10. At The Park

I tutored him patiently, even if my blood was totally boiling. He tried to act dump at times, just to get me provoked or give me a hard time. He was a total pain.

I sighed. He kept texting, or calling someone. If not, someone would call him and he would answer and it seemed to take him forever to talk to the person. This time, his phone rang again and he went out to answer it. I just let him go, and take his time. Anyways, we were already quite finished.

I checked the time and it was already 5:30 pm. Shoot! I had to go home. I still had a project to do. I decided to wait for him, but again impatience kicked in. I tried to be more patient for a little while. But it seemed like he was never gonna finish talking to the person on the phone. I got up and fixed my things and left the library. I had to go home, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Besides, it probably made him happy that we were already finished.

I decided to pass by the park that day, and do my projects there. I really loved looking at the skies and the stars. It always made me cool my head, or ease me down. For me, it was the only way to escape from the things that are bothering me. I finished my projects quickly since it was already getting and I was really eager to look at the stars that night. I saw a shooting star and made a wish.

My wishes were really ridiculous.. All I really wanted was a good life and for my problems to just fade away. I sighed, I don't know if there is even such a thing as a life without problems.

"Thinking?" I looked up to see Harry. What in the world was he doing here? I nodded my head and he sat down beside me in the grass.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him. I wasn't in the mood of a company, well maybe I was. But I didn't need his company.

"Clearing my mind," he replied.

"From what?" I spat. "Isn't your life so perfect?"

"I guess that's what everyone thinks," he laughed and it just annoyed me.

"Well isn't that what you're trying to show? I mean, you walk in the corridors so proud like you're so confident about everything in life."

"Yeah, well I guess you know I'm not all I show," It took me time to realize what he trying to point out. He walked along those corridors like nothing was bothering him, but in reality he was struggling with his studies.

"Yeah oh," he paused and looked up to admire the stars. "You know when I went back to the library you were no longer there."

"Yeah, well I needed to go."

"Oh I actually thought you got annoyed with all my phone calls."

"Well-" I stopped. He laughed at me for being dumbfounded all of a sudden. Honestly, his laugh made the hair in my arms rise.

"I was quite shocked to see you here, you know."

"Yeah as if I'm not shocked to see you here," I mumbled. "Don't you have a car?"

"Yeah, well I always stop by the park." he reasoned out. I knew he was lying cause I've always been walking by the park and never did I see him here. I decided not to say anything and just look at the stars.

I lied down in the ground and looked at the stars. I didn't care what his opinion would be, I just wanted to do what I wanted to do.

"Umm, Sophie?" I turned to look at Harry, and sat back up in the grass. I didn't want to hear what his criticism would be this time.

"Thanks," I looked at him in confusion. "For helping me out." he quickly added. I was taken aback by what he said. I never ever expected him to thank me.

Maybe he wasn't all bad. But still I wondered why he would bother thanking me, he hated me!

"Your welcome, I guess."

"May I ask you something?" he asked. I nodded my head and waited for him to ask his question. "How come you never had boyfriend?"

I looked down at my feet, this question was so off topic. But I decided to answer him.

"I don't know. I guess I just never thought of having one."

"Well, I'm sure he's gonna be lucky." he mumbled. But it was loud enough for me to hear what he just said.

"Why is he lucky?" I asked him. Oops! I should have kept my mouth shut but there was on taking back what I had said. He laughed at me, before answering me.

"Well, first of all you're smart, kind and you're willing to help. Unlike some girlfriends, they only want their guy for pleasure. If you know what I mean." I understood him, but not really. But I couldn't help but realize that his tone had a pinch of jealousy in it. Well, I don't know if I was imagining it. But I probably did.

“Well if you put it that way, don’t you think that the guy’s only gonna like me for his benefit?"

“Well, probably.” There was silence between us, until I decided this was probably getting awkward. I got up and got my bag.

“I gotta go, see you tomorrow in school I guess.” I left without looking back at him. I had no idea what had just happened. In my point of view, it was really awkward. I’ve never expected Harry Styles to talk to me. After all, I am that weird girl that no body wants to talk to.
