Yet her constant position behind the camera lens has kept her isolated from relationships. What happens when her passion for photography lands her a job as One Directions personal photographer? Will the luscious lifestyle of the boys take her from the photographer to the photographed? Or will she continue to live vicariously through the filter of her lens?
Well, there’s only one way to find out.
A Harry Styles fanfic.

5. Stares and Glares

He was staring again.

Harry had been staring at Allyson ever since she walked into the auditorium to snap a few photos of the boys. She loved these candid shots of them, and she knew the fans would too, it made them seem more real and less godlike.

He never just looked at her; she had known him a little over a week and already she was classifying how he looked at her. He either stared, when he was intrigued or studying her, or glared when he didn’t like what she was saying. If she was being honest it was incredibly frustrating!

‘What is he staring at now?’ she thought running a hand through her hair. It fell down her back in soft curls. She had tried extra hard to look good without looking like she was trying.

She was wearing a fitted white top and her favorite jeans. They never failed to make her butt look good, a long shiny silver necklace with a blue stone hanging on it, and brown lace up, knee high boots.

Her goal was to get Harry to notice her again. He was truly looking at her last night. His stares weren’t glares and vice versa. He was seeing her it was almost like he had X-ray vision. The intensity of that gaze made her flush.

But today was different. The look he was giving her wasn’t passionate, it was almost questioning. He seemed puzzled, which only proceeded to confuse Ally.

To distract herself she snapped a few more picture, trying to get all the guys singing. She got a few good ones of the group but Harry was off in his own world. He seemed distant from the rest of the group and that puzzled Ally more.

So she took a few of just him, and then of the just the other boys so it didn’t seem like she was giving him any special attention. Secretly though she could photograph Harry all day. Even when he was moody he was attractive.

She was only brought out of her trance at the sound of a loud voice booming over her thoughts:

“Alright that’s a wrap! You boys are free for the rest of the day but remember tomorrow we’re on the bus! Great work today guys!” Paul their manager hollered.

Niall, Liam, Zayn, and Louis all awkwardly congregated to one side of the stage leaving Harry on the other. He didn’t seem to mind being isolate however, he merely shook his curls and through on his beanie.

Liam looked at Ally and beckoned her over to the group.

“What’s up guys? I got some really good individual shots today,” Ally said scanning through her camera for a good one, but they stopped her.

“Umm, Ally, we may have pissed Harry off,” Niall started looking nervously in the curly haired boys direction.

“Yeah he was talking nonsense about you and him getting frisky and when we said you’d never go for a guys like him he got all moody,” Louis said quietly.

“He said we were getting frisky?!” Ally practically yelled. She received chorus of shushing in return.

“ Keep your voice down! We didn’t believe him! We thought he was being cocky and trying to brag about getting with the beautiful photographer. But it appears we have really struck a nerve,” Liam said covering her mouth with his hand.

“So I guess we just want you to be careful around him. We really like having you as a part of our team, we wouldn’t want our good pal scaring you off,” Zayn teased pinching her cheek.

Ally mumbled her response through Liam’s hand.

“What was that?” Niall asked with a grin.

“Yeah couldn’t hear you Ally,”

“I said, you guys are sweet but I can keep Mr. Moody Styles in check. And we were definitely not getting frisky. Just so we’re clear,” she said pointedly looking over towards Harry who was once again on his phone. Did he ever put that thing down?

“Alright love, see you tomorrow,” she heard as they walked off leaving her alone in the huge auditorium with Harry.

Finally,” Harry thought rolling his eyes. He had been watching their little pow wow out of the corner of his eye and he’d bet anything he knew exactly what they were talking to Allyson about.

When they finally left she lingered, which pleased him. He was hoping she’d stick around so he could talk to her. He was eager to see her after last night’s photo shoot.

Making his way toward her he drank her in with his eyes. She was busy scrolling through photos and he took the opportunity to check her out. His eyes ran up and down her body several times, drinking her in. She looked good today he concluded.

‘She looks good everyday,’ he mentally correctly.

“Allyson,” he said simply throwing his hands deep in his pockets.

She looked up startled by the broken silence, “Hello Harry,” she replied looking suspiciously at him “What can I do for you?” she continued when he didn’t say a word.

“Nothing in particular, I was just thinking about yesterday...” he began but she cut him off.

“Yesterday, yes let’s think about yesterday. Telling the guys that we got frisky?! You are unbelievable!” she interjected sternly.

“Whoa, calm down blondie, I may have exaggerated a little, but it made them all insanely jealous,” he smirked down at her. “Besides, you can’t tell me pushing me against a wall and pulling my shirt apart isn’t a little frisky,” his smirk got even bigger if that was possible.

Her cheeks flushed red. She had to admit he had a point. It would have seemed incredibly forward had anyone seen her do that. In her defense she was only responding to his challenge! And it had worked, he took amazing shots afterwards.

“I was only evoking your emotion,” she said looking anywhere but at him. “It wasn’t as if I was trying anything funny,” she mumbled the last part.

Harry grinned; he loved seeing her so flushed. Her cheeks had a rosy tint and she was so nervous. It was cute how easy it was to make her nervous.

‘She certainly isn’t used to the attention,’ he thought looking at her again.

“Whatever you say Meyers,” he said smugly. “Just know I thought about your little stunt all last night,” he whispered in her ear snaking a hand to her lower back, the other still tucked in his pocket. “You challenged me, I like that”

“I.. I.. “ she stammered fighting the shivers that ran down her spine. His warm hand on her back pulled her as close to him as the camera dangling around her neck would allow.

He chuckled at her inability to respond before continuing, “One more thing, in case you were wondering yes I noticed your outfit. Feel free to wear those jeans to our next one on one shoot” and with that he stepped away from her and strode towards the door as if nothing had happened.

He was going to enjoy getting this good girl to come out from behind the camera and have some fun.
