In an attempt to help regain Louis' memory, he can only remember his past.

14. A Job Offer

Silence and anticipation filled the room. All eyes were on us since Angela still had to make a decision. As soon as the words had left my mouth, I rendered her speechless. She hadn't spoken a single word. I wondered if she was thinking that all of this was happening too fast and she'd decline... for now. I was too busy wrapped up in my thoughts, almost missing her final answer.

I heard her say the word: "Yes." That was all I needed to hear from her. I placed the ring on her finger and kissed her lips. She wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around her, holding her close. The feeling of being near her, holding her in my arms was all I needed. "I love you Louis." I heard her say as she looked into my eyes for only a moment. "I love you too Angela."

This moment couldn't have been anymore special than it all ready was. We were both surrounded by friends and people who cared about us. I was happy, being with the girl that I had met more than six months ago, and I was in love with her. I knew it right from the start that she was the last piece to my unsolvable puzzle.

The guys congratulated us and then left. Angela's parents and Jessica had gone to their rooms to sleep. Angela and I were left picking up all the trash that was left in the living room. Once everything was clean, we headed back upstairs and went to sleep. The next morning I awoke with Angela's arms wrapped around my waist. If only we could just freeze time... I thought to myself looking down at her while she slept.

She looked so peaceful, so beautiful. She looked fragile and would break if I touched her. I didn't want to wake her, so I didn't move from my spot. Instead, I just gazed at her beauty. She stirred in her sleep, turning away from me and everything became cold. I hadn't realized that it was her warmth that kept me going. Without her, I was empty. I was nothing.

She moved again and this time her eyes fluttered open, then turned and faced me. "Were you watching me while I slept?" she asked, looking up at me with her brown eyes. "I wasn't watching. I was gazing." I answered.

"Gazing... watching, same thing." she said with a shrug. A knock came at the door as she sat up, taking her bathrobe from the back of the chair. She walked to the door, opening it. "Merry Christmas!" Jessica smiled and hugged her sister. "Merry Christmas Jess!" Angela smiled, hugging her back.

The three of us all went downstairs and entered the kitchen since we were all attracted by the smell of food. "Mom, you didn't have to make us breakfast." Angela said, looking at all the food placed on the dining table. "We know you miss our home cooked meals. For once we should have breakfast as a family." Kate smiled.

The five of us gathered around the dining table and began eating. "This food tastes great." I smiled.

"I'm glad somebody likes my cooking." Kate smiled, glancing over at Angela. "I never said I didn't like it." Angela smiled. I couldn't remember the last time I had a family meal during Christmas. Angela's family reminded me of my own and that made me want to see them. "What are your plans for today mom?" Angela asked.

"Well, we were planning to go ice skating with Jess." Kate said.

"Would you like to join us?" Peter asked.

"Ange, how about you go ice skating with your family." I told her.

"Are you sure?" Angela asked.

"Yeah, I mean, why not? You deserve to spend some time with your family." I smiled as she leaned over and kissed me on the cheek. "Thanks babe." she smiled.

Later that day, Angela and her family came back from ice skating. "Did you have fun?" I asked her after she greeted me with a kiss. "A lot of fun. We invited Harry to come with us." she smiled. Harry went with them. "It was an open invite." she added as if reading my mind.

"Louis, are you all right? You've been quiet lately." Angela said, getting into bed that night. "I'm fine." I said, looking up at ceiling. I heard her let out a sigh and I had a feeling I knew what she was going to say next, but the words never came out of her mouth. "Once my parents and my sister leave, let's go to France." I looked at her as soon as the words left her mouth.

"Are you serious?" I asked her.

"I've always wanted to go and I never really thought about going with anyone before until I met you." she smiled. France was my favorite country. Without any hesitation, I agreed that we both go to France when her family leaves. That very night became one of the best nights I've had in my life.

The guys and I were set for another tour around the world. We had three weeks before tour started and this was one of the moments I dread the most. It was leaving my home to go and perform for the fans. The guys and I were at Nandos; we knew that it would be one of our last meals there before we left.

Angela entered the restaurant, sitting down with us. I never imagined the idea of saying good bye was harder than I thought. "Glad you could join us." Zayn smiled.

"I wanted to spend as much time with my guys before you all go on tour." she smiled.

"You could come with us." Harry suggested.

"Unlike you guys, my job does not require me to go places." she said.

"Then work for us." Niall smiled.

Angela looked at Niall, then at me, and back at the guys. She began to shake her head when Liam said, "Just hear us out. You'll always have the same break times as us, all the flights are paid for, and you get to hang out with your five best friends."

"Four best friends and one fiance to be exact." she smiled. "I don't know Liam. That sounds like a good offer, but-"

"No buts, we're offering you a job. Do you want it or not?" Harry asked.

"Do you know how many people, especially girls, would kill for this job?" Zayn asked.

The job offer the guys proposed sounded like such a great idea and they made it seem like it was impossible for me to decline. It would be a good opportunity in my business career; and also to spend time with my best friends. "Give me three weeks." I told them.

"Three weeks?" Harry asked. I knew he wanted me to come on the tour with them more than the others, but that got me thinking about Louis. Why doesn't he have a say in this? "Lou, what do you think?" Liam asked. Everyone, but me looked at Louis. I could all ready see what his reaction would be and let's face it, I knew what the answer would be too.

"We'll give you three weeks." Louis said to me as I glanced up at him. "You have until tour starts to make your decision." Harry said. Oh boy. I thought to myself and took a sip from my cup.

As each week gradually passed by, it was getting closer to the date of the tour. The guys were just anxious to hear what my decision would be. Finally my three weeks were up and it was the day before the guys left. "So, have you made your decision yet?" Zayn asked as I nodded.

I thought about it hard. Before I opened my mouth to speak, I only thought of my parents and Jessica. Being away from them was hard enough with living in the UK, but traveling all over the world, that took a toll on me. "It's a great job offer. I'd take it, but..." I glanced over at Louis who was looking out the window.

We hadn't spoken to each other about the offer since it was mentioned. Actually, we hadn't spoken since then. I walked over to Louis, taking his hands in mine. He looked at me and at that very instant, I had a change of mind. "I can't stand to be away from you." he said to me.

"Me too." I said. "I'll go with you."

A smile formed and he kissed me. "I promise that you won't regret this decision. It'll be the best decision you've ever made." he said.

"I thought that agreeing to marry you was the best decision I've ever made." I smirked.

"That too." he smiled.
