9. Chapter 9

Harry’s POV

Lexi looked at me her face full of curiosity and wonder. Her face said nothing leaving me in the dark, her head tilted to the side.

“Lexi?” I said.

She said nothing, her cheeks turning a shade of red. Her eyes glistened as tears appeared unwelcomingly.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“Why?” she asked her voice full of sadness.

“I don’t understand?”

“You should have made up an excuse or something” she said coldly.

“Why?” I asked. “Do you not want me to get to know your family?” I asked slightly agitated.

“Of course I do Harry, I want you to be a part of my family get to know the people who raised me. But it’s more complicated than that” she shrugged.

“How so?”

“I well I’m worried” she admitted.

“About what?”

“Her” she said her voice in disgust.

“Jay?” I asked.

She nodded not saying anything. I shook my head wrapping her in my arms, she leant her head on my chest.

“You have nothing to worry about” I whispered uncertainly.

I mean that was the truth… I would never do anything against Lexi, but I can’t get Jay out of my mind. She kissed me gently before rubbing her cheeks.

“It’s been a long day I’m going to bed wanna come?” she asked seductively.

“In a minute” I smiled at her.

She nodded going out of the room and up the stairs to my bedroom. I sat down on the sofa pulling out my phone, I noticed Zayn calling me.

“Zayn?” I asked.

“Hey bro, Louis was wondering about Lexi” he laughed.

I heard Louis mutter in the background “Ask him if he got a pic.”

“Louis said did you get a pic of her?”

“No” I said simultaneously.

Suddenly it was Louis speaking to me “Why the hell not?” he moaned.

“I was right Louis she was definitely ugly, you wouldn’t like her” part of me felt ashamed saying this to him, another part glad.

“Oh damn, I had such high hopes for her” he sighed. “How were they anyway?”

“I don’t know how to explain them, her dad scared me Mr overprotective I should say. Her mum was kind and loving, maybe a bit too much to handle. Her sister, yeah she was nice” I smiled mentioning her.

“The ugly ones always are” he burst out laughing.

I rolled my eyes “Dude you deserve to end up with no one the way you treat girls.”

“Yeah yeah, they love it.”

“Hm anyway I’m going see you soon, night” I hang up.

I scrolled through the pictures on my phone, a sensation running through me as I studied her face. The sensation was strong and overpowering, nothing like I have ever felt. I flicked onto the last one of me and her and sighed, what am I doing?

Jamie’s POV

I leant my head back on the car seat closing my eyes. My lips curved into a smile as I thought about the events of today. So she’s dating Harry Styles, weeks ago hell days ago that wouldn’t have bothered me, causing no effect on my life. But now jealousy ran through me as I thought about them together. She didn’t deserve him, he was too good for her he deserved someone decent, someone he can have a laugh with, someone like me…

I shook my head I need to stay clear of them, too much drama for my liking. This is the kind you come across in school, a place I escaped from. He may be good looking and all but you can find that anywhere. The spark is more hard to find, very hard to be exact. I haven’t felt that way about anyone since James, that strong connection you share with someone. My phone lit up, I frowned realising it was from Jude, why can’t he get the message I’m not fucking interested.

Next Saturday 7pm the club spirit, meet me there – Jude.

So he thinks that with one text he can get me there, do girls really fall for that kind of shit?

Mm. I replied, I know I shouldn’t leave him hanging but that’s when my sister is coming. I may need some sort of distraction.

“So Jamie, I am planning the whole weekend and I want you to be a part of it” my mum smiled.

“Why?” I asked anger filling my body.

“Because I want him to see us as a family, a happy one, one he can be a part of.”

“That’s lies, I think he should see us for who we really are not some fake happy people who have sticks up their asses” I spat through my teeth.

She rolled her eyes “We’re not as bad as you think.”

“So two of your daughters getting away didn’t make it clear enough huh?” I said coldly.

“Lexi never ran, she couldn’t handle you anymore” she cried.

“How is it my fault?” I shouted.

“You pushed her away from us, I am not letting that happen again” she shook her head.

“I pushed her away? Please tell me you are joking for fuck sake.”

“You know me I never joke.”

I stopped talking, nothing would ever get through to her. She stopped the car at mine, I jumped out of the car avoiding awkward good byes.

“Jamie” she called after me.

I ran inside locking the door behind me, she can talk to me tomorrow or the day after. I found a bottle of whiskey in my cupboard, I gulped some down. I lay down on the floor lost in a daze, my thoughts puzzled. I stared at the ceiling and started to laugh, I craved something but I wasn’t sure what.
