For more than two years, Dani has suffered from the abuse of her ex-boyfriend. After escaping her abusive home, Tyler is set on keeping his promise, ending her life. What he doesn't know, ending hers, isn't just ending one.

24. 24

I woke up to the sound of someone pounding on the front door. I looked at the clock; 2:30. I rolled my eyes and got out of bed. I slowly opened the door to see Tyler,  "Where's Delilah?" He shouted grabbing my arm and pulling me outside.

"I don't know?" I pulled my arm out of his hands.

"Don't lie to me!" He screamed.

"Shh! I don't know where she is!"

"She left with you!" I heard someone get up and shuffle around.

"Dani? Is that you outs-" Jake stopped when he saw Tyler, "What are you doing here?"

               "Where's Delilah?" Tyler ignored Jake.

"I don't know." Jake quickly pulled me inside, slamming the door behind him. Tyler continued pounding on the door.

"Who's here?" Delilah said entering the living room. Jake and I looked at each other, then Delilah.

"Tyler." I sighed. I could the fear in Delilah's eyes.

               "He knows I'm here?"

               "Not exactly.."

"I can't be here, I need to go somewhere." She went into the guest bedroom to get her things.

"No, you shouldn't be running from him Delilah. We're going to put a stop to this!"

"We can't stop him! Don't you understand that!" She cried.

"I'll figure something out." I said hugging her.

"Look, I just want to make sure we're in a good place." Jake said handing me a plate of breakfast.

"I don't want to fight with you anymore." I stood up and gave him a hug. He kissed me, and gave me back the engagement ring.

"When are you going down to the station?"

"Now." I smiled and kissed him goodbye.

"Okay Danielle, let's start from the very beginning, when you and Tyler were dating.." Officer Jenson smiled and started to record our session.

"It was my senior year of high school, he was new. We became good friends, he seemed like a great guy. When we started dating, about six months into our relationship, he was different," I paused, "I noticed a side of him I don't like."

"Is this when he began abusing you?"

"Yeah, I'd come home with bruises. I'd lie to my parents, tell them I feel or it happened at school." I started to tear up, "I really thought he'd change. I believed he could, and when he asked me to move in, I thought this would be a new start for us. It wasn't." I sighed.

"What do you mean, 'it wasn't'?"

"I basically had a curfew, and a bedtime. Later on, I couldn't go out at all, because I was broken. I had cuts, bruises, burns, that covered me head to toe. When I went to the bathroom, he'd watch. When I took showers, he'd the lock the bathroom door. When I cooked for him, he'd throw it at me, or press my hand on the burners." I looked down at my scarred hand, a tear splashed onto my palm. Officer Jenson pulled out photos they had taken of me a year ago.

"Did Tyler also do this to you?" He held up the photos.

"Yes." He nodded and told me to keep going, "My second year with him, he started to rape me. A lot. There was this one night, he brought home a girl. She was too drunk to tell left from right, she actually happened to be my sister." I sighed, "He made me stay in the closet, and made me listen to them have sex."

             "How long was she there?"

"Until noon, the next morning." I tapped my fingers against the table.

"Alright, let's fast forward. What happened a couple nights ago?"

"I went over to Delilah's and when I arrived she seemed nervous. We talked for awhile, and she rolled up sleeves, then I notice the burns running down her right arm. I was yelling at her, telling her she had to leave as soon as she could. Tyler heard me." I paused, "He came downstairs yelling at us. I yelled back, which caused him to retaliate."

              "How'd he retaliate?"

"He punched me in the face, and chocked Delilah." He was writing everything down.

              "Thanks for your time."

I walked out and saw Tyler sitting in another room being interrogated. He was throwing the chairs and yelling, "I didn't touch either of those fucking whores'! They're both crazy!" I stopped and listened. "I didn't do anything to them!" I flung open the door.

"You're lying!" I shouted starring at the officer, "He's lying!"

"You can't be in here!" The officer grabbed me and pulled me back.

"I told you she's fucking crazy!"

"You did this to me!" I screamed. "You did this!"
