1. A not-so-icy-Winter

When mum told me she had fallen in love, I was shocked- I had never really considered she would ever want too re-marry after my dad died. I had hoped we would stay the two of us forever, loyal, our own small family, but I knew even then that that's not fair. I was scared he would be cruel, but I just smiled at my mum encouragingly. After a month or so  she invited him round  to see me for the first time I felt a weight being lifted of my shoulders, he was chatty and friendly, almost hippy - but most importantly, he obviously loved my mum.
"Hey Sara,"he beamed an ear to ear smile at mum, followed my a peck on the cheek. "and you must be Rose!My names Winter, Lovely name.... rose, my mothers name is Rose...."

Mum would invite him around a lot, but he could only make few days as he said he was very busy with 'accommodation problems' and that it would be easier for mum to visit him a he needed to stay at home. I would stay at Nana's and Every time mum would come home after a weekend with him on cloud nine, telling me how he is "so friendly and romantic" and how "it's so hard to find people like that these days, you know?" I just laugh at how love sick she seemed.

"where does he live?" I ask one day after she got  back from Her weekend with Winter,
"Umm well this weekend, in Somerset." I raised an eyebrow, how could he live in a different places every weekend? That would explain the 'accommodation problems'.
"What about children?" I leafed through her Road map, looking at the many places circled in red marker pen.
"Yes, three daughters;  Elise, Maple, Electra and a baby son, Jack."  I grinned. A baby son? I had always dreamed if having a baby sibling, But sisters...on the other hand, might be a bit more trouble.

After a year of mis-hap meetings and dates they decided it was time too move in together, i was nervous about moving out of my comfort zone, but  if he was so friendly his family and house can't be that bad either,
 right?
