4. Exercising With A Star

I know it's been a while and I thank you for your patience!!! I have college things to do along with a lot of other homework, PLUS writing 3 differents fanfics.

It's stressing me out!

Louis’ POV

“I don’t bend like that,” I stated.

Laurel was showing me the stretches that I needed to do before each practice so I didn’t pull any muscles. Currently, she had one leg out straight, the other bent and she was reaching towards the foot furthest away from her.

“It’s not that hard; stretch both of your legs straight in front of you.” Laurel instructed and I copied what she did. “Bend your right leg and put it against your left knee, keeping your leg against the ground. Now all you have to do is reach to your foot.” Laurel said as if it was the easiest thing in the world. I reached towards my foot, grunting as I did so; geez, this was hard.

“Not bad,” she said after laughing at my attempt to stretch. “Now spread your legs in a straddle.”

“In a what?” I raised my eyebrows.

“Spread your legs as wide as they will go; in a ‘v’ shape,” Laurel demonstrated. I tried to copy what she did, but my legs did not want to cooperate. Finally, I managed to move my legs into a ‘v’, but not nearly as wide as Laurel had. For the next fifteen minutes, she led me through a bunch of complicated stretches. “Okay, we are going to have to improve your flexibility, a lot.”

“You’re going to do 50 jumping jacks, 30 push-ups and 30 sit-ups.” She told me. “Got it?”

I nodded once, “Yup.” I stood up and began doing the jumping jacks, raising my eyebrows as Laurel did them with me. “Why are you…doing these with me?” I asked in between jumps.

“I don’t think it’s fair for the student to exercise while the teacher sits on their ass,” she retorted.

Once I finished the jumping jacks, I lay on the ground, getting ready to do the sit-ups. I bent my legs and Laurel put her hands on my feet. The only problem was that she wasn’t big enough to weigh my feet down; she tried everything until she kneeled on my feet and rested her hands on my knees. Every time I sat up, I pulled a face which made her laugh.

“My turn,” she said before lying on the floor; I held her feet down, a much easier task for me.

Together, Laurel and I did the push-ups and moved on to the squats. “Don’t let your knees pass your feet,” Laurel told me. “It can cause damage to your joints. And keep your shoulders back; learning this posture now is going to help with the dances.”

I tried to follow all her instructions, especially the tip about the knees; I had already hurt my knee once, I don’t want to do that again. “My legs are on fire!” I complained when we had finished.

“That means you’re doing it right,” Laurel smiled.

“Wait, squats help your butt, right?” I spun around. “How does mine look?”

“Fantastic, but I think mine is better.” She joked. “Just so you know, our first dance is going to be the cha-cha.”

I grinned, “Sounds fun.”

“That’s what they all say before you actually begin to learn it,” she said. “Let’s call it a day, yeah?”

“Yeah,” I agreed.

“I’m going to see who Kate is partnered with; my best friend,” Laurel explained once she saw my confused expression.

“Come with me; she would love to meet you.”

I followed Laurel out of the room and through a door to the room right next door to ours. “Kate!” Laurel yelled, running towards a brunette in the middle of the room. Laurel jumped on top of the girl, wrapping her arms and legs around her.

“What the fu-Laurel!” she yelled.

“Hello there,” Laurel said sheepishly before getting off of her. “Who’s your partner?”

“Alfie, meet my crazy best friend, Laurel.” Kate introduced a dark haired guy to Laurel.

Her face was priceless; her eyes went wide and her jaw dropped when she turned to face the boy, Alfie. “I love your videos!” she gushed.

“Thank you,” Alfie smiled.

“Who’s your partner?” Kate asked.

Laurel gestured towards me and when Kate turned to face me, her expression matched Laurel’s moments before. “You got partnered with Louis?! You lucky bitch!” Kate slapped her arm. I raised my eyebrows and turned towards Alfie who was walking towards me.

“Nice to meet you; I’m a big fan.” He shook my hand.

“It’s nice to meet you too. I think my sisters have shown me a few of your videos; they’re pretty good.” I told him. “What dance

are you guys doing?”

“The foxtrot,” Alfie answered. “What are you doing?”

“Cha-cha,” I laughed. “I honestly don’t know what the end product is going to be; probably embarrassing.”

“Hey guys, do you want to grab dinner?” Laurel asked.

“I can’t tonight,” I said. “But next time, definitely.”

“Oh and be here at 10 a.m. tomorrow and be prepared to work,” Laurel poked my arm.

“I will be here!” I saluted her.

“Hey babe,” I kissed Eleanor when she opened the door to her flat. “How was your day?”

“Not bad; how was your first day of practice?” she smiled at me.

I returned her smile, “Interesting; she definitely has her work cut out for her if she wants to turn me into a professional dancer.”

El laughed, “I don’t have to worry about this partner of yours trying to steal you away do I?” Even though her tone was light and carefree, I could tell she was concerned about me spending time with another girl. Laurel was a beautiful girl, there was no denying that, but no one could compare to Eleanor. I hadn’t looked at another girl since I’ve been with El and I don’t plan on it.

“To an Italian restaurant, you’re favorite.” I said with an awful Italian accent, making Eleanor giggle.

I drove the two of us down to Ambrosia, the best Italian restaurant in town, and we sat down in a booth. Over dinner, we discussed anything and everything, from her studies to what things the boys and I have going on in the next few months. It’s going to be nice to actually spend time with her without interruptions; it’s hard leaving her to go on tour and make appearances, but every time I left and came back, it made me love her that much more.

As we walked through the city, she joked with me about how she thinks I’m going to drop Laurel when we do lifts. “Why does everyone think I’m going to drop her? Come on El, have a little faith.” I pouted. “Do you want to practice?”

Her jaw dropped and she furiously shook her head. “There is no way I’m letting you pick me up in one of those death lifts.” She told me. Quickly I scooped her up and over my shoulder and spun around in a circle. “Louis, put me down!” she pounded on my back.

“Never!” I yelled and ran back towards the car, earning some strange looks by the people walking by. One woman who looked extremely uptight was giving me an extremely dirty look, so I gave her a wave and said, “Hello.” She scoffed and turned away from us. I sat Eleanor back on her feet and huffed, “Some people are extremely boring.”

“That or you’re extremely hyper and they don’t know what to make of you.” El patted my cheek. “But luckily for you, I know how to put up with you.”

I frowned at her, “You don’t have to put up with me; you love me.” Eleanor smiled back up at me and nodded. Grinning, I bent down and pressed my lips to her own, enjoying the moment and loving the way she felt against me.
