Wings

{Shortlisted for the Sony Young Movellist of the Year 2013! - DUE TO BE EDITED}

Firstly, it was just the prisoners that were used.

Then it became orphans, and even some of the elderly.

Now it is everyone in a society where people are struggling to find work.

Money is offered to anyone willing to volunteer themselves or their children to take part in scientific trials run by the organisation called Calox.

Except no one ever gets the money.

No one is ever seen again once they've volunteered for the trials.

26. Author's Note

Hello,

   As some of you will know, Wings was shortlisted for the Sony Young Movellist of the Year award in 2013. Obviously, it didn't win. It needs a lot of work doing to it and I knew so from the very beginning. However, I was delighted to be at the awards ceremony and just wanted to say a massive congratulations to Helen Hiorns for winning!

   Anyway, Wings is my first full-length novel. I've never written anything of this scale before and I'm really happy to have been able to finish it. I am in the process of planning a sequel in case anyone is interested, but that could be quite a while away yet! I'm starting sixth form in September and I definitely don't want to neglect my studies.

   I just wanted to say a big thank you to anyone who has stopped by to read Wings. I really appreciate all of the support. Every read, like, and comment means the world to me. You really have no idea how much you guys alone have helped my confidence to grow as a writer.

   I won't drone on any longer - don't worry. If you have any questions regarding Wings, let me know. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

   - Danielle x
