7. Victory and Bad Engines

~Niall's P.O.V.~

I thought she'd be okay walking back by herself with Harry. I knew he wouldn't kiss her, because he didn't want to make it awkward. I was still very proud that I had kissed her before he had.

Not that it's a competition.

But, still. When I saw her coming back holding his hand, it was hard to keep from slapping Harry. We'd been best friends forever... And I can't hurt him. But, I still had many feelings for Gaia. I can't ignore them. I don't want to confess... and have her reject me.

"Niall," Gaia whispered, interrupting my thoughts. "Are you feeling okay?"

This was it. This is my chance to be alone with Gaia. Should I take it?

I shook my head.

"What's wrong, mate?" Louis said, concerned. Everyone stopped watching the game to glance at me. I felt a wave of guilt, but not big enough to stop.

"My head kinda hurts," I said looking at Gaia. "Will you help me find the bathroom?" Oh trust me, I know it's cheesy. I just wanted to talk with her alone for a while.

She nodded quickly. "Guys, if we're not back by the end of the game tell Nate I'm really sorry. Keep track of his goals for me, okay Taylor?"

She took my hand softly, and before I turned I caught a glance at Harry. He was looking at Gaia, and probably wondering why she had taken my hand.

I didn't even know why.

~Harry's P.O.V.~

She was leaving. With him.

I can't stand it.

I wanted Gaia with everything I had. She was beautiful, and she hadn't thrown herself at me like most girls who meet us had. She was ... everything to me.

And she was leaving with him.. Even if it was for a short time.

~Gaia's P.O.V.~

These guys are acting so strange today. I can't figure them out.

"You okay Nialler?" I asked, once he sat down at a bench near the bathroom.

"Yeah," he smiled, and patted the bench beside him. I sat down, and he pressed his shoulder against mine.

"I'm glad you're better. If you want, we can wait here until you're better-"

"I am better, but I'm not sure I want to go back to the game yet." He said, shocking me.

"Oh, that's cool then." I said. I'm not sure I fully understood what he was saying. His hand grabbed mine, and he pulled me up from the bench with him.

"Let's go walk around." He said, and immediately blushed. "If you want to."

I nodded. "Of course I do!"

He held my hand, and sent shivers down my spine. We walked around for a while, and watched the game from different parts of the stadium. At one point, Nate scored again, and I hugged Niall cheering. I noticed afterwards that he still had his arm over my shoulder, and I didn't shake it off. Niall was really sweet. I could get used to being around him; maybe develop feelings. But, annoyingly, as I was thinking about it, Harry's face kept popping into my mind. I kept shaking him out, but there he was.

I heard a loud buzzer, and the crowds were cheering like crazy. The marching band started to play, so I guess it was the end of the game.

"Come on," I laughed, and pulled him back to our friends. I dropped his hand before we got to the top, and squished into my seat again. Harry wasn't looking at me, and Taylor had a grim face.

"What's going on?" I whispered to her, as we walked down to the railing, where Nate was waiting.

"No idea," she said. "I think Harry got jealous of you being alone with Niall. Something like that, anyways."

I gasped, and Nate jumped over the railing.

"Did you see those goals?" he said, grabbing Taylor and shaking her.

"Hey! Don't mess up my hair," she complained, and we laughed.

"Congrats, man," said Zayn, giving him a knuckle-touch.

"Yeah bro! Almost as good as me," Louis said cheerfully.

Liam also congratulated him. "Yeah! Nice!"

Nate beamed. "What did you think," he asked me, after he talked to everyone.

"You did..." I trailed off with a sour-looking face. I instantly smiled and kept talking, "Amazing!"

He laughed, and patted my head. His face grew somber quickly.

"What's wrong?" I asked, concerned.

"That guy, Harry. He doesn't look very happy."

I sighed, and walked over to him.

"Harry, what's wrong?" I asked, worried.

"Nothing. I was just thinking. There's this low key party down at the harbor. I was wondering if you guys wanted to go."

I felt my smile brighten, and I hugged him. "Harry! That's a great idea. We can celebrate Nate's win!"

His dimples came out, and I felt relieved that he was alright now. Everyone agreed that the party was a great idea. It was casual, and there was only a few people coming. The boys had friends in town that were throwing the party, so there was no danger of screaming girls.

"Let's go get our cars, mates," said Louis, happily taking off into the parking lot.

"I'm his ride, so I don't know where he thinks he's going," Liam sighed, running after Louis.

"I think we parked near each other," said Taylor to Harry. "We can walk over there together."

"Hey, Niall," I called, as he turned to walk away.

"Yeah?" He said, his accent heavier for some reason.

"Where are you parked?"

He grinned. "Over by Louis. Sorry I can't walk with you too. We'll meet you in front of CJ's, and walk over to the harbor together."

"Alright!" I felt my face droop. "Too bad," I mumbled.

Niall waved goodbye, and followed Zayn farther away into the parking lot.

Taylor, linking her arm with mine, led me over to my car.

Harry leaned against the side. "You guys alright then?"

I climbed into the driver's seat with my keys, and smiled at him. "I think so."

I tried twisting the key, but my car gave a pitiful sound of exhaustion, and refused to start.

"I told you that this car needed to be replaced." Taylor said, laughing. She had an ''I told you so," look.

Harry had started walking away, but I ran up to him. "Hey, can we ride with you? My car ... just died on me I think."

He instantly brightened up. "Of course love. Come with me." I yelled for Taylor, and she followed us.

"I always thought that car looked kind of old," Taylor said.

"Hush! That car is my baby." I snapped, but still smiling.

"Well girls, feast your eyes. This car is my baby," Harry said, smirking.

In front of me, was the most beautiful car I ever seen. It was red, and had everything a guy could want in his car. The sound system was unbelievable, (I tested it on the way there to you know.. Make sure it works) and it had sweet leather seats and seat warmers.

"Oh.. My.. God." I breathed.

Harry smirked, and I got in the front seat. Harry slid into the driver's side, and Taylor took my keys.

"I forgot my bag!" She cried, and ran in the direction of the car. I guess we'll just wait for her.

"Like what you see?" Harry asked, as I gaped at the car, and looked at him stunned.

I nodded slowly. "This car is amazing."

He coughed. "I wasn't talking about the car, but okay."

Good thing Taylor wasn't here, because I blushed bright red.

"You know," Harry started, but didn't finish the sentence.

"Tell me," I prompted, begging. "Will it help if I bat my eyes at you?" I mocked, and stuck my tongue out at him.

"Do that and I may not be able to resist."

"Resist?"      What?...

"Yeah," he said, not answering my question.

"Do you really want me to answer you?" he said, smiling, but still serious.

I nodded, and he suddenly turned in his seat. His arm slid around my shoulders, and almost as if someone was moving me, I leaned towards him. I smelled his cologne again as he slid closer, and suddenly his lips were touching mine. He was kissing me, and I wasn't thinking of anything else. He wasn't forceful, like I expected. He was gently kissing me, and running his hand over my arm. I got goosebumps where he touched, and my heart was beating so fast I was sure he could hear it.

He put his hand up to my cheek, and put his right arm tighter around me. He pulled me closer, so that I was almost in his seat, and his lips brushed my ear.

There was a tap on his window.

"If you two are done..." said Taylor.

Now, Harry turned scarlet. His dimples were showing, and he was smiling, but he was blushing so hard. It was absolutely adorable. Taylor climbed into the back.

We drove to the harbor with the music blasting. Neither of us said a word, but Harry's smirk seemed to tell the world as we got out of the car. He purposefully bumped against me as we went to meet up with the others. I ignored him, but my heart was racing, and my stomach was flipping.

What has Harry done to me?
