Our Love

From New York to Melbourne, a small loft to a huge house. A new life, and a clean slate. Would it all be a life like any other, our would it change when a certain group of boys come into her life?

12. Having fun.

When the movie was over Jai stood up and stretched while yawning. He looked at me and smiled causing me to smile as well. I got up and he slowly trailed off to the door not saying a word, I followed behind him. He opens the door up and stands on the porch while looking at me. I lean on the door frame.

"I hope you have a good time on your date." He says, practically mumbling.

I smirk, "I'll try my hardest."

He shook his head and put his hands into his pockets while slowly walking off. I just stared at the back of his head while he inched away from my house. Jai would always say goodbye with a kiss or a hug, and he would always be laughing and talking to me during the movies we watched. He just edged to the other edge of the couch and didn't move at all, when he was out of my eye sight I closed the door slowly and dragged myself up the stairs so that I could get ready for the date. I went and got ready, putting on the clothes Jai set out for me and sitting down on my bed. I curled my hair the way Luke liked it, I ran my hands through my curls and frowned a bit. I sighed and stood up, brushing myself. I looked at myself dead in the mirror.

"Lei, you're going to go out. You're going to have fun tonight and you're not going to let Luke bring you down. You're going out with Craig today and it's going to be fun." I say confidently to my reflection.

I half smile then turn around looking at myself, I grab my phone and look to my doorway seeing that my mom is leaning in it.

"Going to have fun with Craig I see?" She asks.

I sigh and shrug, sitting down on my bed. "Yeah, I guess so."

"Well, from what I know of. You should be going out with Luke." She says, raising an eyebrow.

I looked at her, "Yeah well. Me and Luke didn't work out alright?" I say trying to avoid eye contact with her as she sits right next to me.

"What happened with you guys? I actually liked your relationship." She says.

"Well he caught his best friend going in and kissing me, then he kind of yelled at me about it. I went up and yelled back at him and stormed off, we didn't talk for a few days. When I finally thought it was time to talk to him, I went over and caught him messing around with his ex in his bedroom. I left and went to the park. I sat there until his friend came and comforted me. We went to his house and talked about everything that happened, until Luke came. He came and tried apologizing and getting me back but I just thought we should take a break and see other people. When I told him he just walked out and we didn't talk since." I explain.

"Wow, that was a mouthful wasn't it?" My mom said.

             I nodded, "Yeah."

She put her hand on my back and started to talk, "Well Lei. There's a lot of things that teenagers like you go through during relationships, and arguing is one of them. You can't just go without talking to Luke about the situation, but you can't blame him for it either. I think you should talk to him."

I look at her and smile, "It isn't that easy mom."

"Yeah, but I know that you know Luke is worth fighting for." She says as she gets up and walks out back to her room.

I tilted my head and kept replaying what she said, over and over. I was snapped out of my trance by the vibration of my phone.

              From: Craig x

              You ready babe?

              To: Craig x

Yep, I'm just waiting for you.

             From: Craig x

Wait outside I'm turning onto your street.

I shoot up and grab my purse. I walk down and open the door quickly, placing myself at the edge of the porch. I see a black, sleek Toyota pull up and the drivers seat window pull down. Craig smiles and waves me over. I roll my eyes and walk over to the car, getting into the passengers seat.

"Hey, you look nice." He says, smirking.

"Thanks," I say pausing, then I look over at him with a big smile. "Jai picked it out."

He shot a look at me, "Brooks knows about this? I'm surprised he even let you come." He says.

I look over at him, "Don't get used to my company." I say quickly.

He chuckled, "After tonight, you won't want me to leave your side." He says confidently, as he starts the car and smoothly drives down the road.

The car was silent, we pulled into a parking lot. I looked up at the sign that said, "Carrie's Diner." It was a cute little diner, located in the city. We both got out of the car and walked side by side into the diner. We grabbed seats and the waitress took our orders.

"I'm glad you said yes to this date you know." He says.

                I laughed.

"I was really mad when Jai didn't let me near you though. I didn't wanna get into that whole fight." He said.

I look up, "Yeah. It was just because I was in the middle of a relationship problem."

"Wait wait, don't tell me you go out with Jai?" He asks.

"No, no. I used to go out with Luke. But we didn't work out." I said, frowning.

His eyes widen, "Luke? Dot nose boy?"

"Yep, that's the one." I say awkwardly.

"My god, how dumb is he. Losing a girl like you. I mean look at you, you're perfect." He says.

I blush and smile, "Well, thanks."

The waitress came back with our food and we started to eat. I learned a lot about Craig, I learned that he liked volleyball, burgers, and a bunch of stuff that I like.

"Wow, I've never found someone like you that likes everything I do!" I said.

"Yeah me neither, that's amazing!" He says smiling.

"You have a little something on your-" I say pointing to his lip.

He smiled and licked it off, then winked at me. I couldn't help but laugh and shake my head. After a while we got up, our hands interlocked. We got into the car and just stayed silent the whole time, not letting go of our hands. When we got to my house he got out and opened my door for me and walked me to the porch.

"I had a really great time tonight," I admitted.

He smiled, "Yeah and so did I."

We leaned in and our lips met. I gave him a quick kiss before he could kiss me back. I smiled and quickly went inside, rushing upstairs to my mothers room.

                   "Hey mom,"

She sits up and looks at me, "Hey, how was it?"

"I actually had a really good time." I say, looking to the ground.

"Well, it doesn't look like it with that face." She says staring at me.

I sigh, "It's just, it feels weird going out with someone else other than Luke. Cause you know, he was my first real relationship."

"Aw honey, I know how you feel. But you need to learn on letting go of those you love. It may not be easy, but it's something you gotta learn how to do." She explained.

I half smiled and gave her a hug, I stood up and walked out of her room. I shut her door behind me. On my way to my room I get a phone call. I quickly pick it up and answer it while plopping onto my bed.

                   "Jai! What's up?" I ask.

"Nothing, just calling to remind you that your birthday is in 2 WEEKS EXACTLY!" He yells.

I laughed, "Thanks. But remember, no parties."

"Yeah right, how do you think I'm not going to throw you a party? You're crazy!" He says.

"Jai, don't you dare." I warned him.

"Watch me." He says as he hangs up the phone.

                   Jai's P.O.V.

I hung up and then looked over to Beau, who was sitting right next to me. Luke is upstairs since he's been spending a lot of time alone lately. I shook my head and started to speak.

"We are so throwing her a party!" I say.

"You know it! I can hook you up with girls and guys to go, and I already got her mom to let us use her house too. Our mom and her already have plans for themselves that night so it's a free house." Beau replies.

I high five him and smile, "Looks like we've got a party going!"
