22. Chapter 21

It’s been 2 days since I last spoke to her, do you think she chucked my number away? But then again could I really blame her, what am I even doing giving it to her? I need to stop overthinking this, I decided to text Liam. He is always the best person who gives advice.

Liam what are you doing right now? – Harry.

Hanging with Lenni, want to come over? – Liam.

Do you guys mind? – Harry.

It’s fine, we were going to watch a film but Lenni can’t decide what one so we’re stuck here doing nothing ha – Liam.

Okay I will be over soon – Harry.

I walked to Liam’s who also lived close to me, we made sure we lived within a mile of each other in case of an emergency. I didn’t own a key to his so I had to ring the bell like everybody else. Lenni answered the door, giving me her best smile.

“Hey” I smiled at her.

She hugged me “You alright?”

I nodded “I need advice.”

She rolled her eyes “It’s not about Lexi is it?”

“Kind of…” I knew how much she hated Lexi, for some reason they never got on.

“Sorry come in” she gestured me to enter.

I walked past her into the living room where Liam was, Lenni went and sat down next to him. He wrapped his arms around her kissing her cheek, oh how I envied their relationship. Everything seemed so perfect, no complications.

“What’s up?” Liam asked.

“You promise you won’t judge, and this information doesn’t go any further then this house?”

They both nodded.

I sighed “I like someone.”

“I don’t understand” Liam said.

“I can’t explain it Liam, when I’m with her I feel completely myself. I don’t have to worry about a thing, about what I say or do.”

“And Lexi?” he asked.

“She’s my Lex I could never hurt her.”

“Yet you like someone else Haz?”

“Dump Lex and date her simple” Lenni smiled.

I knew she would say something like that, I laughed.

“It’s even more complicated than that” I admitted.

“When isn’t it?” Liam moaned.

Lenni slapped him playfully and looked back at me “Why?”

I took a deep breath “It’s her sister.”

Lenni covered her mouth trying not to laugh “You’re kidding?” she shrieked.

“I know, I don’t understand it.”

“Does Lex know?” he asked.

I shook my head “Of course not, do you think I’d be here if she did?”

“Fair point, you need to decide what you want.”

“I know, but I could never do that to Lex I just couldn’t.”

“Why?” Lenni moaned, “She doesn’t care about you.”

“Yes she does, she just has a hard way of showing it sometimes.”

“Mm” she mumbled.

Someone knocked on that door at that moment, I got up and answered it. I mean it was sort of my home in some way. Louis was standing there, his face smug.

“What’s up with you?” I asked.

“Just talking to this girl, anyway the rest of the gang is here” he smiled as the rest approached.

I saw a girl standing next to Zayn, she was very pretty. Medium height, long brown hair that just passed her shoulders, her big brown eyes stared back at me.

“Dude stop checking out my girl” Zayn whined.

I pulled my eyes away from her and looked at him and laughed.

“Sorry” I smirked. “Come in guys,” I left the door open as I went in the living room.

I sat down next to Lenni to give the rest room on the other sofa.

“Not a word” I whispered to her.

She nodded and nudged Liam who smiled and nodded at me. They would have been my favourite couple to hang with, if it wasn’t for Lexi.

“So who’s this?” I smiled at the girl sitting beside Zayn.

“This is Alexis” he smiled.

I stood up and offered her my hand “It’s nice to meet you.”

She shook my hand and looked up to me “You too” she smiled timidly.

I nodded sitting back down wrapping one of my arms around Lenni, she leant her head on my chest. Liam looked at us questionably before pulling her closer to him. I rolled my eyes, he knows Lenni loves him more than life itself. But she is one of my closest friends, I used to be like this with Louis. I smiled remembering the old us, I stopped hanging around with them as much when I met Lex.

“So how was Lex’s mum and dads?” Louis asked.

“Painful” I creased my eyebrows thinking about it.

“Oh god, was her sister there?”

I felt Liam and Lenni’s eyes on me as I answered “Yeah not really though” I shrugged.

“Dude you have to show me a picture of her.”

“Sorry” I frowned.

“Might go and ask Lex make up some excuse.”

I said nothing more, it’s best to shut up when Louis is like this.

Jay’s POV

My head was spinning, over the past couple of days I have drank myself into oblivion. If someone were to ask me a question about those days I wouldn’t be able to answer. I have no memory, which only means I’ve probably done something stupid. But I suppose it’s best I’ve forgotten about it. Now the drink was finally wearing off the emptiness returned, whatever I was doing was not working. Ring him my inner goddess interrupted my thoughts. I knew there was no fighting with her, she would always win. I found the number in one of my jean pockets, another thing I need to wash. My hands trembled as I dialled the number.

“Hello?” he asked agitated.

“Someone’s in a good mood” I laughed.

“Jay” he whispered. I heard movement from the other end along with distant voices, “For a moment I thought you had lost my number” he joked.

“Yeah sorry it’s been a hectic past couple of days” he doesn’t need to know what happened.

“Yeah yeah I understand, so how are you?” he asked.

Shit… “I’m good.”

“Yeah same.”

“Good” I said awkwardly. “I don’t even know why I’m calling, I should probably…”

“How about we go to lunch?” he interrupted me.

I paused knowing this wouldn’t end well, I felt my inner goddess nudge me to say yes.

“Okay when?”

“How about tomorrow, or is that too soon?”

“Someone’s eager” I mocked him. “Yeah tomorrow is good, when and where?”

“Is there any way you could come here?” he asked.

No I have no money whatsoever. “Yeah that’s fine, I’ll get the train” my inner goddess spoke for me.

“Okay, well if you text me when you’re at the train station I’ll come and meet you?”

“Okay, so I guess I’ll see you then.”

“See you” he said before hanging up.

I would not allow myself to think for the rest of the day, I am too embarrassed to comment on what I have just done.
