9. Zayn's POV 5

When I got home, Cassidy was still asleep. Considering it was about 11:00 now and she said her head hurt. I walked over to the couch once I quietly shut the door. My mind was still playing back over and over again what just happened in better detail then I remember it. I leaned over her peaceful budy and kissed her on the cheek. "Night, Cass." I whispered towards her. I dimmed all the lights and walked upstairs to my room.

I would have slept downstairs on the other couch to stay by Cassidy, but  something told me not to. Something told me she would be fine.

The next morning, I rushed downstairs to see if she was awake. She wasn't yet, but her phone was. Someone with the name 'Marley' was calling her. I answered it.

"Hey Cassidy! How are you? I thought you'd never answer!" She said excitedly.

"Hello." I answered. Marley had an American accent just like Cassidy. She must have been been from the same part of the country. "Cassidy's sleeping, love." The other end of the line was silent. "Are you there?"

"Who are you?" She hesitated, the excitement in her voice was lost. "And why do you have Cassidy's phone?"

"I'm Zayn, a good friend of Cassidy's. Something happened yesterday and she's still recovering from it."

"What did you do to her!?" She screamed over protectively. "She's only 16! You ruined her reputation, you devil!!" She shouted at me.

"No, no." I said calmy. "I didn't do that, and I wouldn't do that! I'm 16 as well, and I don't think either of us would be ready for that kind of commitment." I assured her. "Besides, we're just friends."

"Oh, okay." She cooled down. "What happened?" She questioned."

"It would be better if you found out for yourself. Would you like to come see her?" I asked hopefully.

"Of course!" She said excitedly again. "Where do you live?"

"You know where Cassidy moved to right?"

"Britain. I know."

"Well then, I'll pay for your flight over, and we'll meet at the airport. I'll have a sign that says you're name, then the bus will take us back. I don't have a car yet."

"Okay! Should I get ready now?"

"Sure, the next flight leaves in about an hour and a half." I said checking the schedule I kept on my fridge for emergencies. They happened a lot around here.

"Okay, do you have a phone so I can call you instead, so I don't wake Cassidy?" I gave her my number and the flight that would be taking her here. She said thank you and hung up. Cassidy would be so happy when she finally woke up. I went upstairs to get dressed once I put the phone back on the side table.

"Ouch! Oh, my head.." I ran downstairs when I hear her voice and a loud thump. She woke herself up by falling off the couch.

"Oh my god, are you alright?" I asked. I laughed as I helped her up. She asked me where I went, why I wasn't still on the couch. I hesitated, but my answer was a lie. "I went to the corner store to get some milk," I replied. I felt terrible for lying to her. She believed me and asked where the bathroom was. She needed it, she didn't smell too great. I led her up the stairs and showed her. She got inside thebathroom and I slipped back downstairs. I needed to get to the airport before she got out of the shower. Marley was on an express flight, so it wouldn't take as long as an average flight. I caught the bus and got over to the airport. Sure enough, Marley found the sign within a minute or two of the landing. She was very pretty, and she looked like the type of girl Cass would hang out with.

"I'm Marley." She said nicely and stretched her arm out for me to shake it. I shook her hand and replied.

"I'm Zayn." I said with a smile. "Let's head over to the bus stop." She nodded and followed me.

"You're kinda cute." She said with a chuckle. "And you're accent is attractive."

"Haha, thanks." I said and laughed. "I like you're accent, too. I've never been to America." I said as we found our seats on the bus. We made conversation and got to know each other before the bus took us back to my apartment. I led her inside and I ran upstairs. I grabbed her jeans from the wall and made sure Cassidy was still in the shower. When I heard the water still running, I threw the jeans in the washer and dryer and floded them neatly. This girl takes long showers! I walked into my room and found my dark blue hoodie. I floded that up and put it on top of her jeans. The water stopped and I stood in my bedroom doorway. Marley was behind the basement door, and she was going to surprise Cassidy.

She opened the bathroom door and the hallway was filled with steam from the hot water. She bent over to pick up her clothes. "Nice shower?" I asked. She jumped and her towel nearly came loose.

"Don't scare me like that, you jerk!" She yelled at me, jokingly. "Where were you when I called you before?"

"It's a secret." I put my finger of my lips and started downstairs. I went into the kitchen and threw some ham on a skillet. I made ham the way my aunt used to make it, and I wanted to show Cassidy I could cook. It smelled amazing. She came downstairs and looked as amzing as the ham smelled. Even in an over sized sweater and a messy bun, she was still gorgeous. I tried to keep my jaw from dropping.

"You're just full of surprises aren't you?" She asked, leaning against the doorway.

"I have a surprise for you later, or tomorrow, or whenever they get here, and I think you'll really like it. It was kind of a last second thing, but she was happy to do it."

"Who was?"

"Someone," I answered fast. "Someone special from back home." I focused on the food again.  I walked out of the kitchen real fast and hit my knuckles on the basement door. This was the signal for Marley to come out soon. I walked back to the kitchen and she opened the door. Cassidy turned around and the biggest smile I ever saw spread across her face.
