Two people, one spark, a change of a lifetime. Who knew what one spark could do to two totally different people.

2. Meghan

"There you are, Meghan. Were you reading AGAIN?" Mrs. Chase said, right as Meghan walked through the door.

"Yes, Mom, I was. Is that such a crime?" she replied.

"No, I suppose not. Just....go up to your room until Joseph gets here." Mrs. Chase told her daughter.

Meghan nodded and went up the spiral staircase to her room to wait for her mother's boyfriend to come.

She changed into flannel pajama bottoms and an old T-shirt of hers. She tied her hair up and walked over to her very large bookcase.

She had thousands upon thousands of books. From poetry by Edgar Allen Poe, to romance novels by Nicholas Sparks. Her favorites were Harlequin Teen novels by authors like Julie Kagawa and Kailin Gow.

She returned her copy of The Iron Queen to its place on her book case and grabbed another book, a new edition to her book collection.

"Beautiful Creatures. I've been dying to read this one." she said to herself, moving over to her comfy recliner.

As she started to read the first chapter, she heard a noise downstairs. A door close, signaling that Joseph was back.

She marked her spot in the book and headed downstairs.

"There you are, Meghan! Have a seat. We have something to tell you." Mrs. Chase told her.

"You're not pregnant are you.....?" she asked.

The two adults laughed. "No, I'm not."

Meghan smiled. "Well then, what is it?"

Her mother looked at her boyfriend and smiled.

"We're getting married."

Meghan's eyes went wide. She was happy for them, but very bemused at the same time. They hadn't even known each other for a year and they were getting married.

"Well? Meg?" Joseph snapped Meg out of her thoughts.

"I'm very happy for you." she said, with no emotion, before leaving the room and escaping to her own private room.

Mrs. Chase looked at her fiancé before following her daughter up the stairs.

"Meg, honey?" she called, knocking on the white door, "Is everything alright?"

No answer.

A second later, the door opened. Meg didn't make eye contact with her mother, but allowed her access to her room.

"Why are you getting married?" she asked her mother.

"What do you mean 'why'?"

"You guys haven't even known each other for a year and you're getting married. Why?" Meg asked, sitting down on her Queen-sized bed.

"Well, when we first met, there was some sort of......connection. A spark. It was like your mind was telling you 'This person is The One' I guess you could say. And then, when we had our first kiss, it was like fireworks. And there was that spark again. But stronger. It's almost like we were meant for each other. Like love at first sight."

Meghan thought for a moment, then smiled. "I think I had a spark earlier, Mom. On the beach."

Her mother smiled and leaned in. "Well, you can't leave me hanging, Meg. Tell me all about it."

And she did. Meghan told her every last detail of that 'spark' she was sure she had with Logan.

"Honey, I think you found 'The One'." her mother told her.

Meg smiled.

'Let's hope I did.'
