2. Chapter 2

As I waited for the bus the rain started to fall harder and harder and I was already feeling ill as it was. I couldn’t bear it. I began to walk to our house knowing full well it was almost 5 miles from here. I continued on anyways. I looked around into cafés seeing all these happy people with their families. I felt the tears pooling at my eyes as I thought of how the world continues on even when you’re at your lowest. I stopped and sat thinking of all they ways this could get better. There were none. I began to think of ways to end the pain but I couldn’t. I just knew I wouldn’t be able to do it. My only reason? Eric. I loved him too much to let him go and I’m so stupid for thinking he would love me back but I threw that thought to the back of my mind and continued to love him.

I looked up to see a black sleek car coming to a slow in front of me. I began to back away knowing the dangers of the city I was in. I saw a bob of brown unruly hair pop out from the car’s driver side. He looked over at me and smiled. I grimly nodded in response as he observed my state.

“Need a ride?” he asked gesturing to his car.

“Yes” I replied. Right now I could care less if this guy took my life or raped me. What more could happen that hadn’t already. At least whoever did it was cute.

He grinned and walked over to my side to open the door. He let me in and soon was in the seat next to me.

“So where to?” he asked. I explained my address and he drove silently letting the soft music fill the empty car.

“So why did you stop to give me a ride?” I asked fumbling with the zipper on my bag to keep from looking at him.

I felt him glance at me and observe me.   “Well rehearsals got canceled so I kind of had time,” he said turning his attention back to the road.

“Rehearsals?” I asked.

“Yea…um I’m in a band” he responded sounding a bit surprised.

“Oh cool. What’s it called?” I asked him trying to keep the conversation going.

“One Direction” he stated quietly.

I had heard that name before. I couldn’t really put my finger on it though. And then it hit me. I was in the car of a member from one of the most internationally famous boy bands.

“What’d you say your name was again?” he asked facing me at a red light.

“I didn’t. It’s Delilah” I responded still in a bit of shock.

“Wow, nice name. I’m Harry,” he said slightly touching my knee then regretting his decision after seeing me flinch away.

“Sorry, habit,” he explained.

“It’s fine. So do you live in your own or...” he trailed off.

“I live with my boyfriend,” I said bitterly.

“woah,” he laughed. “Doesn’t seem like you’re too happy about that one eh?”

“Not really no” I said harshly.

He remained quiet the rest of the way. I wasn’t too sure about having this stranger drive me to my house. One, he would now know where I lived. Two, he was a guy. Now don’t get me wrong Eric could care less about me, but when it looks as if someone is trying to put their hands on his property he can get down right nasty. I anticipated the moment when I would finally arrive home. I felt horrible, after all I did just go through an abortion right? Everything hurt and I felt like puking.  Oh my god I felt like puking. Without second thought I pushed open the door, as Harry slammed on the brakes, slipping my head down and throwing up the remains of my stomach. It was a horrid sight and my mouth tasted of metal and other nasty substances. As I pulled my head back in I turned to see Harry with a look of concern on his face.

“What was that?” he asked astonished.

“It’s called puking. A thing you do whe-“ he cut me off.

“I know what puking is but why didn’t you tell me stop the car? You could’ve died”

“But I didn’t”

“But you could’ve”

“But I didn’t. Listen if you’re not going to drive me the rest I think I can walk. The rain has died down a bit” I began to unfasten my seatbelt when he slipped his hand over mine.

“No wait. I’m sorry. I’ll take you home right now” he said continuing his drive to my house.
