For more than two years, Dani has suffered from the abuse of her ex-boyfriend. After escaping her abusive home, Tyler is set on keeping his promise, ending her life. What he doesn't know, ending hers, isn't just ending one.

23. 23

I turned the key and walked inside, Ellie came running from her bedroom into my arms, "Mommy!" She shouted.

"Hi baby!" I smiled kissing her cheek.

           "Where were you?" She giggled.

"Mommy, was at work silly!" I smiled when she scrunched her nose. I carried her into the kitchen and put her in her highchair. "Strawberries or nanas?" I smiled.

"Nanas!" She screamed. I gave her mashed up banana's and got myself a cup of coffee. Jake walked into the kitchen and smiled, "Hey." I didn't respond to him, just smiled. He scratched his head and sat across from me.

"Hi Daddy!" Ellie smiled with bananas all over her rosy cheeks. He kissed her nose, and we sat in silence for about fifteen minutes.

"Well, Ellie, Mommy has to go back to work." I stood up and kissed her forehead.

"Dani, wait." Jake said standing up as I was almost out the door. "I'm really sorry."

"I know." I said crossing my arms, "And I'm late for work." I walked out and got in my car.

"Dani!" He shouted, I rolled down my window when he approached the car, "I love you." I rolled up the window, pulled out of the driveway and went to work. No matter how many times he said he was sorry, or said how much he regretted it, things wouldn't be the same between us. That ran through my mind all day.

"Sit." Delilah said as I entered the living room, "Want anything to drink?" She smiled.

"No, I just want you to explain." I sighed. Delilah rolled up her sleeves, I noticed burns running down the middle of her right arm, "What's this?" I said grasping her arm.

"Nothing." She quickly pulled away, and rolled her sleeves down.

"Now you have two things to explain." I sat back and crossed my arms, "Jake first."

"I kissed him, but Dani, don't be mad at him. It was my fault, he pushed me off and told me to leave." She cried, "I was so embarrassed."

             "You guys didn't have sex?"

"No! It was just a kiss!"

"Okay, just tell me what the hell Tyler's doing to you!" I shouted.

             "It's nothing."

"Delilah, I've been through this, with the same person. I know how to get through this, I can help you Delilah. Let me help you get out of here!"

"I'm having his child! I can't just leave!" She shouted.

             "I did!"

Tyler came down the stairs, "What's all the fuss abou- Dani! Long time no see, babe!" Anger flared inside me.

"You stay the hell away from my sister!"

"She's having 'my' baby, " He paused, "Speaking of babies, looks like you're having another one?"

I got in his face, "I'm warning you, " I screamed, "Stay the hell away from my sister!" His hand hit my face, hard.

"No, I'm warning you. Stay out of my way." He laughed, as I hit the ground.

"Tyler, stop!" Delilah screamed. Tyler raced over to Delilah and wrapped his hand around her neck, I could see the fear in Delilah's eyes. I couldn't help her, I couldn't even help myself.

The whole ride home I kept starring at Delilah, "You okay?" I asked her. She kept clenching her stomach.

"Fine." Tear were rolling down her cheeks.

"You'll get through this." I smiled wiping away her tears.

"Do you know what it's like having to cover your bruises at work? It's so embarrassing.." She was sobbing, heavily, "The worst part is, I'm having his child!"

"You'll get through this." I repeated.

"No I won't. Do you know what it's like? Do you Dani?" She yelled at me.

"Yes, I do! I was with him for over two years. I had his child. I took him back after everything he'd done to me. Do you know what it's like being given up on? Not seeing your family for three years?" I yelled back, "I got you out early. It may not feel like that, but those were minor things, he could've kill you and the baby!"

            "You're right.." She cried.
