Fates Game-Elis Story

I recall a time when she remembered me. A time when I was happy. A time when she would smile, laugh and enjoy the feeling of being together. Now she has forgotten me and I have to win her back, or I will disappear forever.

10. Winter-Warmth

My room was frozen...no surprise there. It was always a cold and unwelcoming place, not even Summer came to visit me in my room anymore. He just sticks to his ice-cream. Thats as cold as he lets himself get. I wish I could feel warmth, the warmth of a fire, and the warmth of a hand. I stand up walking towards the selves of books I have and pick one. I will be alone for a while, at least so I might as well enjoy it, to some extents. As soon as I flip open the book, Fate walks in.

She smiles a smug smile, like she usually does, and ignores the icy glare I give her. "Oh you poor thing, you're all alone. Poor Winter. Is this how you spend all your days? Alone?"

"Leave me alone Fate," I scowl turning around. "I don't need your -"

"Ah ah ah," She waves her finger at me, which annoys me even further. "Don't you tell me what to do. Remember I know your Fate and I can change it with just a finger."

"What if I break all you fingers?"

"Ohhoho," She laughs bending down towards my ear. "Is that a threat or a promise?"

"Both," I snapped putting to book away.

"I would love to see you try," She laughed once more, throwing her head in the air. "Ah that thought amuses me!" She paused for a moment, waiting for me to face her. "You know what gets me?" She asked not waiting for a reply. "Why does Summer get all the care, Fall get the smarts. How Spring can be happy, and Eli gets to save someone he loves. But why are you all alone Winter? Why do you have to suffer for their well being? I see you alone in your room all the time, while the others are out and about. Happy in their lives. I see you cower in fear at your own power, while the others are fine with theirs." She places a warm hand on my face, sending a tingling sensation up it. "Don't you want revenge?"

I pushed her hand off my face, realizing she had burnt it with her warmth. As soon as I collected myself I slapped her as hard as I could right across the face. The smack echoed throughout the room, and silence reined down upon us. "You sicken me," I said my voice sounding icy. A crazed smile entered her face, and a laugh burst out breaking the silence. I picked her by the shirt, lifting her off the ground, "thing is I don't want revenge Fate. I don't like the hurt the others around me, and I sure as heck don't like messing with others lives. I. Am. Not. Like. You." When she was about two feet off the ground, I released her, letting her fall to her knees. "Leave me an my friends alone."

After she collected herself she stood, that creepy smile still on her face. "Thanks Winter for all your help."

When she leaves I look at my hands and wonder, what did I just do?
