20. Appology Letters

Today Latte received apology letters from the manager of Starbucks. It went like this.

Hey (member of Latte), I appreciate your service for our Starbucks franchise. You made a wonderful addition to our team. You were a diligent, hard-working teen, with a zeal for serving us. The few weeks you worked for me were some of the best. I’m glad I found you, and I was happy you decided to join us.

On November 3rd, I viciously fired you. At the time, I was extremely furious with all of Starbuck’s financial struggles. Even though things were tough on me, I didn’t need to act that way towards some of my best employees. Firing you was one of my worst decisions. I really regret that. It also was one of the main factors for the closure of Starbucks.

If I could change anything in time, it would be that. That being said, I hope you can accept my apology.

                                                                                               Best of luck for you,

                                                                                                                Evan McKee

That really spoke out to Latte. Even though Emily appreciated it, it felt familiar to her. She is very persistent and was going to find out where she remembered something like that.

An idea hit her! What was the main conflict Latte had been trying to solve? Who was the suspect for the stolen Harold and book? Emily furiously looked for the note. It was under her apology letter. After comparing the two samples of handwriting, it was clear that Starbuck’s old manager was the thief and kidnapper. Emily called the rest of Latte and together, they planned to interrogate Starbuck’s old manager.
