38. Chapter 37

Harry’s POV

“I need your phone Jay,” I held out my hand.

“Why?”

“Louis has a friend who is good with that sort of stuff. He can tell me who the phone belongs to.”

“I know who it is Harry it’s fine, let’s just leave it.”

I sighed nodding my head, if she wasn’t going to give me it I would have to take it. After she disappeared out the room I grabbed her phone running out the door. Who knows how much time I have until she realises my intentions.

“Harry it’s nice to see you” Ryan smiled at me.

“You too, I need a favour?”

“What kind of favour?” he raised his brow.

“Someone close to me has been receiving texts from an unknown number. I was wondering if you could find out who it’s from?”

“Okay do you have the phone?”

I nodded passing it to him, he scanned it.

“Give me one hour” he said walking away from me.

The sun had disappeared hidden by the clouds. People ran through the puddles splashing water everywhere. I remember when Louis and I used to do this. We wouldn’t stop until everyone was wet. I’m surprised Louis was okay with me after everything, I’ve been a dick to him.

“Harry?” Ryan came up from behind me.

I jumped looking back at him “sorry yeah?”

He handed me the phone and a piece of paper “I couldn’t get a name, but here is the number and address.”

“Thank you” I shook his hand.

“Tell Louis I said hi.”

“I will,” I looked down at the piece of paper.

23 Gravestone Avenue…

I’ve seen a road sign for that last time I was here. I got into my car and wrote the whole address in my satnav. The directions lead me straight to an old warehouse. I stopped the car and got out going through the forest leading me up to the door. The door was painted brown, only to have been ruined by the rust that covered it.

A man answered the door. He wore a white top and jeans. His hair dyed dark brown, with sandy coloured roots. He must have not shaved in about a week, his stubble showing.

“Can I help you?” he asked agitated.

“Sorry, are you the only person who lives here?”

He nodded “am I in trouble or something?” his patronising tone instantly pissing me off.

“No, when did you move in here?”

“I’m sorry looks like you’ll have to wait for my lawyer” he laughed.

I rolled my eyes “Alright no need to be rude” I growled.

“If I were you I would get the hell away from here” he looked right through me.

“Babe who’s at the door…” Lexi looked at me her eyes widened.

“You” I hissed.

“Harry what are you doing here?”

“I think I should be asking you that, so it’s you it’s been you all along?” I shouted.

“I don’t understand…”

“Don’t play dumb with me, that shit’s got old how could you do that to her?”

“You can’t tell her Harry,” she looked at the man beside her. “It would kill her, literally.”

“She think’s its Jake” I shouted.

The man in front of me covered his mouth in an attempt to hide his laugher.

“You think this is funny?” I asked him. “Who is this guy?” I asked Lexi.

She gasped “nobody it doesn’t matter,”

The man laughed harder “get out of here” he ordered.

I pushed against him “you think treating a girl like that is funny? Tormenting her?” I looked at Lex “so what he is your assistant, he helps you?”

“Lex you better get this fucker away from me before I break his neck” the man shouted at her.

She flinched looking at me “please go, I can’t explain now but please just go.”

“Don’t tell me what to do, what the fuck do you expect me to say to Jay?”

“Not everything is about her” Lexi sulked.

My eyes bulged from their sockets, I choked on my laughter.

“You are so self-absorbed. You’ve created this situation sending her stupid texts.”

“What texts?” she asked tilting her head.

I rolled my eyes ignoring her. I looked at the man who lent on the door frame.

“Good luck with her” I laughed maliciously.

“Oh she’s not my problem” he growled.

Lexi frowned and looked at him.

“Do you love her?” he asked.

“Who Lexi, I could never love someone like that” I said coldly.

“No Jay.”

“Yes I do.”

His body tensed “and she loves you?”

I nodded more certain than ever.

“Well good luck with her” he smiled shutting the door in my face.

“Asshole” I muttered getting back into my car.

If Jay finds out it’s Lexi it would kill her.

Jamie’s POV

“Harry where have you been, did you find out?”

He shook his head “no it’s a dead end.”

I sighed “I suppose I was hoping it wasn’t Jake.”

He wrapped his arms around me “forget about it.”

He passed me back my phone. I gulped noticing I had another message. You’d think I would be used to it by now.

You’re boyfriend’s warm, but not quite hot enough. Maybe he needs to think outside the box, see what’s staring him in the face – Unknown.

Harry looked down at my phone, then back up to me.

“Harry” I looked at him.

“I didn’t want to make you upset” he frowned.

“What is it?” I demanded.

“I may have lied before” he shied away from me.

“Tell me.”

“It led me to an address, and I bumped into…”

“Who?” I shouted.

“Lexi” he whispered.

My fingers wrapped around my phone, I tried to catch my breath.

“Give me the address now” I ordered.

He passed me the bit of paper and sat back down on the sofa.

“I’ll give you some space.”

I closed my eyes kissing him “I have to see her, I need to know why.”

He placed his hands on my back “be careful okay?”

I nodded “that bitch needs a slap” I growled.
