1. Birthday

Daisy's POV

I woke up excited and confused. I was confused because I didn't know why I was excited. I rolled onto my other side and fell immediately of the bed. I let a small groan slip out of my mouth as I hit the floor. I pulled myself up and walked towards the door. I reached for the handle but before I knew it the door opened. "Happy Birthday!" my parents and my 6 year old twin sisters yelled in unison. "Make a wish!" my dad yelled pushing the cake closer to me. I thought for a moment and made the wish 'I want to find someone who will love me forever' I whispered the words in my head while squinting my eyes to just about see where I was blowing. With the first release of air, all the candles went out and everyone left leaving me to do what I needed to do. I decided to take a quick shower as I was up early today. After I was done I walked back to my room and looked for some clothes I could wear. I grabbed a plain blue hoodie and a pair of skinny jeans. I wasn't a fashionista at school. Just your average geek. I quickly packed my navy blue backpack and left the house without any words. I walked slowly to the bus stop which was only around the corner from me and I noticed my best friend. James. I knew his since I can remember. He lived only a few streets down from me. We used to hang out a lot. But it all stopped since Kylie joined our school. They both fell in love with each other and have not been separable ever since. I walked slowly towards him smiling. I gave him a big hug. I haven't seen him in a while. "Happy Birthday" he whispered into my neck. He soon pulled away slowly pushing a small thin wide box. "You didn't have to get me anything" I said undoing the perfectly tied ribbon. I slowly pulled the top of the box revealing a beautiful gold necklace. It was half a heart. "I have the other half" he said as he suddenly started going through his bag. He pulled out his keys and looked through the tangled mess while I lifted the necklace of its white silky pillow. Once he found it he brought the other half up to my hands and the two halves jumped and attached themselves together. He looked up at me and smiled. He took the necklace out of my hands and spun me around to put it on me. He lowered the necklace millimetres away from my face and placed it on my collarbone. Making me shiver from the contact of the cold metal touching my warm skin. I spun around on my heals and gave him another hug before he pulled away and pointed behind me. I put the box in my bag and pulled out my bus pass.

Once we have arrived at the best place on earth I wandered around looking for somewhere to sit. I found a quiet spot outside my Spanish class. The teachers would usually feel sorry for me and let me sit there while they kicked everyone else out. James was with his friends. He didn't know I sit on my own every morning. But how would he know if he never asked me. The bell rang quicker than normally. I stood up, picked my bag up and left to my first class. I entered the class and went straight to the back where people wouldn't bother me as much. I listened to my science teachers rant and soon began answering questions from a textbook. I looked up quickly before starting question 5 and noticed James and Kylie making out before the teacher interrupted them and split them up. But that just made it worse. They couldn't stop looking at each other. I slowly looked back down and finished the questions.

After 6 hours of school it was finally time to go home. I walked to  my bus and got on. I sat by the window, thoughts all over the place. I wasn't quite sure what I was thinking off. It must have been something fairly important and I didn't even notice that the drive was trying to get my attention. We were already at my stop. I grabbed my bag quickly apologised to the driver and headed home. I opened the door, threw my bag on the floor and walked up to my room. I opened the door and stopped as I saw a foreign object laying on my bed. Out of nowhere I hear my mum say "Happy Birthday sweetie" she said while I turned on my heals and hugged her "Thank you, thank you, thank you". I ran up to the box and pulled out my brand new laptop. My first ever, not shared, private, laptop.
