Fates Game-Elis Story

I recall a time when she remembered me. A time when I was happy. A time when she would smile, laugh and enjoy the feeling of being together. Now she has forgotten me and I have to win her back, or I will disappear forever.

14. Elizer- Abandoned

We walk until he stops and makes a turn, he leads me to an abandoned looking house. It creaks when he places a foot on the first step. "What are we doing here?" I ask, but he just shakes his head. I follow him into the house. The house was dark, even with the sun shinning through the holes in the roof, it was still dark. But despite that darkness I could still see Xaivers hands shaking. I know he did not want me to know he was scared, so I did not say anything. He turned to me his voice shaky, "Elizer I will just cut to the chase here, I think we are safe to discuss this. I-" He gulped. "I am not a human anymore."

My heart started to beat fast, but I laughed anyways. "This is a joke right?" He shook his head. "Haha this is a good joke Xavier. What's next? Are you going to show me some magic or something? Oh this is just too good"

He grabbed my shoulders shaking my as he spoke. "I. Am. Serious. This is not a joke Elizer." He let go of me, " oh you don't believe me do you? I thought you where someone I could trust." My breathing quickened a little matching my heart beat. He can't be serious, can he? "Do you need proof?" He asked and I nodded. He took a deep cautious breath, "okay. But what you see, and hear, never leaves this room got it." I nodded. He turned the palm of his hand up, and closed his eyes. Icicles formed on his hand, they grew larger and larger. My head started pounding. But it still continued, the room grew cold. My vision blurred, my head went light, and the room spun. My vision blurred, the last thing I remember is Xaviers panicking voice calling out to me. Asking if I was okay.

        Was I?

.................................................................................................................................................................................

I woke up, Xavier sitting across from me, he had his hands on his face. The room was darker now, the sun had gone down. I got up from the ground and he turned to face me. "You're up?" He mumbled looking tired.

Everything came back to me in flashes, and panic came over me. It was just a dream wasn't it? I took a deep breathe trying to remain calm. I don't think it was a dream which meant my best friend was not human. Despite that I nodded gulping slightly, "When did this exactly happen? How did this happen?"

"Oh....yea. That thing." He looked away returning to his original position. "The thing is," his voice cracked as he continued. "I don't know." He took a shallow breath, it seemed like he was trying to hold back the tears. "I can't remember anything that happened in the past few weeks. Where was I? Who was I with?" It's so strange not remembering a portion of your life, not living it. You know?"
"Yea," I nodded. "I know." I stopped myself though, what did I mean I know? I remember everything there possibly is to remember, don't I? "How did you find out?"

"I was at home sitting in my room, doing my usual thing. Homework. My mother walked in and started yelling at me, telling me I was stupid, telling me I was a worthless, good for nothing son one that does not deserve her love. You know my mother she has always been strange. But I got frustrated and yelled at her to get out. She refused making me even more angry at her. She walked up to me getting all up in my personal space, and I shoved her back. Her eyes widened at me as she held up her hand, it was frozen solid. It started to get cold in my room and thats when-" He stopped himself.

"I get it. You don't have to tell me the whole story Xavier. We can figure out how to fix this problem and how you can live with it. I can help you." I said trying to convince myself more than him.

"No one can help me Elizer. No one. Not anymore."

       "Why not?"

"How can anyone possibly help me?" He shouted raising his voice even more.

"I can help you," A voice broke in behind us. It gave me chills, we both turned around to face the person who had heard the whole conversation.

       "What?" Xavier asked.

She shook Xaviers hand and then mine, "Hello, I can help you. Just call me the Fate."

"Fate? Isn't that a strange name?" Xavier said, the girl just shrugged. "Uh. Okay, how can you help us?"

"Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Wait," I broke in, "how can we be sure we can trust you?"

"It is either go out there and live with yourself, or come with me so I can help you. It is a simple as that." She said simply.

I looked at Xavier seeing he was considering this, "You can not be serious Xavier." I whispered, "you are actually going to go with her, and trust her? Think this through don't act rationally."

He looked at me seriously, "it is the only choice I have."

       "Not the only choice Xavier."

"I will just be holding you back Elizer." He said stepping forward. "Take me with you." Fate nodded grabbing Xavier by the arm and leading him away. Leaving me alone with one question in mind, should I go after him?
