Gaia, a sixteen year old girl with big plans as a singer, decides to go downtown in her home town. She's in a restaurant, humming to herself while waiting for her best friend, when suddennly a swarm of girls overtakes her, and she gets locked in a back room with One Direction. They heard her singing earlier, and things get interesting as she falls in love with the boys, and they fall in love with her...

1. Plans for Dinner

"Hey!" I called into the phone, as soon as Taylor picked up.

"Hey girlfrand! What's up? We're still on for dinner tonight, right?" She answered, in a happy voice.

"Of course! Can't wait. See you at CJ's." I laughed as we hung up. I don't know why we ask if we're still getting dinner together. We always eat dinner on Saturdays. CJ's is our favorite place to go. It has great music, and the food was amazing. Taylor probably liked it because of all the guys that swarmed the bar there. Taylor has been my best friend since the first grade, when she saved me from a few girls who were picking on me for wearing "guys clothes," as they described it. I loved my shorts and plain shirt, so I didn't care until they had insulted me. I don't like being called ugly.

Then again, who does?

"Why are you picking on her?" Taylor had said.

"She's wearing those ugly clothes again." said the little girl who had pushed me down. Taylor had reached down a hand and helped me up.

"My name's Taylor Bellany. Nice to meet you."

"Gaia-" I had stuttered out. "Gaia Moore."

"Scram. She's my friend now. Don't mess with her or you'll get me to answer too."

It was only 12:00, so I had no rush today. I turned the shower handle, and started up the water. I hummed to myself, and the steam coming from the shower made my voice seem clearer. I put my iPod into the speaker I plugged into the bathroom wall, and selected my special, ''Shower Playlist". Yes, I sing in the shower. I stepped into the shower, and the warm water rinsed over me. After my shower, I got dressed in a casual outfit; nothing too showy, because the dinner wasn't that big of a deal.

By the time I had finished getting dressed, I still had time to kill.

"Might as well put on some makeup, since I have spare time," I murmered, going back into the bathroom.

I grinned when I realized I hadn't turned off my iPod. The song was Arms, by Christina Perri. I sang along happily, and applied all the makeup I could bear.

I wasn't a typical girl to wear makeup. I didn't really want to wear it, because it seemed like such a bother. But my mom insisted sometimes, so I obliged.

Suddenly, the song changed to Over Again, by One Direction. I really love this song, so I started singing really loudly. Just then, my phone started to ring.

"Yello?" I said.

"Gaia! You totally need to see this," cried a loud, manly voice through the phone.

"Nate, it can wait, can't it?" I said grinning at how stupid he was. Nate is my best guy friend. He's always had my back, and really supports my singing. We've been friends since birth, because our parents were friends in college.

"Nope! You won't believe the crowds here! Apparantly, there's this boy band... One Direction, staying in town for a while. No one knows how long, but the girls here are going nuts!"

My heart skipped a beat; I loved those boys, even though they don't know I exist. I couldn't ever pick a favorite, although Niall was really cute.

"Oh really? I don't really want to come down there. Wait, where are you?" I asked, suddenly curious.

"You know that place you love? CJ's? They're like... four blocks down from that place." Nate said, and I could just hear the smirk in his voice. "Hope you can get through this traffic."

"Thanks Nate. Oh, by the way, tell Nancy I said good morning."

Nancy, the cutest five year old I have ever seen, was Nate's younger sister. She adored me, and I thought she was sweet.

We said goodbye, and I realized I had time to kill. So, I pulled out my keys and left a note for my parents.

"I'm heading out. See you tonight~! Xoxo, -Gaia," They knew I'd be downtown in some music store.
