Loose Embrace

1. The man

I sat in my room staring at nothing in particular,

He was there as he always was,

Talking, Tempting,

His husky voice was entrancing,

It pulled me in in every way,

I wanted to follow it, to do whatever it asked,

Because he was beautiful.

And he offered peace that nothing else could,

His power could not be ignored,

Others didn't see his beauty when I simply could not ignore it.

"Come with me." He said. "I can take you somewhere better."

"No, I can't go with you." I told him but I was weak,

It's hard to deny him when he asks for what I want.

"If you come with me it will all be okay again."

I dropped my gaze to my feet.

He is too powerful, and too compelling.

"I must stay here, I can not go with you."

But I did not belong here, I belong with him.

"You know nobody here cares."

"I know."

He was right, as he always was.

"Then why are you afraid?"

"I'm not afraid."

"Then come with me."

"I don't want to hurt them."

A tear rolled down my cheek.

"But they would be happier if you leave. If you love them, you will come with me."

He was right. I knew it.

So I wrote a note.

I told them I was sorry for leaving,

But I couldn't deny him any longer.

It was not their fault but mine.

And then I went with him.

Just like he wanted.

Just like I wanted.

Just like they all wanted.
