5. The Baby

Third person's P.O.V

A few months had passed and both Brynn and Em were heavily pregnant. Brynn had told Em about her pregnancy a week after the accident. None of them like to talk about that day.

Em was laying on the couch, Kaylee and Matthew watching Rugrats, Em was happy they had decided to air the show once again, she used to watch it with her little cousin, before she moved to Florida.

Kaylee was laughing at Tommy, one of the characters, as he waddled down the street, ready 'to save the world!'

Em felt a hard kick, harder than usual, she doubled over in pain. She knew this feeling. A contraction. She was too early! She had at least two months left!

"Kaylee, Matthew grab the bags mummy packed for you! Louis!! He's coming!" She yelled and wet warm liquid between her legs, her water broke. "Lou! NOW!"

The drive to the hospital was filled with painful screams and deep breaths.

Brynn and Harry had gotten a call, indicating the baby had been born. They sped to the hospital with large smiles and worried hearts. "Do you think the baby is alright?" Brynn asked a bit nervous, scared even.

"Yeah, I think he'll be just fine."

Em and Louis had no idea the joy a baby boy would bring. His little coos and finger holding. The way he sucked on his little pacifier as he slept. His tiny toothless baby grin. The way Kaylee and Matthew would hold him tight and not want to let go.

Kaylee and Matthew both knew their baby brother, Nash, was a bit odd, different. His smile was lopsided and he always looked a bit tired. Their parents called this 'Autism'. They knew no meaning of the word, nor what it did to a person and their family.

Em and Louis were sure they would let Nash live a normal life. They wouldn't give him special treatment for his 'disability' though, they didn't think of it as that. They think of it as 'uniquetism' not 'autism'.
