3. Three.

It was as if a force suddenly took him away, William thought to himself. Somebody knew that he had Emetophobia, which was the fear of vomiting. He quickly drove home going through the early morning traffic that awaited William's arrival. He let out a curse under his breath, then began to feel a little more lightheaded. "You're not getting out alive for your motive." the whole scene came back again. Helen's multicolored eyes and slurred speech to match her ominous personality. William finally drove towards his desolate neighborhood, once being surrounded with the multitudinous amounts of innocent, young faces and old, jaunty souls. He began to press on the gas petal a little more as he noticed there were no police officers on duty. Once he arrived, William saw that Lenny was still outside. "Hi, boy! I'm home." William said in a carefree tone. Usually Lenny would be in a playful mood, but there was no sound coming from him. None of his usual gestures or occassional loud barks.. William grew concerned, "Something wrong, boy?" No response. William was a firm believer in dogs sensing danger, so he immediately asked Lenny where this apparent danger was. "Tell me why you're worried.. Show me the danger." Without hesitation, Lenny quickly lead him to the backyard. He began to slow down once he hit the backyard entrance of the attic. "Show me, boy. Show me." William repeated. He led him to the attic, where the piles of cob webs still crowded the room. "Oh my god.." William whispered, seeing the picture of him and Meredith smashed onto the floor. Shards of glass along with mysterious spots of blood were also visible. "Lenny, where are you going?" The old beagle dog began to run out once he noticed the scent of fresh, possibly human, blood. The door slammed, sending William to run to the dial-up telephone. "Son of a gun.." he said under his breath. "Must be that damn neighbor dog.." But it wasn't. Helen's voice was on the other side. "Let me in." she said in a raspy tone. "Let me in, let me in."

"W.. what did you need?"

"I want to talk to you." her normal voice returned. "It's a serious matter."

William slowly opened the door quickly becoming cautious of what may happen. "Wait, how did you find my address?!"

"I just know." said Helen. "I have my ways.." he unlocked the door and as he saw her bruised up face, William nearly fainted sending the telephone to fall to the ground.

"W.. what in the bloody hell is wrong with your face?!" William asked.

"I'm not beautiful?" Helen began to plead, "Please, for the love of our lord Jesus Christ, tell me I'm beautiful!"

"You are a beautiful woman, but you need to tell me what happened to your face so we could take you to the emergency immediately."

"I.. I.." she struggled to speak, but quickly ran away towards the field.

"Wait!" William shouted. She begin the lead the chase towards a tall cliff that lead to a freeway. "For the love of god, do not jump.. I don't want you even more injured!"

"You don't understand." Helen cried. "I'm a big disappointment to you.. I love you, William." Without another word to be said, she jumped leaving William on the verge of tears. Somehow, the tears could not come down. Instead, he kept having several flashbacks that involved Meredith's tragic death. Her unexpected suicidal act of violence.. The person that gave Kate no mercy. The one memory of her that could not be forgotten.
