26. Morning

 Justin's POV

I woke up, but kept my eyes closed. For a moment I thought we were back home. But then the sent of the ocean and the feel of the sand beneath me made me realize we were still here, trapped on this Island, for god knows how long. I just wanted it to be a dream, a cruel dream, I wanted Yvonne to be okay. Yvonne, I would do anything to keep her safe. Even if it meant giving my life for her. Although I hope it doesn't come to that.

I opened my eyes and sat up. I looked out to the see. There was luggage, first aid kits and other such things washed up on the beach. There were pieces of the plane. The plane. It never made it back. That must mean they are going to be looking for it soon. Although, It was under the water so no body would see it. I decided that I would need to get all the bags and things to build a shelter and to keep us healthy. I had to check on Yvonne first of course.

I turned her onto her back and I checked her breathing. She was breathing normal and seemed to be doing  All right so I sat her up on a palm tree. We were stuck on a deserted island in the tropics. Fantastic. Yvonne opened her eyes for a second but closed them again. "Yvonne," I started, "I'm going to gather supplies than see if anybody else made it." I went to leave but before I could Yvonne spoke up. "Justin, nobody else made it out."

"I looked at her. "There's gotta be somebody else."

"No Justin, everybody is dead."

"Yvonne just go back to sleep ok"

"No Justin you don't understand." She said with much more emotion. "You flew out the hole before we hit the water. The only one to fly out of the plane. Before the cabin was flooded with water I ran through the aisles looking for people who might have survived. People who were well enough to make it out. There was nobody. Nobody Justin. By the time i had finished looking the water was well past my waist." She had tears in her eyes but I could tell she wasn't finished yet. "I couldnt find the door. I almost drowned before I did. I barely made it to the surface of the water before a wave knocked me down. I inhaled a ton of water. I was washed onto shore. I was looking for you because without you, I don't know what I would have done Justin." She broke down crying. I held her in my arms. "Shhh. It's ok. As long as we are together its going to be alright. Somebody will find us. They have to find the plane anyways." I held her in my arms until she fell asleep again.

I went to collect supplies. I piled suitcases next to the tree were yvonne was leaned up again. There were 4 First aid kits, and 13 suit cases and bags. I also grabbed sheets of metal that had come off the plane. There were also some sealed snack foods that they usually hand out on the plane and a bottle of wine. There was trail mix and potato chips. I put them with the pile of stuff that I had collected. Next I had to construct a shelter.

I went into the forest to grab some branches. I grabbed the branches and U Stuck them in the ground. I tilted them and position them so I could lay sheet metal on the top and the bottom sides of our shelter. I climbed some trees and ripped the wider palm leaves off and then I used them to line the remaining space on the sides of our shelter. Once I had finished that I started going through some of the luggage. Three suitcases had just Woman's clothes, 5 had men's, One reasonably large bag had a neck pillow and a very large throw blanket that took up the entire bag. Another small bag had an iPod 5 in it. It looked new. And it had a couple of books and a bottle of gatorade. The rest of the suitcases and bags had a mix of clothes, meds and snack food that the saltwater had ruined. I sighed. Though the supplies we had now were pretty good.

It was probably the middle of the after noon so i decided I should built a fire pit. I built it about 3 feet away from our shelter. I dug out the sand and lined the area with rocks. It wasn't close enough to the forest or our shelter to catch things on fire and it wasn't close enough to the ocean to be washed away during high tide. I put some sticks and leaves and lit it. I set out the Ipod on a rock near the fire to dry off. I hung some of the clothes on low hanging trees so they could dry off as well. My clothes and Yvonne's clothes were still soaked. I took my shirt off and hung it with the other clothes. I put the salvaged food in two of the suitcases and threw them into our shelter. Our shelter could fit the too of us fine with a little room left over.

Yvonne walked and stood next to me as I looked at the progress I made. "At this rate we might actually live." She said with a hint of humor. I grabbed her by the waist and kissed her. I kissed her for a long time before I would pull away. Then I hugged her tightly. She hugged back with as much strength as I did. We stood there like that without a word for what seemed like hours but was probably only ten minutes. We both understood that we could have lost each other. So words weren't necesarry. "I  love you." I said. "I love you too." She took the blanket into our shelter and laid it out. She folded it so that we could lay on top of part of the blanket but still be covered by the other part. then she came out and put her two shoes with my one shoe. She pulled of her clothes and hung them up. I looked at her. "What" She asked. "Nothing. Its just. Your really hot."

She smiled and shook her head. "Well my clothes are soaked and I wanna be dry. soon"

"Ok. well as long as your doing it. I might as well." I pulled my pants off and hung them up. We were just standing together in our underwear. But not because we were trying to be sexual towards each other. Because we wanted to be dry soon. I laid some of the clothes near the fire. I wanted them to dry faster. It wouldn't be dark for a few hours so we put the throw blanket by the fire too so it would be dry by dark. Yvonne pulled some of the snacks out and we ate them. We were thirsty too so we shared the gatorade. Tomorrow I will have to find fresh water. Yvonne will come with me. I don't wanna risk losing her again. I'm nothing without her.
