8. First Talk

I took another big whiff of the air. His scent was so jumbled up that I couldn't tell where he was coming from. I turned around, and continued sniffing. His smell was getting stronger and stronger, he was getting closer.

A little part of me liked this little game. It was like hide and seek, I wanted to forget about everything and enjoy it. I grinned, and faced west. “Come on out, Jeremy.”

I heard a voice behind me. “I’m right here, Ravennica.”

I shivered when I heard him say my name. I turned around slowly. “What brings you to this part of the forest, Jeremy? Was there anything else you were going to ask your girlfriend to ask me?”

Let me tell you right now, he was hot. He was really really hot. First of all, he had beautiful emerald green eyes. His skin was nice and tan, he was at least six foot two, and he wore black basketball shorts and a grey t shirt.

“Yeah, I figured I should ask anything else I wanted to figure out up close and personal.” He smirked, and I shook my head. There were secrets I had to keep for the vampires, I was going to have to be careful about answering his questions.

I stepped closer until I was about a two feet away from him. “Ask away,” I whispered.

He looked deep into my eyes, and I felt trapped in his gaze. I barely noticed how he took another step closer to me, lessening the gap between us to about a foot. I could barely breathe, the sound of his heart beating was pounding through my head. We stood there for who knows how long.

“Ravenna! Ravenna, come back!” It was Alex's voice, and it broke me out o the trance.

“I...I have to go,” I muttered, avoiding eye contact. What was I doing? Flirting with a werewolf? That was stupid, really really stupid. He probably knew about my crush and was using it to his advantage. I was stupid. A sudden rage filled me. “You know what, just stay away from me.” I snarled.

But...” He almost sounded hurt.

But nothing! You're a freaking werewolf, I'm not answering any of your stupid questions!”

I saw him tense up from the corner of my eye. “Why don't you say that to my face?” He growled.

I bit my lip, and tried not to cry. He sounded so harsh, it was like a slap to the face. I looked up, and stared into his eyes. His face took on a look of shock.

Stay away from me. Don't talk to me. You're nothing but a stupid werewolf, you're nothing but a waste of time.” I shook my head. Why was I making such a big deal out of this? I needed to get out of there. As soon as I turned around to leave, I saw Alex.

He looked at me with confused red eyes. His dark hair was ruffled, who knows why. “Wh...what are you doing here with him?”

I ran into him on accident, but I'm leaving now. He just wants to ask me pointless questions,” I mumbled, walking over to him.

They aren't pointless!” Jeremy called after me.

Yeah, I bet. You and you're werewolves have a secret agenda that I want no part in.” I growled. I didn't turn back to look at him.

Whatever,” He snarled. I heard more growling, and rustling of leaves. He was gone, and probably shifted.

I'm sorry for running off, I'm ready to face my mother.” I smiled at Alex. I had a duty to do, and I was going to do it. I was going to marry Alex, bring the two covens together, and win this war.
