Emily can't let Brad go, until she has to when Brad goes off to fight in the was, for the opposite side. Emily is torn. One day she gets a note from Brad saying to meet him at the camp, but only to be let down again, but she refuses to let him go.

Authors Note: This is a slightly true story. The characters are real and the plot is basicly all true besides the setting of the story isn't real, it's a totally made up land, and Brad never went off to war. Anyway! I hope you like it!

Brad was tall. He had long brown hair that would flop over his eyes, and these dark dark brown eyes that always looked sad. Emily was short. She had short blonde hair and deep blue eyes that Brad said looked like the ocean. This is our story. This is my story. The story of who I was.

I slid into my desk in the back of the class. The teacher had rearranged the desks so they were no longer in rows. Now they were in tables. Four at each. I enjoyed sitting in the back. I could sit quietly and watch the cute boy Brad that was the troublemaker. He was always being stupid. Running around the class, telling jokes, always talking. Each class had a troublemaker, and I never liked any of them. I was always the quite girl that stuck to herself, her books, and her circle of friends. The teacher stood up and announced that we would be getting a new seating chart. I moaned as she started calling out where people would sit. I sat in the front corner, right across from Brad. I didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I wanted to get to know Brad better but I didn't want him to get me in trouble.

I stood up and moved to my new desk. Brad sat down across from me and smiled. I smiled back.

"Hi there, I'm Brad," Brad had said as he stuck his hand out to me.

"I'm Emily," I said as I shook his large, guitar player hands.

We started talking, and we talked the entire class period. I don't think I got anything out of the lesson. Brad was a lot like me. We both were really into music, and back when he lived in Organ he was in a band. He wrote his own lyrics and played guitar. The bell rang and Brad said goodbye and walked across the street to Wal-mart. I walked into the lunch room with a huge grin on my face. All my friends would always be in the lunch room, so I just would always go there even though I would never eat the school food. I sat down on the table and my friend Cas came walking up.

"Hey Emmy! Why are you in such a great mood?" Cas asked as she gave me a hug.

"Oh no reason," I said but Cas knew me too well and she punched my arm. "Ok fine!" I caved. "I met this boy and I really like him," I said as I giggled a bit.

"Ohhhhh! Who is it!?" Cas exclaimed.

"Brad," I said.

"Stevens?" Cas asked his last name. I nodded. "Uh uh, he's no good for you," Cas said as she shook her head. "He's the stuck up skater boy that leads girls on. Trust me, he's just going to hurt you,"

"How do you know? He just moved here. And he seems like a really nice guy," I said defending Brad.

"Believe me girly, I have dated more guys than you and a few of them have been like Brad. He's a playa' and a jerk," Cas said as the bell rang. I stood up and gave Cas another hug and went to class.

I didn't want to believe Cas, but she was my best friend at the time. I sat down in my last class and thought about what Cas had said. A hour later the bell rang and I walked outside to the bus. As I was walking I ran into someone. I looked up to apologize. I looked up and saw the long brown hair and the sad looking brown eyes. It was Brad.

"Sorry Emily," he said as he place a hand on my shoulder. "That was totally my fault,"

"No it was mine. I was just thinking and wasn't paying attention," I said. Brad laughed a bit.

"So where are you heading?" he asked me.

"To the bus, on my way home," I said.

"Oh well do you want a ride home? I have my dad's car today, I would be glad to drive you home," Brad said.

"Yea sure, that would be great," I said. Brad took my backpack and I thanked him. Cas was wrong. Brad wasn't gonna hurt me, he was too nice. "I didn't know you could drive," I said.

"Oh I can't, I still have my perment. So if we get pulled over then were screwed," Brad laughed. I looked at him and then started laughing.

"How old are you?" I asked. "I thought you could drive."

"I'm still 15, I turn 16 in July," Brad said as he led me to his car that was parked behind the school. He opened up the door for me and then he got in. As he started the car I stared at him. "What?" he laughed.

"I'm older than you!" I laughed. Brad smiled. Brad drove me home and I gave him directions to where my house was. When he pulled into my driveway I thanked him and started to get out of the car but Brad grabbed my arm.

"Do you have a cellphone?" he asked.

"Yea, wanna see it?" I asked as I sat back down. He nodded. I pulled out my phone that I had just gotten for Christmas and handed it to him. Brad took it and added his number to my contacts. Then he handed me his phone and I added my number. We hugged and then I got out of the car. I waved until Brad was out of my driveway. I looked down at my phone and saw his name.

Brad :)
