Porcelain Heart

Just a short poem about the pain of unrequited love.

1. 1

Once, with swelling soul and porcelain heart,
I found you cracked and broken and torn.
So I gave you everything.
Every thing, because everything was what you deserved,
and what you were to me.
Yet, it wasn’t enough.
True, pure, unequivocal and unwavering,
but not returned.
Something, if unreturned, is owed.
So indebted, my porcelain heart cracked
and on softer arm you left.
