1. Close to Nothing *Finished*

Maisey-- the "weakling". The quiet one. The one everyone leaves out. The one no one understands. The one often called "loner" or "wimp". The one that does all that she can to understand others, but just can't. The one that finally meets the guy of her dreams, but there's no way he'll ever be into her.
Maisey... The one who has close to nothing to live for. But only one person can change that. But first, he'll have to notice her. Or maybe... she'll have to notice HIM.

7. Moving in

1 week later

Maisey's POV

It'd been a week since the nasty brawl Elizabeth and I had at Harry's flat, and she hadn't bothered me since. I'd get the occasional glare in the hallways, but nothing more. We were on spring break; my parents had finally come home from their vacation, and when I told them about Harry they were happy for me. Since my last relationship, I guess you could say I was socially awkward and didn't get out much. They didn't object mind my absence around the house, either. Harry and I just seemed to be getting closer and closer.

"Mum, can I speak with you?" I pulled her aside. Her blue-green eyes matched mine perfectly, slight confusion brimming the lash en-framed orbs. "So, graduation is in a few months, then I'll be off to college..."

"You want to move out," she said abrubtly. I stared at her with confusion: how did she know? "Heard you and Harry on the phone last night." she explained with a sly smile.

"Er, yeah," I recalled Harry and I's conversation on the phone last night about a very important decision we had to make. "Basically, I'd like to move in with him after this semester. I just wanted to get your permission first."

"I'm okay with it, honey," she enveloped me in a hug. "But I would like to meet him first. Have him over for dinner tonight, love."

"Okay," I mumbled nervously. I just hoped with all my heart that he would behave himself. My parents had always been quite manner-minded.

To: Harry <3

Have dinner at my house tonight. My parents want to meet you.

From: Harry <3

Alright. I promise I will be on my best behaviour. (;

To: Harry <3

Please, do.

I waited an anxious hour until Harry arrived in his Audi, wearing a well-fitted tan blazer and jeans. His hair was in its usual way, a rather quirky smirk on his lips. He looked nervous, from what my eyes could catch from my windowsill perch. He wrung his hands before ringing the doorbell.

"Hello, Harry," I heard my mum welcome him. "I'm Mrs. Pearson, but you can call me May."

Harry gave her a kiss on the cheek, "I'm Harry."

Hesitantly, I made my way down the stairs. I had dressed up rather nice, and apparently Harry approved, because his green eyes grew wide in awe.

"Hey," I said nervously,  waving.

"Maisey, honey, you look beautiful," my mom chirped, grasping my hand in hers. "Now go fetch Harry a drink. I have some red set on the counter."

"I'll just have water, if that's okay," Harry said kindly. I glanced over at him, giving him a praising nod. Thank you... I mouthed; he winked with a dimpled smile. I took his hand, leading him to the table. He squeezed my hip reassuringly. I guess I could trust him to act well under my parents' nit-picky eyes.

"So, Harry, we hear you're into singing," my dad joined us at the table. Harry nodded with a smile.

"Yes, sir,"

"Back in my day..." my dad began. He always did this! "I used to sing. Oh, and Maisey's got a great voice, too!"

"Dad!" I blushed.

"Really?" Harry said with sarcastic enthusiasm. "Well, we'll have to hear it!" I shook my head vigorously, my mouth forming a stern line. We moved on from the subject, Harry obviously noticing my embarrassment. Thank God.

We all enjoyed the meal, making comments as we ate. My parents really seemed to be taking a liking to him. It was really hard to impress my father when it came to guys, but he actually engaged in conversation with Harry. All I did was smile down at my food, glancing up at my parents to see their reactions to the clever jokes he told and life stories he explained. By the end of the night, I was extremely tired, but walked him to the door with my parents.

"It's been a pleasure meeting you, Harry," my dad shook his hand with a grin,.

"And you," Harry replied, giving my mum a hug and kiss on the cheek.

"I'm ready to say that I approve of Maisey moving in with you," my dad suddenly said. My eyes lit up, along with Harry's which met mine almost instantly. He embraced me, his chest trembling with pleasant chuckling.

"Oh my god," I pulled away, my arms around Harry's waist. "Thank you, dad. Thank you so much!" I gave my dad a hug.

"Thank you, sir," Harry gave him an awkward hug. "I promise you she'll be safe with me. One more thing, I'd like to ask, though." Please don't say anything stupid, Harry...

"Of course,"

"My band, One Direction, is going on tour around America, and I was wondering if I could bring her along. It'd be a great experience," Harry spoke in a rush, as if he was nervous for the answer. My dad pondered it for a few minutes, collecting as much information about it as he could.

"I guess so," he replied with a sigh. "As long as you be careful." Harry's eyes widened, lips parting in awe.

"Thank you so much!" he cheered giddily, clutching me to him. My parents left as Harry and I shared a kiss goodnight. When I finally ended it, he stared into my eyes with joy.
"This is going to be amazing," I could see happy tears brimming his eyes. "But first... we have to tell the fans about you."

"Oh, right," my happiness suddenly shrank, my heart dropping. What if they didn't accept me? What if they saw me as an outsider or undesirable? I frowned, my eyes, too, began to fill with tears. "I'm just so scared."

"Don't be," he whispered into my neck. "Let's do it together." He pulled out his phone, opening up Twitter. He chose a photo of us that we'd taken while out shopping once. We both looked so happy and beautiful. With his thumbs, he typed a message, not letting me look at it-- then turning the phone so I could read it:

Hey, everyone.(: I've got some news for all of you... Say hello to my beautiful girlfriend of two weeks, Maisey Pearson. I love her so much, and I hope you guys will, too. She'll be on tour with us next month, and you'll get to meet her. Much love, and we're excited to see all of you in America! xx Harry

I smiled, nodding in approval. As soon as he hit 'Tweet' my head grew light-- thoughts buzzing around my head. What if they hated me? What if they boo'd me away while on tour or threw stuff at me for being with Harry? It all blurred my vision-- or was it the tears? I felt Harry's firm hand grip my back as everything went totally black.
