Laurel's POV

"So tell me, how on Earth did you get this one to focus for more than a minute at a time," Liam asked me.

"Hey!" Louis glared at his band mate from across the table.

I laughed, "I honesty have no idea. He's like the dog from the movie Up; always getting distracted by the simplest things. Like when we did the dress rehearsal, he was fascinated by my outfit. It was like he had never seen a tutu before."

This time Louis glared at me, "That was not my fault. It was scratching me and it was extremely puffy."

"Welcome to the world of dance." I said.

I looked around at the table which seated all five members of One Direction plus Eleanor, Kate, Alfie and myself. The dinner had been lively and amusing to say the least; based on my experience with Louis and now with the boys, I'm getting the idea that they are on a perpetual sugar high.

The only downer to the evening was Eleanor who kept giving me looks from across the table.

It's like she thought I was going to leap across the table and start making out with Louis. And I can tell you, that was not going to happen.

"Well, I should be leaving." Kate stood up. I nodded and stood up as well.

"What? Why?" Louis asked.

"Unlike some people, we have to be at the studio earlier to practice for the result show." I explained.

"Oh, alright." Louis said.

"Bye ladies," Harry stood and hugged the both of us, holding onto us a little longer than necessary.

I gave him a look, "Goodbye Harry."

The rest of the table said goodbye as Kate and I left the restaurant.

"Do you think Alfie will be alright on his own?" I asked.

"One can't be entirely sure," Kate mused. "He is definitely one of their biggest fans, so sitting at the same table for a prolonged period of time could be hazardous."

"He seemed alright just now." I commented as I started the car and pulled out of the parking lot.

"Yes, but how long can he remain calm is the true question." Kate laughed.

I shook my head and turned on the radio and as I drove towards Kate's apartment we sang completely off key to whatever song played.

"See you tomorrow!" Kate called as she got out of the car.

"Adios!" I waved.

I drove back to my apartment building and dropped my bag near the door. I love performing, but it's exhausting.

Quickly, I stripped out of my clothes and stepped into the shower. I washed all of the hairspray out of my hair and proceeded to wash the rest of my body.

Once I finished, I got into my fuzzy pajamas and slipped into bed. I set my alarm so I wouldn't be late and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was asleep.

"Morning, Dad." I kissed him on the cheek as I sat down at the table.

"Morning, sweetie." He replied. "What are you up to today?"

I rested my head on my hand, "Well, in about in hour I have to be at the studio to practice for the pro dance."

"Don't sound so excited," Dad teased. "The dances always turn out amazing."

"Very true, but it's always tough because every dancer wants some input in the choreography." I told him.

Dad shrugged, "That's a good point."

"Are the boys awake?" I asked.

My dad gave me a pointed look, "What do you think? They have no school today do they'll be dead to the world until the afternoon."

I grinned at him, "Not for long."

I ran up the stairs and quietly crept into Mason's room until I was right next to him. He lay there snoring and I rolled my eyes; trying to sleep in the same room as him was like sleeping next to a chain saw.

"Wake up!" I yelled before backing up.

Mason shot straight up with wide eyes, looking around for an intruder. But he found me on the floor laughing.

"Why are you here again?" He flopped back onto his bed.

"Want to help me wake up Logan?" I asked.

Mase opened one eye, "What did you have in mind?"

I motioned for him to follow me and we both tiptoed into Logan's room. "On the count of three we jump on him," I whispered and Mason nodded. I held my fingers up and counted down from three.

At the last second we both pounced onto the bed.

The following event happened in slow motion.

Logan's eyes opened and suddenly Mason was flying backward off the bed and onto the floor. Logan had ninja kicked him in the stomach.

"What the hell?" Logan yelled.

"Oh shit, are you alright?" I hopped off the bed and stood over Mason.

"I think he may have bruised my spleen, but yeah I'm okay." Mase said hoarsely.

"That's what happens when you wake me up before ten." Logan stated. "Which reminds me, why did you wake me up?"

"Because I want to have breakfast with my favorite guys before I go to rehearsal." I grinned.

They turned to each other and shook their heads. "Hate you," Logan grumbled.

I bounced out of the room, "Love you too, bro!"

"Do I want to know what that noise was?" Dad asked warily.

"Logan fell on the floor," I shrugged.

My dad shook his head, "Leaving the three of you in a room alone is a recipe for disaster."

I nodded and my two brothers walked into the kitchen. My dad placed plates full of pancakes in front of all of us and I began eating immediately.

Within the next ten minutes I had finished my plate and I waited for the rest of my family to be finished. "Want any more Lo?" Logan asked.

"No way," I said. "I have to dance soon and I don't think they'll taste as good coming back up." I checked the time. "Speaking of which, I should be leaving." I kissed my dad on his cheek. "Thanks for breakfast! Oh, guys the show might want us to do a hip hop dance on a result show."

"Sweet!" Logan and Mason high-fived each other.

"Bye!" I called before driving to the studio.

"Hey Laurel," Danny said as I walked into the studio.

"Hi, what's up?" I asked. I dropped my bag on the floor and sat next to him on the floor and began stretching.

"Eh, not much. And you?" Danny asked.

"Not much," I said. I was trying not to focus on the fact that it was only the two of us in the room. Danny was good looking and when I first came to the show I had the biggest crush on him. In addition to being attractive, he was nice and a great guy which made him the total package.

"You were really good last night; I really liked your performance." He complimented me.

I could feel my cheeks beginning to heat up and I looked at my feet, "Thanks."

Why did I have to be awkward now of all times?

Danny just laughed and got up to start practice as most of the dancers had shown up.

"Alright, let's take it from the second half when Laurel and the rest of the dancers come to the front from the back." Danny called out.

We nodded and I moved to the back of the stage to go through the choreography that Danny had come up with.

"And 5, 6, 7, 8."

As Danny counted down, I began stepping down the stairs and then did a step sequence to the front of the dance floor.

The music progressed and all the dancers joined in on the floor to do some partner dancing. Once again I moved to the front and did the hip hop part of the routine.

Danny had the me positioned in the front so I could 'bring' the camera in to the dance. The cameraman followed me as I walked towards the stage and spun back around. I did two hip circles before bending my head and Danny did a leap frog jump over me before he did a another flip.

We finished off the routine and Danny finally said it was perfect.

I grabbed my water and took a sip before being tackled by Kate and Kierstan.

"Who's ready to dance with Taio Cruz?!" Kate cheered.

"I'm excited but I don't get why he's singing Dynamite. That was one of his first songs." Kiersten said as we walked to a different studio.

"Bringing back the oldies!" I cheered.

Three male dancers were already in the studio waiting. Max turned to us and grinned, "Ladies, it's time to get sexy."
