A Thousand Years

When Louis meets a girl, his life turns upside down and she changes him in ways that can't be explained. When an accident causes Louis to lose his memory, it is up to Angela and his friends to help him regain the memories that have been lost. In an attempt to help regain Louis' memory, he can only remember his past.

5. Feelings

The guys and I were finally back in the UK with Eleanor as well. It was finally good to be home again. I still couldn't remember the accident very well, but I was told that our tour bus swerved and I was the one who was injured more. The guys weren't clear on explaining the accident, but I got a gist of it.

We were at my house and I was just watching TV in the living room. The guys had gone into the kitchen to talk. "Now that you're home, what should we do first?" Eleanor asked me with a smile. I wanted to go back on tour again. I didn't want to stay cooped up inside my house for weeks. I needed something to do.

The guys walked back out of the kitchen and sat in the living room with us. "We decided that you should wait awhile before singing with us on tour." Liam said. What? I was confused. "I don't want to wait." I said. Eleanor took my hand, caressing in gently. For a strange reason, there was no sensation in the touch anymore unlike that feeling at the hospital.

"Lou, we had to put our concert on hold because of the accident. It's best that we wait a few more weeks." Harry said. A few more weeks!? I stood up and went into my room. I couldn't stand a few more weeks without singing. It was my passion, it was everything to me. It was a talent that I could show to the world. Performing was also apart of it.

I didn't come out of my room until I had to eat dinner. The guys were still there, but Eleanor had left. Liam had told me that it was because she decided it was best to let me be for a while until I was "myself" again. I haven't changed much. I'm still the same Louis they know and love. I just didn't feel that way. There was something missing and it was bothering me not knowing what that was.

I sat at the table while the guys sat down with me. "We've talked about it with Paul and he said you sing with us." Liam said. I continued eating as if I didn't hear what Liam said. "What do you say?" Zayn asked. I thought about it for a minute while I ate. "Where's our next concert?" I asked.

We sang a few free shows in the UK because of what happened during the accident. After finishing the shows, we met all of the fans. It felt so good to finally singing again. About a month or so has passed since my accident. I've never felt better in a long time. The guys and I continued to do more shows in the UK before going to the States.

We were in Los Angeles, singing another concert. Everything happened like there was no accident at all. We met our fans backstage. Angela and a younger girl appeared at the concert. The little girl ran up to me and gave me a hug. I didn't know her name, but I hugged her back. "What's your name?" I asked her with a smile, crouching down to her level.

"Jessica." she smiled. She held out a poster for me to sign and I signed it. I stood up and was met face to face with Angela. I felt like I've seen her somewhere, but I couldn't remember where. "Jess wanted to see you and she wanted to give you this." She pulled out a book from her back. "What is it?" I asked her, taking it from her.

"It's a scrapbook. It's like a picture book. I hope it'll help you remember. If not, we can always try again." she smiled, then took Jessica's hand as they walked away.

Later that evening in our hotel room, I sat at the desk and began to flip through the pages of the book. There weren't many pictures, but there were enough to understand what the pictures meant. Each picture had a caption underneath it. So much thought was put in to one book.

"What are you reading there Lou?" Liam asked. The other guys followed, crowding around the desk. "It's a scrapbook." I said, continuing to flip through each page while reading the caption below. There were pictures of the mall, the clothing store, the younger girl Jessica, and the older girl Angela. Also there were some pictures taken of the hospital room that I was in and pictures of the guys as well. "Why are we in there?" Niall asked.

"Maybe it's to help Louis gain his memory back." Harry answered. My memory? What memory? I was fine. I didn't lose it. Or did I? I could barely remember what happened before the accident. Nothing was coming back to me, not all at once anyway.

I closed the scrapbook and decided that it was best to sleep on it. Maybe I'll wake up in the morning and remember everything, or maybe not. I actually don't know what will happen, but all I kept thinking about was that girl at the concert. Angela.

The next day I went back to the mall where I "supposedly" met Angela. I hardly remembered that ever happening. I met her at the hospital. I entered the store and she was putting back the clothes into the racks. I walked over to her and greeted her with a smile. "Hey."

She smiled back at me, "Hey, I'm almost done putting these clothes away. Do you want to hang out?" she asked. I nodded as she put the last piece of clothing on the rack. She grabbed her bag and we walked out of the store. We went to the food court and she bought some ice cream. She picked a table and we sat down across from each other.

"So, how did we meet?" I asked her.

"Well, we met here at the mall in the clothing store. You were buying some clothes and I told you my name. Later that evening, Jessica and I went to a concert you guys had. We met you guys backstage and Jessica was really shy to meet you guys. Then you started talking to her.

"You and I had a conversation about how you were being really sweet. You mentioned that you had four sisters and you asked me out on a date." she said.

"What did we do on that date?" I asked.

"You went to the mall again and bought Jessica a 1D book. You signed it and she gave you a card too. She's your biggest fan. On the date, well, we bonded over things we had in common. We both play the piano, we both have younger siblings, and there were other things as well. The next day, your girlfriend Eleanor came to the city to see you.

"You, the guys, and she went to the mall. I think you saw me and made some excuse to go talk to me. I invited you and the guys to the bonfire. You all came and you brought Eleanor along with you." she said.

"Are you jealous of my girlfriend?"

She shook her head. "I know you two have been dating for a while now and I understand that she means a lot to you more than I do since we..." She trailed off and then looked down, then ate some ice cream. "We what?" I asked.

"I don't know if you want to consider us friends now because that's what we were before the accident." she said.

"Of course we can be friends." I smiled. She flashed me a smile; that perfect smile. She pushed the ice cream towards my direction, asking me if I wanted any. I grabbed the other spoon and began sharing the ice cream with her. "Have you been looking at the scrapbook?" she asked.

I shrugged, "Let's just say that I stopped to remember the best ones." I smiled. I had hoped that I would never forget this day at the mall. Everything about this mall and what was in it did make me remember a few things. I did remember the store that Angela worked at, but that was all. The other things she discussed about was something I had to remember on my own.

"For just my purposes, will you go out on another date with me?" I asked her.

She looked up at me with those dark brown eyes and smiled, "Yes Louis. I'll go on another date with you." Her eyes were saying something more and was probably thinking the same exact thing that I was thinking. There was something special about her that I liked, but I couldn't remember why and that really frustrated me. Did I ever have feelings for this girl before the accident? Have I ever thought that I was beginning to fall in love with her? Maybe I have. Maybe those feelings will come back again. If they do, I want to remember them.
