16. Tutoring! Not a hang out!

I woke up and I was having a terrible headache. It was Sunday yesterday, but my mind still kept playing back what had happened on Saturday. I cannot believe I just made friends with someone who I believed was my worst nightmare. I got out of my bed, and fixed myself.

I got into some skinny jeans and plain shirt. I had told Beth and Cindy about what had happened and they told me to try something new. I dint really know what that meant. But anyways.

I checked my phone and I had several messages. I read only two of them which were from my best friends telling me to to get dressed in something good today. I rolled my eyes and texted back. I did a group message to save some time.

Will jeans and a plain shirt be considered something good? xx

I waited for their reply and after awhile my phone vibrated which indicated that one of them must have replied. I checked the one sent by Beth first.

No!!! That is not even near good!

I sighed. I checked Cindy’s message next.

What!?!?! Is it good? Are you crazy? It’s a NO!

I decided to reply to them in a group message again.

SO what will I wear? Got any BRILLIANT ideas?

They both replied the same thing. Which was a dress. They’ve got to be kidding me! I never wear dresses unless my parents force me too! But this is not a force! I am so not wearing a dress! But I decided that I couldn’t say no to them since they would probably kill me. I checked my locker and chose a dress that was not short and it was up to my knee. I grabbed it out of my locker and got changed. I looked at myself in the mirror and realised that the dress complimented well to my eyes. It was brownish red, and it had some pattern. I never wore this dress so I guess now is the time to wear it.

Beth and Cindy were so happy to see me in a dress. They were definitely happy that I had followed their advice. But I couldn’t help but feel insecure at times. The reason why I never wore a dress was because it always made me insecure. For no reason, it just did. Everywhere I walked that day, I tried to hurry up a little bit. And I always looked down. Beth and Cindy noticed my behaviour, and they obviously disapproved of it.

They were like “It’s not good.” “Be confident.” and blah blah blah. I didn’t bother listening to them.

It was nearly the end of the day, and I was glad that I survived it. Although, I heard some criticisms I didn’t mind it, I just brushed it of my mind like it was nothing. My mind was pretty occupied that moment, since I was thinking if I made the right choice of wearing a dress or if I just made a fool out of myself. All of a sudden- WHAM!

I had crashed into someone, and I quickly looked up to apologise to the person. But the moment I recognised who the person was, I felt myself float in nowhere.

“Hey,” Harry said with a smile. He looked at me, and I was sure he was jugging me from head to toe. “Nice dress."

“Umm, thanks,” I said while putting on a fake smile.

“We have tutorials today right?” he asked me.

“Yeah, we do!” I said. I totally forgot about it! I was glad he remembered. Maybe he was building up some interest after all.

“Cool,” he said. “Meet me up in my parking lot."

“Your what?” I asked in a confused manner. Why his parking lot? I thought we were gonna meet up in the library.

“Parking lot,” he said smoothly. “I want to, you know, try to bring you somewhere."

“It’s a tutorial,” I pointed out. “Not a hang out!"

“Come on,” he said. “I just want you to try to soothe your mind from your twin, and consider it as a thank you."

“Okay,” I nodded my head in understanding. “So where are you taking me?"

“It’s a surprise.” he patted my shoulder and then left. I slapped myself to check if I was imagining it, and I wasn't.

I met Harry in his parking lot, just as he said. When he saw me, he right away gave me a smile. He opened the passenger’s seat for me and gestured me to get in. I was quite unsure, but anyways I got in.

The whole way to wherever he was taking me, we did not talk at all. My bag was in my lap since I didn’t want to forget that this was still a tutorial and not a hang out. I clutched my bag and looked out the window. I didn’t really bother looking at him since my eyes were busy looking at the things I was seeing outside. I sighed and leaned my chin in my hand.

After several minutes or hours of driving he stopped the car.

“You didn’t run out of gas right?” I joked. But honestly, I was so scared of being stranded in an area I did not know.

“Very funny,” he smirked. Well, I guess he diet like my joke. Whatever, I knew he didn’t like those jokes. He practically only laughed at those people who were feeling pain.

“Where are we?” I burst out. I was scared. What if I don’t arrive home alive? I know I’m exaggerating but seriously, I was too young to die!

“Look around,” he ordered me. I looked around and realised the wonderful view I was looking at. The air was breathtaking and the view just made me feel so relaxed. I examined the place carefully. I really liked it.

I got pulled out of my thoughts when I heard Harry shut the compartment of his car. I looked at him, and he was fixing something which I didn’t really figure out. When he finished putting whatever he was doing, he sat down on the cloth.

“What?” I said as he tapped the space beside him. He waited until I sat down, but I didn’t. I’m sure he was not used that people would refuse him, so he shot me a death glare. I hesitantly sat down beside him.

He got something out of the basket, and it looked really yummy. I bet it was delicious, cause the smell made me crave for it. I just hoped it tasted exactly how it looked and smelt like.

“A picnic?” I questioned. He nodded his head and handed me one of the food. It was a sandwich but it looked different. I bit it, and it was soooo good! I was speechless. This was probably the best sandwich I ever tasted.

“What do you think?” he asked.

“It’s so good!” I said after swallowing the food in my mouth. I took another bite, and I saw him laugh. Yeah, you can say I was a heavy eater. My family used to tease me a lot that I ate too much. But hey! In order for your mind to work, you gotta eat, right?

“I can see you like it,” he chuckled under his breath.

“Of course I like it!” I said in an ‘are-you-kidding-me’ tone. “Where did you buy it?"

“Buy it?” he echoed. He laughed and when he was done laughing he answered my question. “I made it."
