written clearly on the side. Ash and smoke began to rise from the wreckage as more bombs began to rain down. A tear trickled down my cheek. This place that had become my home would be destroyed within minutes. Another bomb fell, this time closer to us and the car swerved off the road and into a field. I screamed as the car rolled upside down and then crashed into a tree. I lay there gasping for a few moments while more bombs rained from the sky. This time the windows shattered and the car was thrown to one side. Caleb is really trying to destroy the world.
