Look After You (Louis Tomlinson Fanfiction)

Kari. 19 year old girl. Parents were a crazed abusive people and she was bullied in school. Finally the cops took her away from her violent parents and terrible neighbor hood. And in a matter of a week was in her new foster home. The Tomlinson's. But will her crazed parents find her and take her back to her dark past or will she stay for love of her new family?

2. New Home...

"You know the roads here are from the late 17 hundreds"

The lady from the agency said next to me bring me to my new home. I really didn't want to hear her right now. They were taking me away. From school, and parents. I know that they were abusive but, there my parents. You had to love your parents. I lost parents, school, and friends. Well some of the friends that I had. Like 2. But I still would miss them. The lady from the agency kept talking giving me stupid facts about the new place I was going to say in for a little while. Doncaster. I tried not to listen to her. I just stared out the window. She spoke louder. Really? I got my phone out of my small bag. I unlocked it and pressed the orange music app. I unwrapped my ear buds and plugged the buds in my ears. I turned it up loud playing a good, steady song. I looked at her she was speaking but I couldn't hear her. I only saw her lips moving but the slow song playing in my ears. I rested my head on the hard cushion on the seat. I just wanted to be alone. After my terrible experience last week. I erased the thought out of my head I didn't want to remember. Just forget about everything. And everyone. Especially...myself.

The horn of the car was blown in my ear. I jumped and opened my eyes.

"We're here!!"

I got up. I remember falling asleep in the car. I pulled the buds from my ears. My song/ whole album over. I looked out the window. A huge house. With at least 2 acres of land in there yard.

"And there's a large forest in this area. Water and all."

The agency lady stated.

I said like I actually cared. But trust me I really didn't. All I wanted to do was what I suggested. Like with my bestfriend Angela and still see my parents. Even though they were terrible to me. She stopped the car in the front. I opened the car and got out grabbing my small bag where I put away my phone. The agency lady got out of the car also. She unlocked the trunk and I got out my large suitcase. I had trouble getting it out she went to help but I ripped it out of the trunk. I didn't want help, or anyone. I just wanted my life back. I put the rolls on the case on the ground and walked to the front with the lady. She rang the pearl colored door bell. A soft tune filled the air. I could hear feet come toward the door. It was swung open. A brown hair, regular sized pretty lady opened the door.

"She's here!!"

She shouted with joy. I was a little taken back. She shocked me at her actions. She opened the door wide.

"Come in, Come in."

the agency lady and I walked through the wide open door. The house was pretty large. The living room with gold paint on the walls and the kitchen a cool shimmering, pearl color.

"This is Kari."

The agency lady introduced me to the thin brown haired lady. I forced a small smile and faded it quick. I didn't want to be here. I wanted to go home.

"Hi I'm Johannah , but you can call me Jay."

I nodded and shook her extended hand. Her smile never leaving her face. The agency lady gave her thanks and gave her the papers. This wasn't for adoption. This was a foster home. I would be staying here for a little while. Not forever. Until someone adopted me. But I didn't want adoption. I would refuse to go if it was for adoption. I would run away, kill myself. I was never going. Call me stubborn. But I wasn't going to be adopted.

" And if you have any questions or concerns just contact my number on the form. I think she wont give you any trouble."

Johannah nodded and gave me a quick smile. The agency lady waved goodbye to me and made her way out. Johannah closed the large door and made her way to me smile and all.

"Oh my gosh I'm go excited. Oh let me take your bags."

She grabbed my suitcase before I could refuse.

"Come, Come."

I followed her down the large hall. Into a room were I believe it was mine. The room was coated with a light purple on the wall and a dark purple on the corner borders.

"So do you like it? The family painted it our self. Just for you"

I nodded. I didn't understand why would they paint it. I wasn't going to stay forever. Only a little while.

"Very pretty"

I stated. It was. My favorite color. She placed my suitcase on the bed. She sat and patted the spot next to her. I slowly sat.

"So lets talk about our self"

I nodded. A little confused. I never saw anyone be so welcoming and warm. I wasn't used to it. I had to keep reminding myself that I was suppose to be home. Not to get comfortable.

"I'll start."

She said, she took a slow breath and began.

"I'm a single mother and I have 2 children. A beautiful girl about 12 years old, Cassie, and a great boy Louis, or Lou about your age a year over I believe. And that's pretty much it."

She smiled a wide grin.

"And you?"

I thought a moment. I didn't know what to tell her. I'm a girl? I really don't know.

"How about your age."

"I'm 19."

I said quietly. I really didn't know where to start.

She pressured me to carry on.

"You have to have something to say. Do you want to talk about life before here?"

I couldn't.

"I'd love to listen. Trust me this will only stay in this room. I just want to get to know you better."

I sighed quietly.

"Um I love music writing music, I love to read and most of all I love...art.."

She nodded with a exciting smile.

"You like to read?"

I nodded. Reading helped me imagine a good life. Helped me have more imagination I would read to get ideas for my drawings I would draw small scenes in the story and imagine how they would look like. I had at least 5 novels in my suitcase.

"I think we're gonna get along very well."

I nodded. Don't get comfortable, don't get comfortable. I said to myself.

"Why don't you unpack, my children will be coming home from school soon. They would love to meet you."

I nodded. She got up and touched my hand with hers, smiled and strolled toward the door. The door was left parted a small amount. I sighed. I got up and opened my suitcase. All my stuff packed in a small case. The first thing I took out was my novels. I put them on my small shelf in the room. I turned the labeled side so I could see the titles. I walked back and started unpacking clothes, putting my night suits and delicates in the smaller shelf. And my clothes and outfits in my closet.

"Looks good."

I said to myself. Lastly I took out my lap top, phone and my drawing pads. I placed my laptop on my small desk on the side. And my phone and charger on my nightstand. But I put my drawing pads on my bed. That's something I would always keep with me. I finally finished. I admired my work in the room. I didn't have much more to do. I walked out of my room and walked slowly into the kitchen. Johannah was there sitting with a small cup of tea. She turned quickly when she heard me. A great smile plastered on her lips.

"Come sit."

I took the seat next to her on the dinner table. She handed me a cup of tea. I thanked her and took a small sip of the hot liquid. The sweet taste saturating my mouth.

"So. All unpacked?"

I nodded. She stood up. Telling me she would be right back. She returned and took her seat. She turned toward me. And handed me something. A small novel.

"What's this?"

I asked. I read the cover silently. 'Life Wonders.'

"I wrote the book when I was in collage."

"Was it published?"

She shook her head.

"No. But it was sent to every collage in Doncaster. This was the first copy."

She pointed over the thin cover.

"You read it. Tell me what you think."

I nodded.

"Thank you."

She nodded. I opened the book but before reading the title I heard the door open.

"That's my kids"

She got up and gestured me to follow. I stood up slowly. I could hear her from the kitchen. I walked quietly to the sounds. She was hugging a small child. Not letting go. My small smile faded. That was her family. I never witnessed love before.

"Guys this is Kari. I told you she was coming last week."

The young girl turned to me.

"Hi. I'm Cassie."

She ran up to me and hugged me. I was shocked at her actions. Johannah laughed. Cassie let go. Her small features created a wide warm smile.

"Where's Loui?"

"He's coming. Come Kari."

She took my hand and dragged me to her room.

"Don't hurt the girl Cassie."

Cassie brought me to her room. The pink and pink and more pink surrounding the room. She sat on her bed. I looked around her room.

"So where you from?"

"What's it like?"

I was expecting she hasn't been there. Not many people have been to the capital.

"Very quiet. But its great. Stores and shops are great and the food too."

That's mostly what I could think about. The memories of London were mostly horrible ones. She seemed very interested. I didn't understand. My life wasn't that interesting. We heard the front door open again.

"Come on Kari. Come meet Lou."

She took my hand and dragged me to the front door. I had to run a little to keep up. We made our way to the door. I saw Johannah she was talking to a boy much taller than her. I couldn't see him, only his back which was turn toward me.

Cassie shouted. I jumped. She scared me with the shout.

"Cassie lower your voice"

"Yes please"

The boy said.

"Come say 'Hi' to Kari."

Cassie scolded him. He finished what he was doing, taking his shoes off, and turned to me. Our eyes meeting. His turquoise eyes connecting with my brown ones.

He said looking into my eyes. His muscular jaw and attractive features came into the light.

I said quietly. His hand connecting with mine. He brought him hand to his mouth and placed a small kiss on it. He looked back up and smiled.

"Okay Mr. Tomlinson that's enough. She's my best friend."

Cassie scolded him.

"I'm Loui"

I said. His eyes never leaving mine.

His mom called for him.

Again she called. But his eyes wouldn't leave my brown ones.

He turned quick.

"I think you can let go of her hand now."

Cassie gestured to my hand. I took it out of his. He pulled his back also. Johannah just stared at what just flashed before her eyes.

"Um okay, So yeah this is Kari, she'll be staying here for a little while."

Johannah said. I put my head down trying not to make eye contact with the attractive figure in front of me.

"Come on Kari, lets play."

"No missy you need to do your homework."

Cassie sighed an extreme sigh.

"Will you help me?"

Cassie asked me. I nodded. She brought me back to her room, I looked behind me seeing Louis watching us. I put my head down and continued to run with Cassie. We arrived to her room where she pulled her book bag up and emptied her Homework.

I helped her with most of it. She had some trouble with science which was my favorite subject. Just like before I reminded myself don't get comfortable. Remember where I belonged. Even though I talked with Cassie and Johannah and a little bit of Louis it didn't mean I was staying, or that I wanted to be here. Cause I really didn't. I wanted to go home. And my view wasn't changing.

"So now for resistance its velocity divided by current."

She nodded.

"Now I get it!"

She said excited. I heard a knock at the door. Lou's head popped in the room.

He shouted in a funny voice. We chuckled at his remark.

"Come and get fat lets go"

He said opening the door wider. We got up and walked toward the door. Cassie ran out and Loui stayed at the door waiting for me. I walked out and he closed it behind me. I turned to him.

"Come on"

He whispered. He smiled an charming smile. I put my head down and nodded. He was very attractive but I didn't want to get close with them. I couldn't. I walked to the kitchen. Johannah and Cassie were at the table already. Cassie patted a seat next to her I made my way and sat next to her. Louis sat in front of me. I admired the meal in front of me. It looked very appetizing. I never ate around the table. I only ate in...Never mind.

After dinner I put my finished plate in the sink. Loui came and put his dish in the sink next to my plate. He smiled at me. I just put my head down and nodded. Don't get comfortable. I repeated in my head. I walked back and thanked Johannah for the lovely meal she prepared for me. She gladly took my thanks and responded with a surprising welcome. I walked to my new room. I sat on my bed and looked around then my eye caught the small book on my night shelf. The one that Johannah gave me. I opened the cover and read the title of the first chapter. 'Wonder of Love'. I read the first selection.

Silence deepens. Street lights fade. Love no where in the air.

but what is love? What does it do?

Many wonders of life, starts with the peculiar 4 letter word.

Love for a family and for a friend.

Signs of love aren't just in human beings,

but in the trees

the green of the tree's the blue of the sky and the color on your skin,

signs of love.

Wonder of Love.

The words on the page fluttered in my mind. I grabbed my drawing pad and started to draw what was stated in the book. 'Green of the trees, blue of the sky and the color on your skin'. I admired the trees outside my window, the leaves a dull red and orange with hints of brown. I ran my sharpened pencil on the pad. Moving in motion of what I saw. The details on the tree's and the roots growing on the bottom. I drew the trunk and all the details, every crack and small branch. After a couple of minutes I was interrupted by a knock on my door. I immediately hid the note pad and just looked out the window.

"Come in"

I saw familiar turquoise eyes. He smiled and walked in.

He said quietly. I moved the loose strains of hair from my face.

I didn't want to make eye contact I knew I would get lost in his beautiful features. He walked in my room and sat on my bed.

"I thought I would introduce myself properly after what happened earlier."

What happened earlier? I did really understand what he was talking about. I nodded like I agreed.

"What you up too."

He asked excited.

"Um, nothing. It nothing"

He raised an eyebrow.

"I have been living with girls for over 5 years. I know when a girl isn't telling the truth"

I looked up at him. His face soft with a small smirk on it. I didn't understand or even saw anything more radiant. But I kept reminding myself not to fall short that I needed to stay strong. I wanted to go home.

He lifted his head.

"Yes love?"

"I just want to go home. I know I cant right now but I do. I left behind things I needed. I just don't want to get comfortable."

He sat next to me. I moved a little away. He moved closer.

"I don't bite."

He chuckled. "You know Kari, I get that you want to go home. But getting comfortable wont change your opinion." I looked at his eyes. They looked like they were peaking into my soul. "You can talk to me. I just don't get it. Why are you in a foster home anyway?"

I put my head down remembering my fearful past.

"I don't want to talk about it."

He nodded. "I wont interfere. I understand if you don't. But I would really like to talk with you. It better having someone my age here. We don't get this a lot only when friends come over. Kevin?"

I looked at him confused.

"Yes Kevin. Right there"

He pointed to a pigeon in the tree. I was still confused.

"I'll be right back."

He left the room and came back with a stuffed pigeon. He nipped it at my ear making bird noises. I couldn't help but chuckle. I liked how he was humorous and wasn't afraid to be himself.

"This is Kevin."

He said happily. I touched the bird lightly. Why would he have a stuffed bird? The thought made me chuckle.

"He likes you."

I put my head down smiling.

"And so do I", Loui said.
