Cocktails and Cigarettes

When Bethany has relationship problems, she finds comfort in going to clubs and drinking. So what happened when she begins to shadow Lou Teasdale? Will her and Harry hit it off, or will she push him away because the cocktails and cigarettes bring her more comfort? *Includes self harm references/actions, cursing, sex, smoking, and alcohol*

11. Ch. 11

I woke up the next morning to my alarm buzzing loudly. I groaned and rolled over to turn it off. I forced myself out of bed so I could start getting ready for school. I dragged myself to the shower and showered quickly. When I got out, I pulled on high-low black and pink dress. The top was black, and the skirt of the dress was a light pink. I pulled on black boots and a black blazer. I quickly did my makeup and then made my way to the kitchen so I could grab something to eat before I went to grab a cab. I stopped short when I noticed an omelet sitting on a plate with a mug of tea.

“I figured you would be hungry.” I jumped and turned to the sound of Harry’s voice.

“Did you stay the night…?” I asked slowly. Harry nodded and shrugged like it was nothing. I wordlessly sat down and ate the breakfast Harry made for me.

“So, uhm…I’m going to bring you to school.” Harry blurted out as I continued to eat. I stopped chewing and looked up at him. “What? It’s gotta be better than taking a cab everyday…” Harry pointed out.

“Well, yeah…but…why are you doing this for me?” I asked as I swallowed.

“Because…I like you.” Harry said quietly. I nodded slowly and finished up. I placed the dishes in the sink and followed Harry to the elevator.

When we got to the lobby, I saw Zee standing by the door, fidgeting with her bag.

“ZEE!” I yelled. She looked up at me. She looked disheveled.

“Hey love. Hi Harry.” Zee said with a nod.

“Uh…hello.” He said slowly.

“Bethany told me about you. So, what are you doing here this early?” Zee asked, looking back down at her bag.

“I never left…I’m giving Bethany a ride to school.”

“That’s a nice boyfriend you have there, Bethany.” Zee said, gritting her teeth.

“We aren’t dating…” I said slowly.

“Oh…well…you should.” Zee pointed out, making Harry and I both blush.

“Well, we should be going. We have quite the trip.” I said. Harry nodded. “I’ll see you later.” I said to Zee. She nodded as we walked by her to Harry’s car.

“She seems nice…” Harry pointed out as he pulled onto the road.

“She’s normally more down to earth than that; something must be going on with her, her family, or her boyfriend.” I pointed out. Harry nodded, keeping his eyes on the road. “And I’m sorry about the whole boyfriend comment…”

“I’m not.” Harry said. I looked over at him and he shrugged. “How about on Friday…we go on a date or something. You can bring Zee and her boyfriend if you want to make it a double date if that makes you more comfortable.” Harry blurted out in a rush.

“Can we make it a triple date?” I asked quietly.

“If that’s what makes you more comfortable; although, at that point it’s just a bunch of people hanging out.” Harry pointed out with a smirk on his face.

“Yeah, but you need to be approved by a few people if you want to earn the privilege of going on a date, just you and me.” Harry laughed and glanced at me.

“Okay Bethany…just let me know what you want to do that day. Do you want to put your number in my phone so I can call you later than?”

“Where is it?”

“My pocket.” Harry nodded to the pocket on my side. I reached over and started digging through his pocket to find his phone. Once I pulled it out, I put my number into his phone, texted me, and then put his phone back in his pocket. I saved his number into my phone and then put my phone back in my purse. “Here we are…” Harry drawled out about a half hour later as he pulled up to CSM.

“Thanks, I owe you.” I said.

“No you don’t.” Harry said. “I wanted to drive you here, remember. Have a good day.” Harry said. I pushed the door open.

“I hope you have a good day too.” I said as I hopped out of the car. I slammed the door and Harry waved as he drove away. I turned on my heels and started my way to my locker.

“Good morning.” I turned and saw Jesse walking next to me.

“Morning Jesse.” I said happily.

“And who was the attractive male that brought you to school today?” He asked with a sparkle in his eyes.

“Harry Styles.” I said as I bit my lip.

“I’ve always found him so sexy.” Jesse said, sighing.

“Jess…” I said with a giggle.

“Hey, you have to tell me how it all turns out with him. If you two don’t work out, can I have him?”

“Yeah, I’ll just go up to him and be like hey, my gay best friend has this massive crush on you, do you think you can fuck him for me? Okay, well…thanks.

“That’s good enough for me.” Jesse said. I laughed as we got to my locker. I opened it and pulled out my Fashion history and French books.

“Good morning beautifuls.” Melanie said as she walked up.

“Good morning.” Jesse and I said together.

“Are you excited for Prof. Hall’s project? It’s been killing me all weekend!” Melanie said dramatically.

“I totally forgot about it…” I said slowly.

“You always forget. The fact that you’re ranked number one in our class surprises me.” Jesse said.

“Shut up…no one asked you guys.” I demanded.

“Yeah, well…I just want to be able to pick my stylist.” Jesse demanded. I laughed as the bell rang.

“Okay, well you should get going. I can’t wait until third period to find out who we all get!” Melanie said as we all went our separate ways.

First and second period dragged on forever. I honestly just wanted to get the Fashion styling project. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a project ever.
