A Thousand Years

When Louis meets a girl, his life turns upside down and she changes him in ways that can't be explained. When an accident causes Louis to lose his memory, it is up to Angela and his friends to help him regain the memories that have been lost. In an attempt to help regain Louis' memory, he can only remember his past.

11. The Deal

"I just want to stay here in your arms." Angela's head was rested on my chest while my arms were wrapped around her. I smiled, kissing the top of her head. "Can we stay like this forever?" she asked, looking up at me with her brown eyes. "Of course we can love." I leaned in and kissed her lips. Suddenly, we were rudely interrupted by the sound of the door bell.

We pulled away, both of us groaning. "I'll go answer it." I told her, getting out of bed. "I'll keep the bed warm for you." she smiled. I walked out of the room and walked to the front door. I opened the door. "Hey Lou, are you busy today?" Niall asked with a smile. Harry, Zayn, and Liam were standing right behind him.

I opened my mouth to answer him when I heard footsteps approach the door behind me. "Hey guys." Angela smiled at them. "Hey Ange. Do you mind if we steal Louis for the day?" Harry asked, flashing a smile towards her direction. Angela looked at me, then back at them. "Yeah, of course. I have to go look for a job anyway." she said.

"Thanks. How about we all meet here for dinner?" Liam asked.

"That sounds great." she smiled.

"I should get dressed then." I said, leaving them alone to talk while I changed my clothes. I walked back out into the foyer. "Bye babe." I kissed Angela's lips before getting in a car with the guys. "Have fun!" she called out, then closed the door after we drove off.

The guys and I arrived at another place where we liked to hang out. "It's no Nando's, but it'll do." Niall said. It was good to hang out with my friends now that tour is over and we were on a short break before the next one. "What's it like living with Angela?" Zayn asked.

"It's amazing." I smiled.

"Oh yeah? Do you two just stay home and cuddle all day?" Harry smirked.

"No, we go out on days when we don't feel like staying home." I said.

"Now that you two live together, ever thought about marrying her?" Niall asked. No, I haven't thought about marrying her. The thought never occurred to me since she and I only have been dating for a few months. "No. The thought never crossed my mind." I said. "Why are we discussing this?"

The guys shrugged. "I think it's best to wait a year or so."

"Wait? We'll probably be on tour in a year Lou." Liam said.

"I don't want to rush into marriage yet. Angela and I just started living together. We talked it over and we both want to take things slow." Of course I wanted to get married someday, but it wasn't good to rush things. I wasn't going to pressure Angela into doing something that she wasn't ready for, that I wasn't ready for.

"Let's make a deal then." Harry said.

"A deal?" I asked.

Zayn looked at Harry, "What kind of deal?"

Harry smiled, "We'll give you until the next tour to ask her to marry you."

"That doesn't give me any time at all." I said.

"Six months then." Niall said.

"Okay, we'll give you six months and that's it." Harry said.

I thought about it for a moment. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. A deal to ask Angela to marry me within six months. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it. "Six months is my limit?" I asked. Harry nodded, "So are you in or not?"

"I'm in." My answer was definite, but I was still unsure. Harry and I shook hands just to make it seem like it was an official deal. "What happens if I don't ask her and my six month limit is over?" I asked.

"Well, you might as well stick with your plan to ask her to marry her on your own terms." he said.

Later that evening, we were all at my house for dinner. Angela had the honor of cooking us dinner. "This food is amazing." Niall said as he took another bite of his food. "Thanks." she smiled. I took only a few bites of my food since I had been thinking about the deal I had made earlier with the guys. I still hadn't gotten around to telling Angela about the deal.

I wanted to tell her, but a part of me was saying that I shouldn't. After dinner, the guys left and I was finally alone with Angela. We were washing all the dishes in the kitchen when she handed me a plate and asked, "Is there something on your mind?"

I took the plate from her, rinsing and drying it off. "No, why do you ask?" I asked her.

She shrugged, "You were unusually quiet at dinner. You don't have to tell me. You can always-"

"I made a deal with the guys, specifically Harry." I said, interrupting her. I just had to get it out of my system. I couldn't hold it in anymore. She looked at me with a confused look on her face. "A deal? What kind of deal?" she asked. I told her about the deal and she became silent. I shouldn't have told her about the deal. The people I would've told all ready knew about the deal.

"Six months? Louis,"

"I know we've only been dating for a few months. If you think about it, it all adds up to a year." I told her. She shook her head and leaned against the counter. "We just started living together. I can't even think about marriage right now." she said. I reached out and turned her head towards my direction. "We're going to take this one step at a time. We'll just have to wait and see what happens." I kissed her lips, then wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into a hug.
