No Man's Land

Emily and Brad were meant to be together, but both their parents disapprove, forcing them to break up. Emily can't let Brad go, until she has to when Brad goes off to fight in the was, for the opposite side. Emily is torn. One day she gets a note from Brad saying to meet him at the camp, but only to be let down again, but she refuses to let him go.

Authors Note: This is a slightly true story. The characters are real and the plot is basicly all true besides the setting of the story isn't real, it's a totally made up land, and Brad never went off to war. Anyway! I hope you like it!

8. The Dream

I walked through the Black village. I didn't know why I was there but I knew I was looking for somthing, or someone. I recognised the bar and walked in. Sitting in the far back corner was Brad. He looked the same as he did when I last saw him. He had a beer bottle in his hand and he staired down at the table as if it was a entertaining show. I walked over to him and when he looked up at me he smiled.

"Oh Princess, I'm so sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. Please forgive me?" Brad asked as he stood up and gave me a hug.

"For leaving me or for breaking up with me?" I questioned as I pulled away from the hug.

"Both. I'm so stupid. I really don't know what I was thinking but I wish I could take it all back. Please forgive me?" Brad asked again. I slowly nodded my head in agreement and Brad smiled returned.

I woke up and smiled. If the dream was true then Brad did want me back. I heared my mum down stairs getting ready to start cooking and I quickly got dressed and slid down the ladder to go fetch some water. I quickly walked out the door and past my mum. I didn't want to talk the her right now. I grabbed the water bucket the was outside the door and ran to the water well. When I got there I saw my friend Cas. I hooked my bucket up to the rope and lowered the bucket down into the darkness below.

"Hey Emily," Cas said.

"Oh hey Cas," I said a bit absentmindly.

"Anything wrong?" she asked as I began to pull the bucket up.

"I just had a dream that I'm thinking about, it was about someone that I used to love," Cas looked at me and knew who I was talking about. Cas never liked Brad, and I knew that.

"My pa said that if you dream of someone then they are thinking of you," Cas said as she touched my arm. "And whatever you dreamt about, it's what they are thinking." I smiled at Cas. So Brad did want me back. I quickly untied the rope and started walking back home.

"Thanks Cas, but I just remebered something I have to do," I said as I walked away.
