3. The Judoon's Bargain

PART 3

THE JUDOON’S BARGAIN

AMY: Doctor! Get him back! Where did he go?

HARPAL: I am no corrosive acid expert; mind you I did pH scales in Chemistry.

AMY: Get to the point.

HARPAL: That did not look like he dissolved.

THE DOCTOR: Hang on a sec, the Judoon use the acid as a defence weapon, but what if it’s actually a type of magnet.

HARPAL: I was going to say teleport, but magnet?

AMY: Yeah magnet.

THE DOCTOR: It must be, I have got it! During my fourth incarnation, I went to this plant full of anti-matter, and if I took some anti-matter from the planet, then the ship would get dragged back to the planet, it could be the same with the acid. Whatever it touches, the object goes to the secret stash of the main substance. Get it?

AMY: Yeah, I think.

JUDOON COMMANDER: (Voice over) I am Judoon commander, I am on the intercom, you can respond to me, when I respond to you. We have one of your kind captive. Rory Williams.

AMY: Rory!

JUDOON COMMANDER: Justice will be swift.

THE DOCTOR: Wait stop! I can make you a deal! If you will give Rory back to us, we will return to our cells.

JUDOON COMMANDER: Judoon don’t trust prisoners. Prisoners must agree to stand still. And be locked in stasis.

FLASH TO JUDOON SHIP, RORY TURNS ROUND AND SEE’S A TIN MARKED CORROSIVE OIL, HE TURNS THE LOCK AND PUTS SOME INTO A SMALL PLASTIC CONTAINER.

FLASH BACK TO THE DOCTOR, HARPAL AND AMY.

THE DOCTOR: We promise, just give him back to us.

JUDOON COMMANDER: Teleporting prisoners to stasis locks chamber!

The three friends get beamed to an empty grimy room and are put into blue stasis locks.

JUDOON COMMANDER: Rory Williams shall be returned in approximately one minute.

The ground rumbles and shakes violently, as rock falls from the ceiling. Blue beams surround the three of them holding them still. JUDOON COMMANDER: 19 minutes to asteroid destruction.

AMY: Doctor what do we do?

All the Doctor can see is Amy’s mouth moving, they cannot hear each other.

HARPAL: Doctor! Think! You have to think how can we get out of here?

THE DOCTOR: I will think of something! I promise.

HARPAL: This is it isn’t it? There isn’t a way out now.

THE DOCTOR: I will get us out of here! I promise!

AMY: How?

THE DOCTOR: I am thinking.

Suddenly, Rory appears and he runs toward them. Stasis locks collapse after him, and he throws some of the oil over everyone’s stasis locks.

RORY: Quick! It will take a bit of time!

FLASH BACK TO JUDOON SHIP.

The commander is pressing buttons.

JUDOON COMMANDER: Bringing forth countdown to 10 minutes! Argh!

Suddenly sparks fly and stasis locks fly around him, the troopers and the controls.

JUDOON COMMANDER: Sco! Bo! No!

FLASH BACK TO THE OTHERS WHOSE STASIS LOCKS ARE LIFTED.

Amy runs to Rory and hugs him. Harpal turns round to look at a massive digital clock on the wall.

AMY: You are amazing!

THE DOCTOR: Good thinking Roman!

RORY: It was common sense really!

AMY: You saved us!

HARPAL: Guys, we have a really, massive, big problem.

Everyone turns round to face he clock, and the smiles drop of their faces.

THE DOCTOR: We have 9 minutes and 28 seconds to find the TARDIS and get out of here.

RORY: But the Judoon wont be able to blow us up, the stasis lock would have cut control from the buttons.

THE DOCTOR: The missiles are on automatic, he doesn’t have to press buttons, and it will do it automatically.

HARPAL: So that means we will get hit no matter what, right?

AMY: How far away is the TARDIS?

THE DOCTOR: I can’t tell, it’s quite far I think.

RORY: This is not good.

HARPAL: Come on! Doctor which way?

THE DOCTOR: Follow me!

The Doctor runs ahead, twisting down corridors and narrow alleys.

AMY: Are there going to be any more obstacles or can we take our time?

THE DOCTOR: Well, I forgot to mention, that unfortunately, after about 10 minutes the stasis lock will wear away, and we want to be gone by then!

HARPAL: You mean we will probably be dead by then we have 8 minutes!

THE DOCTOR: Technically not dead, more likely blown into smithereens!

HARPAL: That felt like pain not pleasure.

THE DOCTOR: Sorry.

They turn a corner but the Doctor stops, there is a electrical fence, which has 100 volts running through it.

THE DOCTOR: If you step into that, you will literally get frazzled.

AMY: Can you stop it?

THE DOCTOR: I can, but it will take a very long time, and we can’t get around any other way to the TARDIS.

HARPAL: This is bad.

THE DOCTOR: Relatively.
