9. Ch. 9

When we pulled up, the place was more packed than usual. When we got out, Mikie and Zee were about to start making their way to the back but I stopped them.

“Bethany…the end of the line is over there.” Zee pointed out.

“BETHANY!” Charles yelled. Zee raised her eyebrow at me and I just shrugged.

“Come on.” I said. They followed me and we were let in right away.

“Why do they know you by name?” Mikie asked me.

“She’s here enough…” Zee pointed out. I was looking around; trying to find Harry but it was so packed I could barely move. Mikie and Zee pushed their way to the dance floor and I walked over to the bar, my usual spot.

“Welcome back- you’re here about six days early.” I looked up and saw Chad, the bartender.

“Hey Chad.” I said, half smiling.

“Rough weekend already?”

“You have no idea…”

“Does it have to do with that Styles boy?” I raised an eyebrow and looked at him.

“How do you know about him?” I asked in shock.

“Who didn’t is the better question. Don’t look now but…he’s coming this way.” He slid me my drink and walked away. It took all my strength not to turn around and look.

“Excuse me!” Harry called to Chad. I looked down at my drink, trying to avoid his gaze. He sat on the stool with a thud. I could tell just by the sound he’s been here for awhile.

“Yes Harry?”

“Can I have a refill?”

“I don’t know if you should have one Harry…” Chad said. He slammed his hand down on the table, making me jump.

“First I get in a fight with this girl that I know, than she pushes me away because she doesn’t like who I am the minute she learns my name, and now I can’t even get a drink?!”

“Ask the girl who knows nothing about you if you can have another drink.”

“I’m trying to forget about her…but it’s hard. Okay? It’s hard forgetting someone who treated me normally!”

“Give him another drink, Chad.” I finally cut in. Harry silenced and I looked up at him. Chad walked away to get Harry his drink.

“And you’re fucking here.” Harry slurred.

“I’m also here for the same reason…sort of.” I whispered.

“Yeah, like you have a reason. You’re life is seemingly perfect. You can get people to fall for you without a problem.”

“You of all people should know it isn’t perfect. You have the seemingly perfect life in my eyes…”

“How?” Harry asked as Chad slid him his drink.

“Let’s see…you’re rich, famous, you have millions of girls worshiping you, and you have the life everyone dreams of living…”

“And you think that makes me happy?”

“I’m going to say no because of what I’m seeing now.”

“Well, that’s right. What’s the point of all of this if none of it makes me happy?”

“There really isn’t…” I said slowly.

“What would make me happy though, is the girl I’ve grown to know would let me into her life. I want to share it all with her.”

“Go tell her that than.” I said slowly.

“I did. She told me to leave because I’m famous.”

“Harry…I didn’t mean what I said…I do care for you…so much. You were there when no one else was…”

“And so were you.” Harry said, cutting me off.

“How?”

“You always made me smile. Granted, I was listening to your problems but you knew how to make me smile. You didn’t judge me…that’s a plus.”

“I think…”

“I like you.” Harry blurted out.

“And I like you too…” I said without thinking. Harry smiled and leaned in to kiss me. I smiled and kissed him back as my phone started vibrating.

Since you and Styles are good, Mikie and I are leaving – Zee

Okay…thanks for coming tonight though

Of course. Have fun tonight love – Zee

I smiled and turned back to Harry. I pulled on his shirt and started kissing him again. After we kissed for a little while, Harry and I decided to leave the club. We walked over to his car and he helped me in.

“Where are we going?” I asked as he pulled onto the highway, going in the opposite direction of my house.

“My place.” He said. For him being drunk, he was driving pretty well. I didn’t know if it was because he was used to it or if he had been downing water throughout the night and I didn’t realize.
