For more than two years, Dani has suffered from the abuse of her ex-boyfriend. After escaping her abusive home, Tyler is set on keeping his promise, ending her life. What he doesn't know, ending hers, isn't just ending one.

"What!" Jake said running into her nursery.

"Ellie's gone!" I fell to the ground and began to sob. Jake ran into the room and dialed 911.

           "9-1-1, what's your emergency?"

           "My girlfriend's daughter is missing."

           "How old is she?"

           "She's only a year old."

"How long has she been missing?"

"We don't know, we got up to check on her, and she wasn't in her crib."

"What time did you put her to bed?"

           "What? Like around nine?"

"Sir, I'm sorry, but we have a 24 hour policy. Your child has to be missing for at least a period of twenty four  hours," the operator paused, "Tomorrow around this time, we'll send officer's down. What is your address?"

           "6412 North Glenwood Avenue."

The rest of our night was spent sitting around the phone waiting for someone to call, or someone to walk in with Ellie in their arms saying they've got her.

"Hello," The officer said as I opened the door, "I'm Sheriff Parks. I'm working on your daughter's case." I asked him to come in and have a seat. He went over the basics and assured me that he'd find my daughter, but they all say that. They always give you false hope. "Is there anyone in your life who would be considered a threat?"

"Actually yes," I was breathing fast and heaving, "My ex-boyfriend Tyler, her father. He actually abused me for a couple years." Sheriff Parks sighed and wrote something down on his notepad. "Just, please find her."

"I'll do everything I can. If Tyler tries to get ahold of you let me know." He gave me his number and left.

"We'll get her back." Jake smiled kissing my forehead. I held on to him, I didn't want to let go.

I woke up around 2 a.m., to the sound of my phone going off, "Hello?" I was barely even awake.

"Ellie's fine, I'll bring her back tomorrow evening, on one condition."

"Okay. Anything!" The other end went silent, "Hello?" He hung up. I threw my phone and fell to the ground in tears. "I just want my baby back!" I screamed. Jake came running from the other room. "Are you okay, baby?" He said wrapping his arms around me.

"He takes everything from me!" I buried my face into his chest, with endless sobs. He ran his fingers through my hair and kissed my head.

"We'll get her back. I promise." He kissed my forehead.

"Dani!" I got up from the bed and sprinted into the living room. "Someone's here!" Jake said anxiously. I opened the door, to see Delilah holding Ellie. "You bitch!" I took Ellie from her and slammed the door in her face.
