You're the One

Jennifer thought everything was perfect, until her world got turned upside down. Was it time to let him go? Did she expect too much? Someone was about to show her what she was missing.

3. Flirting for fun

I got a text about an hour after I talked to this mystery fan.  We decided to talk on the phone, it seemed easier to get to know each other.  My phone rang.

"Hello, Jen?"

"Yes, this is her.  I didn't expect you to have a british accent" I told him.

"Oh I forgot to mention that.  Sorry love."  he told me.

"Yeah, that would've been nice to know.  So what is your name.  You already know mine." I said laughing.

"It's Edward" he told me.

"Well it's nice to err... meet you" I said. "Or whatever."  I couldn't believe I was getting nervous on the phone with this guy.  "So tell me about yourself." I asked him.

"Well I am 19, I love music, just like you, or at least that is what your profile says. I like One Direction, just like you."  he told me. "Enough about me, tell me about you".

"I'm 20, I live in South Carolina, I work at a coffee shop and am taking some online classes.  I am pretty boring" I said.

"No boyfriend?"

"Yes and no.  He is away for work.  We are gonna try to do a long distance relationship but don't really know if it's gonna work out"

"Oh, I see" he said sounding disappointed.  "Well the good thing is, I think we may be at the same concert.  Are you going to the one in Charlotte?"

"Yeah, I am."

"Maybe we will see each other there."

"Yeah maybe" I told him.

We talked for  a little longer.  I couldn't help but smile as I was talking to him.  I enjoyed the thought of having someone to talk to.  It could help take my mind off of how alone I had become.
