Chapter 17

“Does this look like something a person in a gang’s girlfriend would wear?” I ask him through the mirror as I fixed the collar of my top.

“No, you look like a prude.” He answered without looking up from the book he had on his lap. I rolled my eyes at him and grabbed something off my vanity and lobbed it at him.

“Ow?” He said, impassively as he picked up the thing I threw at him which happened to be bracelets.

“Don’t look at me like you have no idea what you did wrong.” I told him, narrowing my eyes. “You know what you did wrong.”

“Okay, I’m sorry.” He said. “Just grab something and we can leave. You’ll look sexy as hell any other way.”

“No! It has to be perfect. I want to be feared and envied okay so pay attention.” I said jokingly.

“Well, sorry for not being totally interested. You woke me up at 4 in the morning for this.” He yawned as he rubbed his eyes sleepily. He looked adorable as he did that but I didn’t tell him that since he would have given me a lecture on how he’s in a gang and that he shouldn’t be called adorable and blah blah blah.

“Do you want me dressing like a slob?” I told him expressionless.

“No, I’m just saying, we’ve been at this for hours. It’s almost 8.” He rolled his eyes.

“Okay, fine.” I said. “Look at this properly because I think I’ll just wear this.”

He gave me a once over. “What kind of look were you looking for?”

“Slutty but classy.” I answered.

“Okay, change the top to...” He got off the bed and walked to my wardrobe, flicking through the hangers. “...this one.” He handed my the top.

“Who knew you had good fashion, Horan.” I mused with an amused expression.

“Oh shut up, Brink and get dressed.” He rolled his eyes.

I took off the top I was wearing and slipped into the sheer midnight blue sleeveless blouse he was holding out to me. My black bra was barely visible and it looked pretty classy. I wore black ripped skinny jeans and distressed black leather Jeffery Campbell’s.

“Now, that is what my girlfriend is supposed to look like.” Niall said with an appreciative look.

“What if I wore a tank top and sweats to school? What would you do?” I asked, stepping towards him.

“I’d dump your ass before walking into the school.” He said teasingly.

“Then I’ll just spread a rumour about you... with STD’s... from a gay guy.” I said with a wink.

“You wouldn’t dare.” He said with narrowed eyes.

“Oh, I would.” I smirked and walked out of my room, grabbing my bag at the same time. I walked down the stairs and grabbed an apple before getting a water bottle.

“When’s your parents coming home?” Niall asked as he sat on the bar stool in front of the island.

“Um, tonight or this afternoon. I don’t really know.” I answered before taking a bite into my apple. He just nodded his head halfheartedly.

“Come on, we have to go to school.” I said, putting my bottle in my bag with the apple hanging in my mouth.

“Do we have to.” He groaned.

“Yes. Because unlike you, I value my education.” I said, dragging him by his hand out the door while throwing the apple in the bin outside.

“Yeah, right.” Niall snorted.

“Haven’t you noticed my A’s in almost every subject?” I asked, getting into the passenger seat of his car.

He snorted as he put his Ray-bans on. “No.” He put the car in drive and sped down the quiet streets of Bane towards the school.

“Shows how much you pay attention, boyfriend.” I rolled my eyes.

“Hey, I’m badass.” He countered.

“Oh, yeah? What does that have to do with anything?” I answered.

“It means, I don’t pay attention. To anything.” He grinned arrogantly.

“Well, you better start paying attention or else you won’t have anything to pay attention.” I retaliated.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked with an amused expression.

“It means you won’t have me, dickhead.” I snapped and he chuckled.

“But you wouldn’t live without me, sweetie.” He smirked.

“I’ve done it once, I could do it again.” I muttered and he just chuckled again.

I rolled my eyes. Ladies and gentlemen, this is my boyfriend. He pulled into the school parking lot and parked in his usual spot in the corner. I pulled the visor down and touched up my make up, taking my sweet time. Niall rolled his eyes and got out of the car. I could literally hear the girls drooling and the boys seething in envy. I had to laugh at myself a little.

Part of me could not wait to see their faces and the other part of me just wished I didn’t have to go through this whole entrance thing. But this is Niall James Horan. Of course he’d want an entrance of his new girlfriend. Of course he’d want to smile with pride as he wrapped his arm around my waist. Of course he’d want to see all the jaws drop as he kissed me in front of everyone.

Oh well, might as well get it over with.

Niall opened my door and gave me his hand. I raised an eyebrow at him and he just shrugged with a smile tugging at his lips. I rolled my eyes and took it and he pulled me out of the car.

He did exactly what I thought he would. He grinned a smug little grin that showed all his pride as he wrapped his arm around my waist and leaned me against his car. He gave me a kiss on the lips that made my heart flutter. He watched everyone watch us with jaws hanging off their faces. I mentally rolled my eyes at everyone.

“Okay, Niall. You got your entrance, let’s go inside.” I said in a mocking tone.

“It feels good watching their reactions.” Niall shrugged as he moved his arm up to my shoulders and walked to the front doors, locking his car over his shoulder.

I poked his stomach. “You’re a weird guy, you know that.”

“It makes me all the more interesting.” He winked. I laughed at him and he gave me another kiss.

“Woah, PDA much.” I said, pushing his face away from me.

“Oh come on. Don’t tell me you’re one of those PDA-sensitive types of people.” He joked.

“I’m not. Just let them recover okay. You’re practically torturing them.” I stood on my toes and whispered into his ear. “Look at those girls right there.” I gestured to the group of blondes that was standing off to the side watching us with the most jealous faces anyone’s ever worn. “They’re thinking of so many ways of how to kill me right now. And I don’t want to die at a young age so stop.” I pulled away from him after biting his earlobe discreetly.

“Maybe you should stop. You’re the one making it look like you’re whispering sweet nothings to me.” He laughed.

“GEORGIA GRACE BRINK!” I heard Cindy’s shrill voice yell out and everyone’s head turned to her.

“Ah crap.” I muttered and Niall chuckled.

Cindy stormed her way to me with a glare on her face. “Why didn’t you tell me!?”

“It was a... spur in the moment kind of thing?” I said, the sentence coming out more like a question.

“Don’t you lie to me! You had all weekend to tell me!” She pointed accusingly.

“Niall, back me up!” I elbowed him in the ribs but he skillfully dodged it.

“Sorry, honey, no can do.” He grinned and walked away. I huffed in annoyance. Some boyfriend.

“Sorry, Cindy.” I apologised, praying to god that she’ll stop giving me the stink eye.

“Ugh, fine, whatever.” She rolled her eyes. “By the way, everyone’s talking about your party. You know the whole James and Niall thing. Who is James, by the way?”

“Just this guy.” I waved my hand and walked past her and down the hallway.

“Oh, come one Georgia. I need the details to feed Gina the Gossip. She’s telling people that Niall and James know each other and that the whole ‘body’ thing they were talking about in Two Minute Truth was James’ uncle. And a whole bunch of bullshit which involves you too.” Cindy told me.

“Are you kidding me? That’s actually really stupid. What is she saying about me?” I asked her.

“She’s saying you’re in some love triangle with the two.” She said with calculating eyes. As if scrutinizing my face to see if it was true or not. I kept my face impassive and turned the other way.

“Is it true?” She asked, leaning forward to look at my face, I stopped in front of my locker and opened the metal door. “Is it?” She asked again, leaning against the other locker.

I pursed my lips. “No, it isn’t.” I answered her finally. She sighed knowing she couldn’t get anything else off me.

“So what’s it like being Niall Horan’s girlfriend?” She asked, changing the subject indiscreetly.

I shrugged my shoulders. “I only became his girlfriend after the party.”

“But you spent the whole weekend with him?” She said with a knowing smirk.

“Yes.” I tell her and shut my locker door.

“You two are really cute, you know.” Cindy commented.

“Thanks?” I answered with a slight laugh.

“No, I’m serious. I mean not to sound really cliché or anything but he looks at your differently.” She told me.

I laughed. “Yeah, right.”

“No, I’m serious. I mean he rarely even lets anyone in his ferarri. That’s like his baby. He doesn’t even let the delinquents he hangs out with in the car. Plus, he smiles more often since that first day you came. And he’s less hostile.” She listed.

“Cindy, I’m nothing different.” I answered.

“Who are you trying to convince?” She asked. She didn’t let me answer though, she just walked away. I just watched her leave with a confused look on my face.

I shouldn’t even have written this chapter! My procrastination is getting waaaaaaaaay out of hand.

But I don’t regret it.
