Kari's P.O.V.

I giggled as Lou brushed his nose against mine. A small smile creped on his face. Its been about 5 days that we have been here. And those five days had to be the best days of my life. Lou and I were perfect and my bond with the family growing stronger and stronger. I felt myself behind brought up onto Lou's chest as I laid with him in the middle of the tulip field. I rested my head on his chest and heard his soft heart beat.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked softly.

"Your heart." I said honestly. His chest slowly moved up and down. I felt his legs moved from under me.

"Sit up." He said. I did as I was told and moved from my position to kneeing beside him. He curled his knees to his chest. "Stand in front of my feet." He said. I did so, standing in front of his feet that were up. His feet were placed near my abdomen. He held both my hands and I leaned in. Before I knew it I was up in the air supported by his feet that were holding me up. I panicked for a sec thinking I was gonna fall. "I got you." Lou said holding my hands tighter. I looked in his affectionate eyes and trusted him with all my heart. I laughed as he moved his legs up and down making me move also. His feet tickled my stomach. I laughed so much I fell right on his chest. We both laughed until are faces red.

Soon when the laughing dialed down I took one look at Lou. One long hard look at Lou. His face was perfect and upon his lips were a soft, smooth smirk. But his small smirk turned into a frown as my face did also.

"What's the matter?" He asked.

"What's that?" I asked as I could see from where we were, a familiar small tan car pulling up in the drive way. Reality hit me as she stepped out. Her small high heels hitting the floor. We could hear then from where we were. Lou stood up with a worried look. He extended his hand to help me off the ground. Once I was up a immediately hooked onto his arms with both hands. He looked at me and placed a sweet, calming kiss on my lips.

"Everything's gonna be find, yeah?" I just nodded.

I was so nervous. What if she was here to take me back? The means I have to leave.

Johannah's P.O.V.

I jumped as I heard the door bell ring. I chuckled to myself imagining how I looked like being all frazzled. I set the bowl of fruit and book I had on my hand on the table and walked to the door to answer.

"Lou I told you to use the...back door...You?" I asked shocked.

"Hello Johannah. Remember me? I dropped Kari off here."

"Yes. I-I remember. Um, Please come in." I said opening the door wider. She stepped in and looked around.

"I thought you were back at the house but neighbors told me you were on Thanksgiving break." She said taking a seat at the dining table. She set her small purse on the table and folded her hands around her legs in a very classy manner.

"Oh I'm sorry I should've called." I informed. "Thirsty?" I asked.

"Oh no thank you dear." She said looking around. Our heads both turned toward the door when hearing it close. We looked and saw Lou and Kari there. Kari was holding on to Lou like she was a lost child that was terrified. "Kari how wonderful to see you. And you young man I don't like I have met you." The agency lady said in a very  prissy way. Lou and Kari walked slowly toward her. Lou extended his hand introducing himself.

"This is Louis. My son." I said.

"Nice to meet you." He said very seriously. The agency lady nodded and turned toward Kari.

"Remember me?" She asked with a wide almost scary smile. Kari nodded and hid her face behind Lou's shoulder. He grabbed Kari's and didn't let go. I saw his firm grip tighten. "So I came here with good news." She said cheerful. I took a seat and Lou and Kari stood in there same position. "Kari your parents are ready to take you back. The agency set me over to get you,  Isn't that exciting!!" She said with smile. I could see in Kari's eyes fear and anxiety. But before anyone could say anything she ran. She ran up the stairs to her room.

"Kari!" Lou called after her following her up in the room.

"Mum?" A little voice said behind me. I turned to see Cassie. "What's going on?" She asked.

"Go to your room Cassie."

"But I-"

"Go!" I said sternly. She walked to her room. Before she closed the door she nodded to me. I knew she understood.

"Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear." The agency lady said flicking her short blond hair to the side. "Wasn't that shocking.

Kari's P.O.V.

Go back? Go Back?! But I don't want to go back. Back to abuse, and fear and trauma. I cant. I cried into my pillow. My sobs filled the door.

"Kari please open the door." I heard Lou say. I ran up and opened the door and quickly embraced him in my arms. Not letting go. I cried in his chest. He walked a little farther in the room and closed the door not letting me go.

"I d-don't want t-to g-go back." I sobbed.

"I know baby, I know." He said kissing the top of my forehead. He cupped my face in his large hands and looked in my eyes. "They aren't taking you away from me." He said.

"B-But she h-has to." I cried.

"She wont." He said sternly. "Not without a fight she wont." He let go of me and ran down the stair back to the agency lady. "Lou!" I shouted back after him. I followed him down the stairs trying to get as close as possible to him but he was too fast. He ran to the dining area froze. When I finally caught up I could see it too. The lady was just about to hand Johannah the papers to let me go. Before I could think Lou got into the scene and snatched the papered from her hand.

"Your not taking her." He said.

"Lou don't." I said putting my hand on his shoulder.

"I want you to know young man that this is uncivilized behavior."

"I don't care you not taking her back." He said. His eyes grew dark and his jaw tightened. His hand held the paper so tight that you could see the veins in his arm and hands.

"Louis please." I said starting to cry again.

"No! She isn't taking you!" He yelled. This was the loudest I have ever heard him yell. It frightened me. The agency lady walked toward me. Louis pushed me behind him.

"Ok listen. Your just a boy. You don't understand what its like. Her family the ones who raised her are taking her back whether you like it or not." She said sternly.

"She doesn't want to go back!"

"Of course she does. That's her family. The ones she loves. She didn't even want to come here in the first place." She noted.

"Things changed!" He shouted. I buried my head into his neck from  behind.

"What?" She said sarcastic. "She fell in love?" She said sticking out her lips and batting her eyes. "Love never gets you anywhere." She said sternly. She walked close to Lou and put her lips near his ear. "What ever falls breaks," She said. He gripped my arm tightly getting tighter by every word she said. "And love is one of them." His grip hurt my arm and I could feel my fingers turning blue from the loss of circulation.

"Your not taking her." He said.

"Its not your choice." She said and snatched the papers out of his hands back to Johannah. I tried to free my arm but I couldn't.

"Lou..." I whispered. He didn't move. "Lou your hurting me." I whispered as a tear fell from my eye. Johannah held the half wrinkled paper in her hand.

"Mum please." Lou said as tears fell from his eyes. "Please don't sign it." He begged crying. She looked at him with much sympathy. Her eyes welling with tears also.

"Louis please. I'll be fine." I whispered in his ear. He turned to me. Eyes puffy and tears coming down like rain drops.

"No." He whispered. "I don't want you to go." He cried.

"I have to." I cried. "I'm so sorry."

I watched as Johannah slowly signed her name in perfect script. When Lou knew she had done it he embraced me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and didn't let go. I wept in his neck and he sobbed into mine.

"Thank you." I heard the agency lady say. "Does she have everything with her here?"

"I believe so." Johannah said sadly.

Lou slowly let go but gripped both my hands. He sniffed trying not to cry again.

"Can she at least have one more night?" Johannah asked.

"Of course not." She chuckled. "She needs to be back home by tonight."

I just stared into Lou's red eyes as he looked into mine.

"Lou?" I heard Johannah say. "Please help her pack." He nodded slowly and followed me up the stairs our hands still not separating.

I zipped my suitcase. My hands shaking caused by my anxiety. Lou took hold of my hands. I looked at him with tears in my eyes, he looked back the same way. I nodded slowly. He closed his eyes and sighed. Our hands separated and I gripped the handle on my suitcase. I placed it on the floor and rolled it to the door. Lou closed it behind me. I stopped when I saw a familiar small body in my way. I kneeled down to her level and embraced her in a warm hug.

"Don't forget me." She said with tears in her eyes.

"Never." I said moving a piece of hair from her eyes. I kissed her forehead and gave her one last hug. When getting back up Lou's hand was placed on my waist.

"Lets go." He whispered.

I nodded and we walked down the stair. Lou held onto my suitcase for me. He held it till we got outside to the front. The passenger seat was open. I saw Johannah waiting to say goodbye. I immediately hugged her. I could hear her soft weeps. When we separated. She took a good look at me.

"The first day I met you I knew you were meant to be with us. You mean everything to this family don't you forget that. You are loved Kari. I loved you sweetie." She said. I couldn't help but embrace her again. I cried in her neck.

"I love you too." I said and she kissed my cheek. The last to say goodbye to was Lou. I saw in his eyes the fullest amount of tears. I gave him a hug. Which seemed to last forever. I looked at him and he nodded. I pecked his lips. We didn't say anything. Just looked at each other. I separated from him and took my suitcase from him and walked toward the car. I cant say goodbye like this. We were at least 10 feet away from each other. But still not to late to say a better goodbye. I turned to look at Louis who was still in his same position, hands in his pockets and tears falling from his eyes. I dropped my stuff and ran back. I couldn't say goodbye like this. I ran into his wide open arms ready for me to come in. He knew we needed to finished this the right way. He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around him. I held his face in my hands and in the moment that sweet, delicate moment in time we kissed. Not just any kiss. We smashed are lips together, breathing heavy from are nose, his tongue exploring my mouth. The small moment seemed like an eternity. We separated.

"I love you, so much." He said with tears pouring from his eyes.

"I love you too." I said. He kissed my nose and set me down. I walked back to the car the agency lady held the passengers door open. But I turned away and opened the back door and sat in the back. She walked slowly to then other side. I opened the window to see Lou running to the car right when she close the car door he got to the car. He held my hand from the window.

"I'll find you ok?" He said quickly.

"Step away from the car." She sternly said.

"I'll be back for you." He said and she started the car and drove off our hands separated. And that's all I remember are hands separating the window rolling back up and many tears falling, the day I left the perfect family.

It'd been a half hour. She tried to make conversation. But I wouldn't reply. I was shocked how fast the people you love can be taken away from you. I got out my sketch book. The thing I get out when I feel this way. I opened to a clean page and I noticed it was my last page. I needed a new one. I saved the best for last. I started to draw Louis from memory. I drew him the way he looked before I left. Head down. Upset. My memory of Louis was so clear and powerful that even if I hadn't seen him in 10 years I would still remember him like the back of my hand. My pencil ran across the pad. And soon I was done and it was perfect. The best drawing I've ever draw of Louis. (By the way the new cover is the drawing she drew.)

I flipped through the pages in my book. The reminded me of the old memories. Cassie and Lou playing video games. Johannah reading. Louis blowing a kiss. So many memories. So many happy times. I searched through my phone in my bag. It wasn't there.

"I think I left my phone." I said.

"Its right here." She said handing it to me. "Just making some changes to your contacts."

"What the?" I checked the contact list. No Johannah, no Kennedy, no Derek, and no Lou! "Where did all my contacts go?!" I yelled.

"They are deleted and blocked so they cant contact you."

"What the fuck no!!"

"Language Kari!"

I sunk into my seat and curled up into a ball. I officially hated her. She already took everything away from me now she took away my last chance of ever talking to any of the people I met in Doncaster.
