Will You Hear My Heart?

Like music, I can sad and beautiful. Like rain, my love comes slowly, then all at once. But if my heart beats loudly and you don't hear it, then does it exist? coypright (C)

3. My Answer

Dawn's P.O.V.

"The next day, the prince, his guards and his friend have gone to almost all of the houses in the kingdom looking for the girl they danced with at the ball," said the narrator. "The last house they had yet to visit was Cinderella's." the sound of knocking came.

"Who is it?" said Suzy, the evil stepmother.

"It's the prince," said one of the guards.

"Oh, come in, come in!" she said, getting her two daughters, Vivianne and Jennifer, to fix their appearance. Washing the floor, Suzy signaled me to go to the attic. I got off stage, not looking forward to what was going to happen.

"Good morning, we're looking for the owner of this glass slipper," said Seth holding out the shoe. "We were wondering if the three of you can try it out and see if it fits."

"I'll do it first!" yelled Vivianne pushing Jennifer out of the way. Sitting on the stool, Seth tried to put it on, but alas, it would not fit.

"My turn!" yelled Jennifer. Pushing Vivianne of the stool, Seth tried again, but it did not fit either.

"Then it must be me!" said the stepmother although she knew for sure that it was not her. Hoping it wasn't her, Seth tried again, and thankfully, she was not the girl from last night.

"We've looked all over the kingdom and still have not met the girl. Is there anyone else who lives here?" asked the prince desperately.

"There is Cinder-"said Jennifer but before she could finish, her mother cut her off.

"She's talking nonsense," said the stepmother.

"Shush, let her speak. Who is this Cinderella you're talking about?" asked Seth.

"She's my stepsister. She's up in the attic right now. But I doubt it could be her since she was here the whole time last night," said Jennifer plainly.

"Go and get her right now please."

"But you're highness-" said Vivianne.

"Now." So at his words, Vivianne and Jennifer went up and got Cinderella. There I was, standing infront of Seth in my rag of a dress. Maybe he forgot about what he said last scene?

"Please try it on," he said, motioning me to sit down. Kneeling in front of me, he slipped the glass slipper on my foot. It was a perfect match. Obviously.

"It's you. You are the girl I danced with last night," said the prince looking at me lovingly into my eyes. Gosh he was a good actor. If I had forgotten it was a play, I would have fallen in love with him right at that moment.

"You mean that we danced with last night," corrected Mason.

"Cinderella, would it be to much to ask for if you could choose between me and my friend over their?" said Seth. I really don't want to do this. At that moment, the director signalled Suzy, Vivianne, Jennifer and the guards to exit the stage. It was just me, Seth and Mason.

"Please tell me why I must choose between the two of you," I said.

"Well, to put it simply, both the prince and I would like to date you," said Mason simply. How come I didn't see this any sooner. This isn't how Mason talks. This must have been L talking the whole time. It was L and I don't like it.

"Is that it? Fine, I'll give both of you 10 seconds to convince me why I should go out with you."

Seth went first. He walked up to me shortening the distance between the two of us, and took one of my hands in his. "Cinderella, I would give you the moon and the stars if you would be my princess," he said taking out a red rose from his back with his other hand and held it between our face. The audience sighed at the romantic gesture. It was sweet. It was what every girl wished her prince charming could do for them. I could feel why cheeks getting hot. I almost forgot the audience was here. With his ten seconds over, he released me after kissing the back of my hand. Was it just me or did my hand burn from where his lips met them?

"Yoohoo, I'm still here," said Mason. I almost forgot he was still here.

"Oh, yeah. I'm sorry. It's your turn." I wondered what he would do. Giving himself a few seconds to think, he smiled, satisfied with his plan.

"I'm not going to bribe you with anything to make you go out with me," he said slowly making his way towards me. " I want you to go out with me not because of the things I could give you. I know for sure I can't give you the moon and the stars. I want you to be with me because that's what your heart wants. Because I want to be with you while you smile at the moon and when we dance under the stars. I want to see the way your face lights up when you smile. I want to be there to wipe away the tears when you cry. I want you to be with me because you love me." he said now standing in front of me.

I looked looked down from his gaze to see his lips are at eye level. I could feel my heart beating so fast I wonder if he hears it. This wasn't L talking anymore. It was Mason. The kind Mason who would gently blow on my booboo's. The Mason who always held my hand going home from school as children. By now, the crowd was hollering, signalling me to pick him instead of Seth. But I already had my answer.

I took a step back, although I wished I could stay were I was forever. I don't even know why I'm doing this when I have the chance right now. "I have made my decision," I said. Silence washed over the audience. "I will not chose any of the two gentlemen." The crowd erupted with conversations. "The reason being, how can I choose between the two when I had just met the two yesterday?" I said. "I will choose when I am ready. After getting to know the two better will I be able to choose." I looked at the direction of Mason. "Only the future can tell if I will be a princess with the prince of my dreams."

"And that was her response. Only time will tell if the prince of his friend will live happily ever after with Cinderella," said the narrator. "That is the end of our version of the fairytale "Cinderella". Cast, please come out and take a bow!" And so everyone came out, hand in hand, and took their bow.  "Thank you everybody and good night! Make sure to drive home safely!"

After everyone got off the stage, I quickly grabbed my change in clothes, ran to the dressing room, and left the school with my parents all before anyone could get a word out of me from the performance.
