6. Let’s Start

It was a Saturday, and my parents were going on a business trip for 4 months. Honestly, my parents have been really busy ever since our business started expanding. I didn’t really mind, they always got time to hang out with us and make up for their disappearance.

I was left alone in the house with my sister, Scarlet. She was going back to college next week and my parents were always proud of her. She was smart, pretty and talented. But despite all of those, she never bragged about it. Sometimes I wondered why she didn’t have a boyfriend, but she always told me that studies must always come first. I agreed with her, boyfriends can become a distraction in your studies.

I sighed, Scarlet left the house for a high school reunion. She was only gone for a few seconds but I felt bored already. There was a knock on my door and I went to open it. When I opened the door, I felt myself taken aback to see someone that I never expected to see in my front door.

I looked at Harry and he was there. In my froth door. Who ever thought that one of the most popular kids in school would come up in front door. I perfectly knew why he was there, he wanted to talk about the tutoring thing. But I had made up my mind that I was not going to push through with the tutoring thing.

“Hey!” he said with the same arrogant smile. How could he just show up in my front door and act like he had no problem at all?

“Deal’s off Styles,” I pointed out. “You didn’t show up yesterday so I’m gonna stop tutoring you."

“Look I’m sorry, I was busy.” I laughed at what he said. Busy? Yeah sure he was totally busy!!!

“I’m sorry did you say busy?” I asked trying to sustain all the laughter inside of me. Actually I wasn’t really laughing, his answer was just ridiculous.

“Yeah, I was busy-“ he began but I quickly cut him off.

“Yeah! You were totally busy putting your lips over your cheerleader girlfriend!” I yelled at him. I’m sure I caught him off guard since he seemed surprised. I’m sure he had no idea I saw him making out with his girlfriend.

“What are you talking about?” he asked. But I knew he was lying. He perfectly knew what I was talking about.

“Don’t lie, Styles! You perfectly know what I am talking about!"

“Look fine I admit it, but I swear I did not forget."

“Yeah, I know you didn’t forget. But you just got caught up with kissing and then you didn’t bother getting your ass to the library!” I paused. I needed some air. I was yelling at him probably since the start of the conversation. I cooled down a bit and started saying something to make him understand the whole purpose for the tutoring thing. “Look, Styles. I don’t care. If you choose to retain in high school it’s not my problem. Be my guest. But you should know, that this tutoring is not for me, it’s for your benefit."

He looked at me, and I knew my words had probably got to him. He sighed and then placed his hand on his forehead. I guess I made him guilty but I was glad I did. He was hopeless right now, I know he was. Why would he come all they way here to talk to me, if he didn’t really need the help?

“Fine,” I finally said after the long silence between us. “One more chance Harry. One more."

His head looked up right away and he gave me a hopeful look. “Are you alone?” he asked. He must have seen that no one had bothered to come out of my house and ask me all about the shouting.

“Yeah, my parents are away and my sister’s in a high school reunion,” I explained.

“Then how about we just tutor now?” he asked me. There was eagerness in his voice. I knew he didn’t want to retain in high school. I mean who would?

“Umm yeah sure,” I told him. I made way for him an he entered my house. He was the first classmate I ever allowed inside my house. Well I did invite Cindy and Beth, but they were my best friends. They were more of sisters than classmates.

He sat down in my couch and I looked at him. He really did look hopeless and lost. It was for the first time I had seen him seem so lost. Wow! Harry Styles, the coolest boys in school, was now looking really down. Most of the time, he would have been seen in the hallway or corridors with an arrogant and confident look. But now, he seemed so different.

“So are we gonna start?” he brought me back to reality with his same bossy tone. I sighed. Some things will never change in this guy.

“Oh yeah,” I said. “I’m gonna go get my book upstairs.” I went to my room and quickly looked for my books, and all the things we needed for studying. I went back down and saw him there texting.

I cleared my throat and he quickly placed his phone back in his pocket. “Sorry.” he said. “So let’s start.
