Teenage Years

It's hard being the teenage daughter of Harry Styles, one of the members of one of the most popular bands on the planet, and Emma Styles knows it all too well. Emma's been in the spotlight all her life, but now that she's a teenager, photographers and everyone at school won't let her have a moment's peace. On top of all that, Emma has a really big crush on her Irish uncle Niall, something that her dad's bound to find out, and when he does, all hell breaks loose. And what happens when Emma accidentally discovers that her mom and her uncle Liam used to have a thing going on all those years ago? Daddy's good girl goes bad. ~ Book 3 in The Rebound Girl series. ~ Please note that I don’t encourage this kind of relationship and that this fanfic is for entertainment only.

1. Oh, hello there!

Oh, hello there! I’m Emma Styles. I guess you’ve heard of me before, so, I apologize if you got sick of seeing my face on every front cover of almost every magazine since the day I was born, which was sixteen years ago. Believe me I got sick of seeing my face everywhere, too. I didn’t ask for it. I really didn’t. But you can’t choose your family, right? Don’t get me wrong, I love my parents and wouldn’t change them for the world, but some days it’s just so hard being Harry Styles' daughter. Yes, the Harry Styles, one of the members of One Direction, one of the most popular bands on planet earth. So, chaos controls pretty much every day of my life.

I’m always on the spotlight everywhere I go and photographers stalk my every move, but when I’m at school, unfortunately, everything’s so much worse. You wouldn’t believe the hate I get from some students. I’ll walk down the school corridor, talking with my friends, and some random guy will shout, ‘One Direction sucks!’ I mean, okay, why? Why would you say that? What did I ever do to you? But haters aren’t half as bad as hypocrites are. Over the years, a lot of students became my friends and pretended to like me only because they wanted to get to meet my dad and his band mates. So, I found out the hard way that hypocrites are everywhere. Literally, everywhere. I hate them. I don’t trust anyone anymore. Nope. Not me. Not anymore. I only trust my family and our closest friends.

I have two best friends, Allie and Noah Black. They are twins and their mom loves The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks so much that she named them after the book’s hero and heroine. Allie’s pretty cool. She has grey eyes and strawberry blonde hair with pink ends. Noah’s, um, Noah’s sweet, funny and cute. He has brown hair and beautiful deep blue eyes. He looks a lot like Logan Lerman and every time I tell him so, he bows his head, blushes a little and chuckles. I love Allie and Noah to pieces and I hope that we’ll be friends forever.

These three little paragraphs pretty much sum up my life so far. Oh, I forgot to mention one thing. I, um, I kind of have a crush on my Irish uncle Niall. Actually, I have a huge crush on him. Nobody knows about it, nobody but Allie and Noah, of course. Allie’s really supportive, but Noah doesn’t want to hear anything about it, and every time it comes up, he gets like really grumpy and leaves. I don’t know what Noah’s problem is, but I really don’t care.

Okay, I know that my uncle Niall (who’s not really my uncle by the way) is thirty five and I’m only sixteen, but so what? Let me explain to you why I feel about him the way I do. Niall Horan held me tight, kissed my hair and sang softly to me almost every single day of my childhood. I fell asleep in his arms, listening to his heartbeat, more times that I can remember, and he always protected me from mean paparazzi by cursing at them and hiding me in his hug. When I was five, he taught me how to play the guitar. He and Dad even wrote a song about me a few years back. I feel really close to Niall and I don’t care that he’s so much older than me. When it comes to love, age is but a number, right? And besides, you can’t help who you fall in love with, and I love Niall Horan more than my poor little heart can handle.

Hmm, a little more about me, now. I’m a straight A student, but a little too lazy, too. Music is my life! Yeah, no surprise there, I know, but it is. As a person, I'm friendly, funny, shy and way too clumsy. I’m also quite mature I think. I have long brown hair and big green eyes, so, everyone always tells me how much I look like my dad. Oh, and I always have on black eyeliner, black mascara and dark pink lipstick. Always. So, this is me. And welcome to the life of Emma Styles.
